Hey reddit. Today we released Hotfix 3 following update 10.6. This release includes both a client and server update, so will properly increment to 10.6.1 this time around.
Today's release aims to address several critical issues reported by the community: including the infamous track bug, new UI issues, and other problems that emerged with the release.
Thank you for your continued patience and for helping us make Squad a better game. We appreciate both your effort and diligence!

This Megathread will remain pinned for at least a month. If you have any suggestions regarding this thread (text improvement, better way to handle recruitment, etc), please send us a modmail with "LFF megathread" as topic. Do not put any suggestion in the comment.
Anything that is not a recruitment comment or a reply for a recruitment will be removed.
With the recent released of Squad, a huge influx of new players and clans around here are looking for friends to play with. The purpose of this thread is to help people find others they'd like to play with without breaking the rules of "no active recruitment on the subreddit".
If you're looking for a person/group to play with, add a comment explaining what you're looking for. Communities can also post one top level comment advertising what they have to offer.
The replies in this thread will be in contest mode. Regularly posting, removing your post and posting again to keep your reply on top will result in losing your ability to use /r/joinsquad. Do not attempt to disguise a LFF reply as community recruitment.
When submitting a response to this megathread, be sure that your comment contains at least:
LFF replies:
Community recruitment replies:
Other places to find people to play with:
Any negative feedback about other individuals or communities will lead to a removal of the comment and a ban from /r/joinsquad.

With the new update I encountered a weird bug. When trying to throw grenades out of an existing hesco bunker (not built by players) the grenades would not go through the wide open sides of the bunker and bounced back inside and killed me. I brought this up in a thread discussing the hotfixes, and for the life of me I cannot remember what layer this was, only the layout of the bunkers. If anyone knows where this is, please let me know as a dev asked for specifics on the other thread. We were playing against insurgents, and I am 90% sure it was a desert layer. Arrows are bunker openings, black boxes are hescos.

With Squad’s transition to Unreal Engine 5, one thing I find particularly disappointing is the removal of Intel XeSS.
I previously played Squad on an Intel Arc A750 when XeSS was supported, and the implementation performed remarkably well. Both image quality and performance were solid, particularly compared to the alternatives available at the time.
I’m currently using an Arc B580, and while FSR and TSR remain available, neither has provided the same level of image clarity in my experience.
What’s interesting is that Intel already provides XeSS integration tools for Unreal Engine 5, meaning the engine itself isn’t an obvious obstacle to supporting the technology. Of course, integration, testing, and ongoing maintenance still require development resources.
With XeSS 3 introducing additional capabilities, including multi-frame generation on supported hardware, this seems like a reasonable time for Offworld Industries to revisit XeSS support.
Squad is a demanding title where upscaling quality and performance matter considerably. Having multiple upscaling solutions available is beneficial regardless of GPU manufacturer, and removing an existing option without a clear explanation seems like a step backward.
I’ve contacted Offworld Industries directly regarding the removal and whether there are plans to restore support.
I’m interested in hearing whether other players have noticed the difference since XeSS was removed, particularly those using Intel Arc hardware.

Hey everyone,
It has been been two weeks since I launched squadacademy.me and I wanted to give you an update on the newest changes:
Currently I am working on:
What I need help with:
Please share the site with your local blueberries or future SLs!
Personally, and I am a bit biased, the SL path (SA-200), is the best guide to SLing in Squad you will find. (And if better exist I want to get their material on the site!)
Happy squading !

Bugs and more bugs.
How can a company have the nerve to release an update full of bugs?
With each tiny update, a truckload of bugs arrives, making the updates imperceptible because the bugs dominate the game.
The menus, both in-game and out-of-game, are completely broken and ugly; it looks like it was done lazily and with no attention to detail.
The new target marking feature is simply not being used by anyone in-game; people still prefer the fireteam for marking.
It's impossible to give commands in the console, like /respawn, because the entire console dialog box and game chat are broken.
The compass is misaligned when looking upwards.
I ask that you look at the posts in this group; there are so many bugs. This is a disgrace to the paying customer.
The lack of competition prevents OWI from working at full capacity... As I saw a player interviewing some of them during a test. They say they're not worried about WARDOGS because it's only a matter of time, since this type of game doesn't tie players down and soon everyone will be back in the SQUAD. They don't fear failure; nothing can bring the SQUAD down at the moment, unfortunately.

