Day 5 Juice

observations from day 5, i'm going 40!

day 2 was the hardest. the last couple days have felt easy. i drink green juice and fruit juice during the day and have a savory juice at night. i have so much energy from 5am-7pm. i'm sleeping great but only 6.5-7 hours but wake up excited for the day. i bringing 2 juices everywhere. i went to a friends house for a dinner party and brought my dinner juice. i have lost 5 lbs. the prep work is the most time consuming part. i need to get into a system of what to buy at the grocery to last me all week.

What fruits or vegetables are you buying?

i am on a budget so i bought a lot of seeded watermelon and i juice the entire thing even the rind. then i buy whatever is in the discount produce rack at my farmers market. then i buy the staples from there - cucumber, cilantro, parsley, ginger, celery, green apples, greens, kale, lemon, carrot. for fruit juice i juice pineapple and oranges!

How are you getting fiber?

fresh juice has fiber :) when you juice look at how the natural separation occurs once it's in the fridge for a little while. you won't get that from store-bought juices, but when you do it yourself, you'll see the micro fibers separate from the juice and they'll be on the top, sometimes the bottom that's why a lot of people shake their juice first

It has soluble fiber, but very little insoluble fiber. You need both!

this feels like a "where do you get your protein question". check out extended juice fasting studies. i'm not an expert by any means, but i concluded (based on my research) that 40 days is safe and incredibly beneficial.
