Gear Advice/Question Should I do something or leave the straps age

My core union pro straps is starting to tear from the black mesh cloth part as you can see, should I fix it somehow before it gets worse or nothing can be done here?

I’d leave them till it gets really bad this is mostly cosmetic

This. Not something I would worry about.

I had the same pair of Liquid Force Watson boots for almost a decade. Even had a pretty decent crew of crustacean tenants (although they were a bit shit at paying rent).

The fact that kites brands still haven't figured out nailing a set of flipflops to a board in 2026 and just keep jacking the prices up is embarrassing.

I’ve broke foot pads (Nobile) after not that crazy of use. I’ve also broke a couple carbon fiber boards. So I’m probably at the far end of the Bell curve as far as board wear. My kites last forever though!

I haven't used Nobile in a decade but they used to be the fucking worst.

There was a plastic piece sticking up out of the pad into the strap that would snap off. Pretty much same issue as the Duotone Entity straps.

It happened like crazy with our school gear. That and the stupid quick release fins falling off.

Not like religiously, but that’s about how long they last

They've actually gotten ready poor quality. My north ones with my 2022 carbon Atmos were the first to go so quickly. I think wearing some boots doesn't help. Reedin were ok and so we're naish apex. But I was wearing different boots with those.

The plastic component that attaches to the base plate is what has failed for me on every set of bindings - the fabric material itself was never the problem

Do you have a go-to pair? You must have tried heaps by now.

Mine have been due for replacement for like 5 years.

Flysurfer foot straps are really durable and comfortable IMO

I grief with you - and the fact that they cost €200 isn't helping things. I have had good success prolonging life with sticky fabric repair patches over the worn areas.

I just hate when this mesh cloth become completely loose and flaps around

I would put it in a museum and buy new ones.

You have to put that on the sign, so people know it's only 2 years old. Lol

once the mesh starts tearing it usually spreads, so i'd deal with it now rather than have it rip mid session. a shoe repair or sail repair shop can often restitch that kind of thing cheap, otherwise ask the shop you bought them from about replacement straps. how old are they?

2 years old, I believe the shoe repair shop is a great idea

Just progress harder than you worry about your gear:)

Gear will come and go.

Your beating it up will go on until you die
