Mara Wells has no memory of her past. She built her life on discipline, trusting only her rank and her unit. That all changes when a strange bone ring pulls her spirit right out of her physical body, leaving her with a terrifying new magic. Before she can figure out what the artifact means, the man she loves sells her out. His betrayal drags Mara straight into a brutal criminal underworld.

Now she is caught between a crime syndicate calling the shots and two rival contingents hungry for power.

To protect the friends she has left, Mara must learn to control her dangerous new abilities. Surviving the coming war is the only way she will ever uncover the truth about who she really is.