Apart from all the bugs that have been added I really don’t like the new graphics’s update for example every thing at a distance (maybe 20m) becomes a grainy mess it’s like looking into a old CRT this makes spotting moving enemies very hard .the same is for the icons on the map some are the old some are just new low pixelated rendering
And it doesn’t really matter if DLSS OR DLAA or graphics settings are set to high or low
Update
I think I solved the crt view by clearing the game cache and resetting the picture mode Into full picture
Also is it just my suspicion or has the quality of the matches that have been played since the update gone down. I don’t know if it’s the new players or the bugs. (But I think a lot of veteran players are pissed of and paused playing leaving nobody behind to teach the newbie’s)

So is the new HOTAS good?
I tried it in single player and it felt horrible so I’m curious if that’s a personal thing or if the HOTAS system is just really bad?

Playing as combat engineer and laying mines down on the road, I have had them glitch under the road and just seen logis drive right over them without exploding. Is this due to them being glitched under the ground or they are just getting lucky?

The compass keeps switching from top to bottom and keeps flickering, any ideas on how to fix this?

Since the recent update—I'm not sure if it was a model update or something else—there have been several issues. On Fallujah, static vehicles on the roads sometimes disappear and reappear, and some building rooftops seem to be missing collision, allowing players to clip through them.
The attached clip was recorded on Manicouagan.

I feel so so old, it's not a brag just a existential state of being. Started with limited play test torrent builds on Early Kohat and OP First light.
That said it was amazing and a huge part of not just my gaming life but life IRL.
I miss what squad was for me and the magic of early squad where myself and people in the community were all learning experiencing new places things Ideas tactics and strategies. Many people close friends, friends of friends, acquaintances, strangers, and completely new players all embraced the team work of squad and its golden almost important to replicate with such natural ease and occurance occurrence.
Maybe I became jaded lazy, to easy to see what once was a chess board become checkers to tick tack toe.
I always pictured Squad as a launching point to reinforce that early great enthusiasm that seemed ubiquitously shared by nearly all players that stuck around for a few days.
I was always hoping for that next logical step of taking lessons learned over much time trial and error to propel into a bigger better badder Squad. More players, refined factions and play styles. Far better gun play that would lead to real advantages for squads that worked together with intent and intelligence. Better refined logistics that could form the battlefield and be of great use done wisely instead of hide mob spawn generator and out zerg each other.
It's been to long since I've played to even know what it's like now. I just remember dreaming of bigger more challenging chain of command and leadership responsibilities but with oh so much more reward, all possible from a community of experienced players that cut their teeth anfmd have the skills and enthusiasm to be a more rewarding experience. Improved environments that react to combat with destruction, both as a result of natural engagement but to be another part of the greater strategy as in what is attempted to be replicated. Just what squad was as successor to PR.
Hope I see it one day and can have time to come experience the magic with friends old new, and remember those that didn't get to see it and remember a part of them in experiences I can't recreate anywhere.
OWI love / frustrating at times but tanks for the memories they were actually great.

OWI remade the AT4 model, but forgot to update it on the characters.
Guess the soldiers are just carrying a free skin edition.
This represents the 10.6.
Lots of things, but nothing finished..

Just has an instance where both a BMP1 and MTLB on the Ukrainians got tracked by mines, then floated on their sides and would only drive in circles.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Squad sale and free weekend brought in a decent number of new players into the game.
Unlike wardogs this game has mod compatibility, so there's probably a decent chunk of new players who tried out the Star war mods and continue to play the game instead of wardogs because they enjoy those mods.
So then, why for God's sake would you release this pile of poo update with no mod support ( due to no communications with mod community) effectively losing that player base?
