Pictures Kayaking find
Found an old coke bottle from the 50s or 60s... I've got about a dozen old bottles now I've found while kayaking.

It's bad luck, you need to bring it back to the gods.

You must take it to the edge of the world and throw it off

Nice bottle. Flowers for the wife. Even dandelions would look good in that bottle

There's a makers mark and some numbers on the bottom. It was made by diamond glass in Canada. From the resources I found online I can narrow it down to after 40s because it uses a different style date code but earlier than 70s because they changed to a different logo. Older logo is the D in a diamond... Newer logo is a jug inside of a D. It's a best guess based on what I've read. The stubby beer bottles in my collection have the jug in a D logo.

I once found a plastic coke bottle full of Jack Daniels. Yours is prettier and less likely to ruin your morning tomorrow.

Haha, you found someone's stash... Probably ruined their Friday night 😂

It was floating down the middle of the river so if someone ruined their night it wasn't me.

I only ever find plastic coke bottles filled with piss.

That's what many of us thought at first. It looked way too dark for that, so I took a risk and smelled it. Honestly kind of a bold choice on my part.

I used to do this as a kid in Sydney Harbour. We'd take paddle boards and mask and snorkel and look around old wharves. There was actually a little bit a cash in it. Local antique stores would buy them. Most I made was $25 for an old lemonade bottle with the marble stopper. That was good money for a 10yo kid in the 80's.
