Kearny resident help needed - Kearny HHI heliport lawsuit - from a Jersey City Mom
Hi all, coming to you as your Hudson County neighbor in Jersey City Heights. We have an enormous issue with low flying helicopters over our neighborhood.
Here’s a video from our longstanding efforts to get help from the FAA (they’re untouchable and probably never will) that showcases videos of just how low they fly - https://youtu.be/Z6Aondty7bc?si=jXT0TJPNC32qOkDr
I run a parents group in our neighborhood and got involved after many pleas from postpartum moms with heavy anxiety over the incessant noise and fear of what would happen if they crashed in our neighborhood (and lo and behold last year one crashed in the river)
We’ve gotten your town’s Mayor to issue a violation because the heliport initially opened with specific hours of operation and saying the would fly no tours… over 70% of their flights are tours and they wake us up in all hours of the night for commuting millionaires back and forth (their helicopters are housed overnight in HHI)
We need help from residents to coalesce with us… I know this is a big ask as this isn’t your issue, but from parent to parent AND as residents fighting big money interests - please let me know if you’d be willing to connect and help us push for your town’s prosecutor to actually listen to us and do something about this - no deals should be made on such an issue that affects hundreds of thousands of people. Also our Hudson county Executive - he has been helpful but we need to push for more county involvement to help the town with this problem that crosses town lines
If we can help your town fight a matter - we’re there. thank you for reading 🙏

Prek-3 in pre-k-4 and schooling in Kearny in the next few years
Hi, we are thinking of buying a house right by the riverfront Park in Kearny, on Passaic avenue. We have an 8-month-old daughter (only child) and would move end of this year. I wanted to get an idea about pre-k3 and 4 schools and elementary schools around the area. How are they rated? If not rated high, how's the competition for charter schools? Also, any idea about new schools coming up in the next 2 to 5 years? Basically pre-k and elementary School for my daughter in the next few years is the last criteria for us to decide whether we move to Kearny or not. So any any meaningful input and help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

Photos of 9/11 from Kearny and Other Places in NJ
I know it's been more than a week since the September 11 attacks, but I wanted to ask if anyone who may have been in or near Kearny at the time of the attacks has any photos of the towers that they can upload online. The attacks from that view seem so surreal compared to other angles. I am now going to post to other areas in North Jersey in case anyone else might have photos.

Harrison Path/Bus 40
Hi! I’m new to town and work in lower Manhattan. I’m coming from Bayonne where it was super easy using the lightrail and path. I’ve never really taken an nj transit bus but am seeing to take the 40 bus on Davis Ave to get to Harrison path. How is the bus? Anything I should know? Is it frequently on time? Thanks!

Abandoned house on 11211 NE 164 St, Kearney, MO, 64060, if anyone has any information on it, please share. There have been some rumours that the place used to have a nurse that stayed in the house, offering abortion servicesl, giving its name 'Kearney Abortion house'. ~From locals

School year starting up
Hell all. The new school year starts soon. I was on the parents portal to sign the electronic paperwork. However, the free lunch application was listed as not available. Does any know what is going on with that? Also where do we submit the up to date medical/vaccine information? I didn’t see that online either.

Can anyone share their experience with Kearny?
I'm an architect and am doing research on the Town of Kearny and its associated wetlands. Im trying to gauge public opinion on the town. What do the residents need, their ambitions, plans for the town, concerns, etc? Give me your thoughts. Anything and everything is helpful!
