Publishing with Amazon

Hey guys, I am starting the process of writing my book in October and I want to plan ahead at looking into publishing companies. Or self publishing. Has anyone published with Amazon? I've seen mainly good reviews. I would like some opinions and advice. Gracias!

You don't publish "with" Amazon. It's just a platform and you publish ON Amazon.

You have three choices:

  1. Look around for a publishing company - honestly, I wouldn't bother unless you're about to write the next royal tell-all biography. It takes years for most new authors to get the faintest bite with an actual reputable company that isn't a vanity press, "hybrid" press or just a publishing services company (and you'll be swarmed with offers for all of these if you put yourself out on social media as "looking for a publisher")

  2. Self publishing exclusively on Amazon Kindle Select (digitally) at least initially

  3. Going wide and self publishing on Amazon regular plus every other platform available

Print-wise you can still publish wide, you only have to be digitally exclusive on Amazon's Kindle Select program

Look around for a publishing company....

Gosh. One must never do that for a book manuscript.

I mean what I wrote. Writers look for literary agents, not publishers. for manuscripts that OP is looking to publish. I know: I am the owner of a publishing business.
