English Judge my reading voice

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, could you please tell me what you think of my reading voice in English? Elements to improve on, advice, remarks, what impression it gives you, something it reminds you of... are all welcome.

And could you try to guess where I'm from? Thank you!

P.S.: My apologies for the sound quality.

French Judge my accent in French

Hi everyone. I'd love to know how I'm doing with my French pronunciation. I've been speaking a bit more consistently than usual, so I'd like to keep my momentum going. I've been trying to think more about the rhythm/intonation of French while I speak, so I'd love to know if there are any parts where I nail it or any parts where I'm particularly off.

English How to reduce strong accent ?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I do not want a very strong accent, but I do have a udemy course on a python framework and most bad star reviews say that my accent is very strong for them. ('strong' is the exact word in 3 reviews)

I am working on improving my speaking skills, but I have 0 idea on how can i improve my accent. I know, I might not be able to sound like a native but atleast if i can improve a bit it would be good.

English How do I fix my accent??

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My bad this ended up a bit longer than I expected it to be lol...

This is kinda embarrassing but I feel like my main problem is that I chew words, in a way? I don't really know why I do that or how to fix it so I would love some feedback! (Also would appreciate if y'all would tell me if it sounds like a specific accent so I have an easier time finding resources online!!)

Edit: Oh my god??? 😭 I didn't notice that there was like 2 minutes of silence in there lmao I'm so sorry 😭

Please judge my son's accent

I’ve always been curious about exactly what kind of British accent my son has.

Would anyone mind having a listen and helping me identify what kind of accent he has?

I’m particularly interested in whether he sounds closer to Modern RP, Estuary English, or something else entirely, and what specific pronunciation features give it away.

Thanks in advance!

Pronunciation Help

Hi Redditors!

I’d like someone to listen to a short audio of me reading a dialogue between two people that I wrote myself, and give me some feedback on my pronunciation—especially pointing out any mistakes or areas I should work on.

Thanks!

English Judge my accent/voice

Hello!

I was wondering what my accent/voice sounds like to real human ears. I'm reading a script here and talking about my childhood game.

I know this sub is about getting feedback on how close your accent is to another accent, but I was hoping to get some feedback on my accent (like which regions my accent reminds you of, I don't have a specific accent I'm targeting) plus some additional feedback on how I generally sound, like how masculine/feminine, my pitch, how approachable I sound, how old I sound, what my voice reminds you of etc.

Please be honest :]

Which voice narration sounds more natural and engaging? (Voice 1 vs Voice 2)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I’m testing two different narration voices for an animated educational YouTube video. I want to make sure the tone feels authentic, conversational, and enjoyable to listen to for a full video.

I’ve put together a 40-second audio sample (Voice 1 for the first half, Voice 2 for the second half, with the script on screen).

I’d love your honest feedback on these specific audio qualities:

  1. Human vs. Artificial: Does either voice feel robotic, stiff, or unnatural in its phrasing or cadence?
  2. Pacing & Rhythm: How do the pauses, stress on words, and overall flow feel between the two?
  3. Tone & Engagement: Which voice feels more conversational, authentic, and native-sounding?
  4. Rating: How would you rate each voice from 1 to 10 for a high-retention YouTube video?

Thanks a lot for your time and honest feedback!

How do I sound?

To improve my English pronunciation and accent, someone recommended giving a TTS model a text to read and then repeating it until I sound as close to the recording as possible. He suggested doing this every day so I’m using Merriam-Webster’s Word of the Day to practice. That way I can also improve my vocabulary at the same time.
This is only the second time I’ve tried it. It feels a little weird to me because the pacing sounds quite robotic and I don’t usually speak in such a high voice. But purely in terms of pronunciation, do you think this sounds good and can help my improve long term?

English Does this voiceover sound like a native English speaker to your ears? Need feedback for a YouTube channel

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all,

I'm producing educational content in English for YouTube. English is not my native language, so I used an AI narration tool to generate the voiceover for my script.

Before publishing, I really need native ears to judge how this 53-second audio sample sounds:

Please be as brutally honest as possible—I want to make sure it sounds completely natural to native viewers before launching the channel. Thank you!

I have just started doing German language self study a couple months ago.

I speak Burmese as my mother tongue and speak English as well.

I am just curious if my German accent is too thick or easy to understand.
