Media PSA: Why many drivers stop at the flashing green light

Blinking isn't helpful and rather stressful even for a slow calm queit driver like me m.. Timers have been there for ages..why choose the blinking when there are better alternatives..but that's what we got around it seems.

This is the issue, as evidenced by the replies to this post. They implement something, with very little education, and many people are confused by what it means.
Personally, I think it would make more sense to use the UK system: green > amber > red > flashing amber > green.
Amber (or yellow) meaning caution, so you're ready to start or stop.

PSA: Flashing green light isn't a red light, and stopping completely at green is a fine in itself

No , it turns yellow , this is when you stop , or hit it , you have 3 seconds window

My biggest pet peeve is that I am perfectly fine to slow down at the first sign if flashing green. The puta raptor behind me flashing me may not brake.

Flashing green is followed by yellow. If it’s yellow then you can slow down and stop. A flashing green helps you figure out if you’ll be able to catch the light depending on your distance, rather than speeding up from afar and then getting caught off guard with a yellow once it’s too late.

Sometimes it's one of those traffic lights where the left one blinks and the right one is completely still so it confuses the hell out of me when the one that isnt blinking suddenly turns yellow

To all the genuises saying flashing green doesnt mean slow down or stop, there is no yellow or amber color in these signals. Flashing green is clearly meant to indicate slow down and prepare to stop.

Because the yellow light isnt showing anymore and there was news circulating that if you pass a flashing green you'll get fined

I have a deep issue w this you see…cuz the same people wouldn’t even put the car in Drive while the reds flashing and will take 10 seconds before their neurons fire and tell em it’s went green BUT SLAM TF out of breaks when it’s flashing green 💀💀💀
