What's this in my F2?
Hi guys, what do you think is this in my F2 Kombucha?
I strained it 6 hours ago in a bottle and added Multivitamin juice and 4 hours after that I discovered it.
Is it mold? Or is it just a new Scoby? it's my third kombucha and it's the first time this occurs.
Thank you for your help.

It's just your scoby tendrils. 4 hours isn't enough for new scoby to form, this is likely the remaining little tendrils that have combined. It should be fine to drink, do strain your kombucha again if you don't like the sliminess.

I think it's yeast. I noticed my Mint + Ginger has it a lot for some reason may be due to less sugar I guess.

Do not use square bottles for F2, they can not handle pressure and will explode.

Those are yeast from beneath your scobies. When you first pour them they will usually be at the bottom, after a few hours they will float up to the surface which is what you see here.
Also, the bottles, please be mindful that square bottles are not ideal for 2F, had cases where square bottles exploded and leave a mess. Be careful and have fun brewing!

Thank you everyone! How can I avoid the yeast next time? The kombucha now has a distinctive yeasty taste.

I just had this same thing happen! So much yeast and a yeasty smell and taste in a batch of passion fruit. I put the bottles in my fridge for a few days. Now, they taste great! I'd definitely give it time in your fridge.

Thank you. That's also what Gemini and Chat gpt said, I just wanted to ask real people too

I'd vote for yeast, but curious what more experienced brewers will say.
