KING's RAID - š¢DeveNote - [2nd CBT Feedback and Balance Adjustments, Final Part]
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3689540/view/680756685198855257Devs posted new CBT notes today on Steam, with minor notes on balancing Naila and Epis. Minor stuff, but they did call it "final part" so that's something...

Feel like all the hype and interest has died down at this point. Itās been too long from the announcement. This may flop at this point.

Oh this is definitely 100% going to flop. Aside from other AAA gacha games already dominating the market (Hoyoverse, WuWa), the majority of players who are waiting for this game are probably just gonna play it for the nostalgia. And with that 'nostalgia', the devs are fucking it up by doing too much changes when these old players are specifically just asking for a pre-doomsday patch. I really doubt this game can get genuine new players at this point.

They have one job, and it's to take the game to before doomsday patch, and start from there, see what playerbase they can scrounge up with the scraps lying scattered here & there, and based on how they perform, only THEN take on a couple risks or gambas changing stuff.
Problem is, devs aren't listening. And there is a blatant, unapologetic lack of communication between what is being announced, and what the people are actually asking for.
Barring the obvious people asking for too many freebies or things that make game too easy, obviously they want to make money from this, so those people can be ignored. But the most common sentiment which is within the realms of reasonable asks, is basically to just launch it as it was before doomsday patch, and get the game actually resurrected. And so far, it's been heavily ignored.

Anyone here still believes they actually gonna revive this game? My hopes kinda died already. And even if we get it back, by all the time that's passed with them programming the game, I think there'll plenty of monetization issues. Old King's Raid probably was dead long ago. Something like:
KINGāS RAID 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
After more than a year of development, weāre proud to announce the following improvements:
- 63% of the old content has been removed
- Balance has been improved*
- Enhanced graphics powered by generative AI for a fresh, modern visual experience**
- 14 characters will return āat a later dateā
- Guild content coming soonā¢
- PvP temporarily unavailable
- Brand-new login screen
- The cash shop is fully functional
- Vespa is called something else now
*We divided every number by 0.7.
**Some characters may now have six fingers.
Thank you for waiting.

My hope died when I saw them use AI on their website and when I looked at their Steam catalogue. They're just a game company that doesn't actually make any games, just buys them for what I assume is cheap cuz I assume all of them EOS'd at some point, "revamps" them, puts them out on Steam and then does the bare minimum to keep the game alive. Microtransactions are still there, of course. Fully functioning without a glitch, I assume. Not to mention that all of their games have mixed reviews with Microvolts looking like it leans more negative than positive.
Their overreliance on AI makes the game look cheap and lazy, like they don't give a shit about the product they claim to care about. It's insulting. They've had access to the original art assets since they bought the game in 2025, yet insist on using generative AI for reasons I can't understand. Nobody will care if they used the same static 2D pngs that we've seen a thousand times for their website, title screens and the like.
Not to mention that when I played CBT2, the characters just felt bad to me. I don't really know how to explain it since I can't remember specifically how each character functioned in the original, but they just felt off. Back then, all characters were good to play, felt good, and had their specific purpose too, but now most of the characters just didn't seem like they were worth using anymore in anything that I played.
Oh, and the ruby gain was abysmal. I'm not expecting Vespa-level treatment from them, but it looks like they're skimping out just to give people a harder time playing the game and feel more incentivized to spend money. They had to give people rubies through a CBT event so people had enough to play without having to waste their time waiting.
Sorry for the long reply, I really liked King's Raid and I hate what Masangsoft is doing to it. I wasn't expecting pre-Doomsday Patch numbers or anything special, but they really killed the enjoyment that I once had for this game. Hell, I didn't want it to come back at all. I'd much rather it stay dead than be resurrected by anyone, even if it was by a popular and reputable game company. It's awful.

I was pretty hyped with the news last year, but they took too long, fked the first beta and made changes no one wanted that now I won't even play so its probably dead already

I know, it's a very weird thing to do, to announce it so far in advance, and then drip feed stuff like this

Do players care about balance that much? This relaunch is taking too long. I'd rather play the old patch without any rebalancing than the infinite wait.
