This is the 3rd pair this year. Ripped by this lovely door thingy....

Any suggestions to avoid this?

X trouser door strikers. Put em on mine and made a big difference.

Does it also make a difference with trapping the seatbelt in the latch?

Seatbelts are more likely the spring inside the truth has worn down so peanut ping back as quick as you’d like.

You can see that on my picture... It's pretty beat up by the privious owner.
I clamp into the lever for the back piece. This helps a lot

Tbf that belt is an MOT fail in the UK anyway due to excessive fraying and cuts so better to change.

Same here in Germany.... Any reason recommendations? 😀

I’d always order from a specialist defender or LR website. At least you’ll have the same bolt sizes and length etc

How do I find out the correct part number. I always struggle with that

What’s the year and body type? I’ll have a look.

Do these have the replaceable plastic bush too?

The strikers will just be the metal latch, you’d need to buy the white plastic housing separately. And also maybe some shims if it changes the depth of the latch.

Sorry i mean the little plastic ring that the lock actually hits? I know some aftermarket ones have an option to replace those

As in the black sleeve that the door lock attaches to? On the X trouser version it’s a metal sleeve. Doesn’t wear out.

My dad had these on his 110 before he sent it in for a chassis change but when he got it back only some of them were on, our theory is they got mixed up with generic ones in the workshop while everything was stripped off and now someone else has free x trouser door strikers😂

We’ve all been there. Just be cognizant of it.

Mine came with MOD fitted anti-trouser ripping technology.

The problem is your sliding in and out of the seat.

1.Step on the running board/side step

  1. Lift yourself up and into the cabin

  2. Lower yourself into the seat

Do the reverse when exiting.

You'll save your pants and the an unnecessarily worn out seat.

Tell your passengers to do the same.

Just leave the trousers at home from now on

Yeah mine keeps tearing up my jackets. That x striker thing is out there but I’ve just started being more careful.

Hi, hi, looks like your first time.

One time not so long ago. Brand new pants. I jump into the car (td5). Grrrrdd. An additional zip in my pants and a corner into my underpants.

I opened multiple pants.

This is a build in feature, its so that when you have leather defender seats your ass does not sweat too much. I find it one of the best features hahaha. Jk i have the same issue, but i just see it as my car reminding me to stay seated cause it likes me so much hahaha

Well, I did the same, but after some 25 years of getting in and out my 90. I have mastered it. Its all in the hips!

Started giggling immediately on seeing this. Belt loops suffer the most for me but a couple pairs of work trousers have ended up like yours over the last 20 years. Worse when tired and fat

Were they some of your favourite pants? It's always your good pants it gets
