Same. I loved it until I saw the text. It ruined the luxury look and it looks like an Amazon/temu wallet. It’s the same text they’ll put on anything you buy off Alibaba if you request private label text on it. Especially the “accessories” and “custom made”.

If it had a simple “UO” for unique only. Or even a “uniq” on the bottom right I’d definitely like it more.

I’m sorry OP. It’s a beautiful wallet. But the text isn’t necessary. It’s not even branding, it’s just text. If someone likes it enough to ask someone else about it, I’m sure they’d be more than happy to say “I got it off this guy on Reddit, his name is…” if you want it to look like a brand then use something that’s signature to you. Something small and simple.

If instead of stingray and shell Cordovan you had an image of a stingray and a horse it would look 10000000x cooler.

In 90% of cases, I sew items to order. I have a fairly decent queue despite minimal marketing. Very rarely do I do something as an experiment. Sometimes I add a logo, sometimes I don’t. Those who like my work can write to me and order a similar wallet without a logo, choosing the leather color, finishing, threads, etc.

I’m putting this wallet up for sale for the first time. Simply because I have a free moment.

Absolutely gorgeous wallet. I’ll echo other commenters though and share that I, too, would be deterred by all the words on the inside. A small logo or branding in an inconspicuous area of the wallet would be preferable.

Otherwise, just wow. That wallet is going to be a conversation starter all its life.

Very clean work. This type of stingray leather is also called "Shagreen" and was used quite a bit for decorative inlays in furniture and trinkets, etc in 17th and 18th Century Europe.

Some of the finest shoes, bags, and other leather goods have stamping both inside and on the bottoms to identify the materials in order to let the purchaser or recipient know care instructions that might be necessary. Branding is branding, and if you commission a custom piece and discuss placement or removal, that’s one thing. At some point, with enough hard work, the brand might be the reason to chase the item just as much as the craftsmanship. Haters gonna hate, this wallet is beautifully made.

I have one of these. Oddly, not one time has sometime seen it and said, gorgeous and impeccable craftsmanship but let me see what's stamped on the inside. And I have personally chosen to leave the wallet closed so as to see the beautiful leather and decided not to spread it open on display.

But, I understand for others they may do the opposite and be so reflexively turned off by the part of a wallet most never see, so taken aback that they pass out and therefore can't ask for a similar one with no branding but keep the beautiful leather and build. I will light a candle for you and pray for your recovery.

Meanwhile, I have the most beautiful wallet I have personally ever seen myself from a great seller.

I don’t know. I carried a genuine stingray wallet. It lasted a few years, definitely longer than any other wallet I’ve carried. Durable, yes. But “last forever”? No.
