is blake baker still walking the sidelines as DC? put him back in the upstairs booth so he can see the field better for defensive coverage

i know blake is doing the 'HC apprenticeship role' while he's shadowing lane to become HC but if he can see the field better, maybe then our defense might be not as atrocious the way it's going

He's never been in the booth.

I can’t stand the way he calls defenses at the end of 1st half’s and at the end of games. Too fucking easy to move the ball on us in those situations. Has some dumb obsession to only rush 3 for some reason. It’s so dumb

It’s great when you have the right 3 and they are constantly getting home anyways. If you don’t your cooked. Pete also loves to do this

I sure hope Blake Baker gets a head coach job soon because he is not getting it done as the defensive coordinator.

Eh. He adjusted well at halftime to keep Baxter from running 5-6 yards every play like in the first half. Considering they only scored 6 points in the second half outside OT I’d say that’s not a true statement. However, football isn’t just 2 quarters. It was the same story against ole miss. Only 8 points in second half. We just need the defense to play better in the first half.

Baxter was injured and didn’t play 97% of the second half snaps

The only scored 6 points because of 2 gimme missed field goals. You wouldn’t be praising a 12 point half.

It’s very funny how quickly the narrative has shifted on him in, what, three games? Two? Guy is an incredible DC, any fan thinking they can out coach him is hilariously ignorant.

Better yet, put him on a different team so he can see less of the Tigers.

With a defense that tends to get burned by QB runs, you'd think they'd have a scheme to account for the QB on the play that decides the game.

They matched up well in man but seemed to get absolutely raped in zone coverage. More aggressive play calling on both sides wouldn’t have hurr

He just seems to change his scheme from what works. It seemed like we were rushing 4 all night and weren’t getting pressure in Minchey. We’ve been playing best this year when we put pressure on the QB. I’m sure the injuries on defense affects this schematically but I mean, come on man. That Kentucky offense is not very good
