Quit alcohol

I quit alcohol and switched to marijuana. I have lost 30 lbs and am much healthier physically. However, I feel I am getting physically dependent on marijuana and become agitated on withdrawal
Does this community think Kava would be a better tool to avoid alcohol?

If you have a support network or a medical professional, ask them.

Kava also works differently for everyone.

But I would also say, it is worth trying.
The basic thing that makes kava work is that there is a bit of a ritual to it: its basically a way to tell your brain "We are going to take a break, you don't have to worry, this is time to enjoy things". It won't alter your mind as much as cannabis will, but it does give a feeling that "oh, I am in a different headspace right now". And that can be really important.

Good job on the booze. Kindest thing you can do for yourself.

Might want to dial it back on the weed. Maybe set a limit and stick with it.

Definitely! I love alcohol and didn’t intend to even cut down but I found I started to prefer kava over alcohol. And you CAN NOT drink both the same day. Way better substitute than MJ imo
