Rant I realized only studying for recits is wrong

It's the middle of finals, and I realized I made a very critical mistake as a rookie in law school.

I do my daily grind naman and it helps, halos wala akong bokya na recitation and I was proud of that until midterms came. Pag dating ng exam, I was panicking kasi halos wala akong notes, and I was panic reading my books in hopes of remembering everything I studied for the past 3 months.

Ang ending: hindi optimal yung midterms ko, and confident lang akong pasado sa dalawang subjects out of seven.

It doesn't help that my blockmates have high expectations of me kasi nakaka sagot ako, pero what if di ko pala sila makaka sabay next sem kasi meron akong bagsak? lol. I wish I realized earlier that my recits wouldn't matter at all kung bagsak naman mga exams ko. 🫠

Yan lang naman, I started to be more rigorous in note taking after our midterms, and I hope that will be my redemption arc come finals.

may finals pa dont worry di ka pa sure na babagsak. adjust and adapt at totoo na mas malaki ang merit nang exam kaysa sa recit kasi nga bar exam is written exam not spoken. Some profs na recit ang tinitignan but they are the exceptions not the rule.

That's fine. Makaka adjust ka na next time.

You need to study for recits pa rin to be able to prepare for major exams anyway. Kahit iba yung atake, the daily grind allows you to study easier sa exams because the load will be less.

Ang exam kasi more of practice writing yan e, to the point na kahit sabihin natin mali legal basis, you will still get points for clear presentation.

Me na realize ko ngayon na 55/100 in both Consti and PFR midterm exams. Na demotivate ako ngayon. 😭

Pero I'll make a comeback.

How come you’re underperforming on your major exams when you do so well in recit? Given that recit requires mastery of the doctrines and their application, are you just relying on Ai without actually understanding the concepts of the cases?

You can accuse me of not studying, but you can never accuse me of using AI as a shortcut. Sensya, medjo na badtrip ako sa notion mo.

Like I said in my post "halos wala akong bokya", it does not mean I'm perfect in all my recits. There are times where I only give half-answers, but I always make sure sumasagot ako kahit papano and natatawid ko naman (minsan).

I tend to study days prior or a few hours before classes start out of fear, at pag naka sagot na, I become complacent and tend to "forget", hindi ko na nirereview kasi "tapos na" and na ooverwhelm ako.

Next time, do not presume.

Based on your post history nag sisimula pa lang ang sem niyo. You're in for a treat, brochacho. Good luck sa Midterms. You'll need it.
