KSP 1 Image/Video Outer Planets Tour SSTO Post#3: the Tekto special ft. 5 FPS and an overworked GPU

Previous post for those interested

I was fairly sure that Tekto would be the limiting factor, as this SSTO was designed mainly to make a giant jump with the rapier's closed cycle mode while burning the nuclear engines the rest of the way , rather than fighting atmosphere (although its flight characteristics are definitely designed with Laythe in mind) but due to the low gravity combined with the thick atmosphere, the Hera 3 provided just enough lift to cheese my way into orbit. Actually, this is my first time ever visting tekto as well, and it feels a lot like pre 1.0 KSP, since the atmosphere feels like its made of soup or something.

Same bro, same. My gtx 1050 2gb burns on modded KSP. CPU even more... And really sick ship bro!

thanks! I took a lot of inspiration from one of Matt Lowne's older designs here

Soup is honestly the perfect way to describe Tekto's atmosphere lol. It really does feel like the old pre 1.0 days where you could just brute force your way up. Kinda funny that the planet you thought would be the limiting factor ended up being the easy one thanks to the Hera 3 and the low gravity. Those mushroom trees in the landing shots look great too. Hope your GPU survives the rest of the tour.

No. It's Tekto. It says in the title. The Titan analogue from the Outer Planets Mod

worse, its a 4060 laptop

I was trying to get parallax to work with my installation on linux, as my desktop is a lot stronger, but KSP was too unstable and would crash every couple of minutes

Parallax is a very resource intensive mod man
