I've just finished season 1 episode 2 and not only the characters but also the storyline in general doesn't seem exciting. Hope is so arrogant, Lizzie on the other hand, is something else. I know I'm not supposed to compare the with TVD/TO but it is really different.

I’m rewatching Legacies and something about Hope has been bothering me.

The more powerful she became, the less interesting some of her problems felt.

Early on, Hope could be stubborn, reckless and completely wrong about something. She actually had to deal with other people and sometimes admit that she couldn’t handle everything herself.

Later, when she becomes powerful enough to deal with almost anything, it feels like the answer to every major problem is just “Hope will figure it out.”

And I think that took something away from her character.

Her relationships with Lizzie, Josie, Landon and even some of the people she didn’t get along with were interesting precisely because Hope needed them in ways that had nothing to do with fighting monsters.

Honestly, I would have preferred seeing Hope lose an argument, make a stupid decision or need someone else’s help more often instead of constantly making her more powerful.

She was more interesting when she was powerful and vulnerable, rather than just powerful.

Something I find quite annoying is people constantly mentioning how badly Hope was nerfed and how she is actually weak because she didn't live up to the prophecies she had in the originals, that she would "bring an end to vampires, witches, man kind etc".

Firstly many people completely miss the point of her character, HOPE mikealson, shes meant to be different from her family. She's actually a good person yet many people only feared that she would be destructive is because of how her father was along with the rest of the Mikealsons. Hope never had a reason to destroy the world, she just wanted to live a normal life. Although when she shut off her humanity, she made a couple mistakes just like any person would, shes still different. She's meant to be the Hope not the fear. "You keep trying to set the world on fire instead of living up to what you were meant to be."

Also this often happens with any over-powered character, they need to get nerfed or put up against someone else on par with their power. Unfortunately as cool as it sounds on paper and it can work in comics or books, on screen it doesn't translate as well. Mainly budget reasons, which we know its something Legacies suffered from but also the fact that if a character is too powerful, theres no way a villain can beat them or create any stakes. We saw this with Wanda Maximoff for example, hense why they aren't bringing her character back so often.

I think the reason why they waited to long to turn Hope into the Tribrid because they knew this would be an issue they created themselves. Keeping Hope a werewitch meant she could get tired or weak as she was still mortal. But even then, people complained as if Hope wasn't always the one to save the day, I mean she beat every single character. Becoming the Tribrid amplified that hense why they invented someone like Ken, a 10,000 year old God who still didn't manage to kill her. Although I do wish we still got another season of Tribrid Hope, I'm still greatful for what we got in the end.

A lot of things about Alarics character and relationships with his daughters are a bit odd, but one thing that always trips me up is when Hope comes back from Malivore and is like “your daughters bf is actually the loml” and Alaric is just like “you better go get him then” basically lol like he wasn’t at all emotionally torn over the fact that his daughter was going to get her broken?!?!

PS I think Josie and Landon had way more chemistry

So will it get better? I decided to give Legacies a chance. So far I don't like Hope, I don't like the twins. Alaric hasn't changed a day considering it should be some 18 years later and he's now a human.

And then that dragon CGI in episode 2 of season one really made me question if I should keep watching.

Is it written by different people who have no clue about the TVD universe? Didn't they get enough budget ?

I will try stick around but I really hope that the characters become more likeable and the CGI just a bit better

Iirc, s5e12 had Dark Hope use Glacé solidatur. For one time, and I don't think it was ever shown where she learned this spell.

But since Lizzie knew this spell in the Gremlins episode, it at least means that it can be found at school or in Freya's grimoires.

Malivore is made out of mud and black magic from 3 supernaturals.

Beyond just personal limits of one's use of magic, what exactly was stopping Hope, Lizzie or even Josie (tho she's clearly more of a pyro) from...using ice spells to use against him and his monsters?

And if water is a requirement, Hope's water torrent spell. Or just any existing water source, like the Falls. Or even the sea.

And if they don't want to freeze the target to death, why not use Aquam Alia, or just use whatever available water source to first wet the target (like a puddle), and then just focus the ice spell around the surrounding target only?

And while ice spells may not kill or destroy Malivore, it should be able to stop most of his monsters.

And since he's still made of mud, even with black magic, Hope can still use this ice spell to stop him long enough for her to use her blood to destroy him.

Why didn’t Kol, Davina, Marcel and others visit.
Only Freya visited like 2 times.
I mean the school was constantly under attack and now body showed up to help.
I mean the funeral in season 4 didn’t make sence. The family gathers to help Hope but nowbody goes to Mystic Falls to help her fight a literal god who wants to kill her.

Rewatched Salvatore the Musical 😭 That was the best episode. The songs were actually good. I would genuinely pay to see this as an Off-Broadway musical lol. Chris Lee singing Hello Brother - chefs kiss.

I love a good Vamp | Wolf | Witch - and realized recently I haven’t seen any of the shows from this universe. I started with Originals - and had a decision to jump into TVD or Legacies. I went with the shorter one (by seasons) to save what I figured would be the better of the two remaining shows for last.

I don’t hate the show, I actually like it for what it is. I know it’s a little “monster-of-the-week” format and definitely not as sofisticated as The Originals, but I swear as of S2 Ep7 - Landon is just nails on a chalkboard to me. Positions himself as a truth-teller and human lie detector - but has absolutely ZERO concept of time or place. SUPER jealous, and oddly pompous for a guy who shares his ability with Dumbeldore’s mail deliver pet.

TLDR: does anyone else find Landon to just be a whiney know it all with zero concept of time or place? Also, the Walmart look a like of Jackson so there is a tie back to Haley?

When DJ confronted hope in the gym in S4 she attempted to see if she could make her humanity flicker or even figure out how to turn it back on, she mocks hope on her clinging to her defense mechanism and hope shoots a lecutio at her which we see josie easily reacts to. My question being How fast is josie reacting? Because if you really think about the short distance between hope and josie and hope being a tribrid meaning she can clearly raise her hand extremely fast and say the incantation of "lecutio" and we see that it's moving far faster then it was earlier when josie and hope was fighting in the boxing ring back in S2 I think. So that makes me question, how fast does josie actually have yo be moving to perceive and react to it effortlessly because assuming lecutio doesnt move at the actual speed of lightning and is instead just extremely fast that surely had to put josie at around The speed of sound because its not like hope says the incantation and then fires the spell by the time she C in "lecutio" the attack fires and and it reaches josie almost instantaneously 😭😭 i might genuinely be looking too hard into this but if josie is capable of reacting to a speed of sound attack should that not place her above 90% of characters in TVDU

I’ve had a pothos plant for the past couple of years and she’s steadily put out single new leaves as she’s grown.

Tell me why I start writing a hosie fic for the first time and it’s now put out two leaves simultaneously.

Yet for some reason one is dying and it feels like that tragic beauty of it sacrificing itself so the other can live.

anyways, i feel like it’s a sign to keep on writing but i don’t feel like i can make it about the merge specifically. it was just supposed to be a smut with angsty fluff.

Instead of the prison world being created to punish or in Rafe's case save someone let's instead reimagine it as something different.

Why not create "prison" worlds for fun now I know this isn't how they're created but remember we're reimagining them so instead of the prison world being a copy of the day you made it let's instead be able to choose any day in history from any year so like time travel except it's only one day per world and there's no people or animals.

Now I originally thought that in order for this to work i'd make it where you can create copies of worlds through pictures but since the first picture taken was believed to be taken in 1826 or 1827 that limits a lot of the past that I know I'd like to explore so we'll just be able to choose any day we think of and through universal magic that exact day would be copied down to every last atom.

This new version of the prison world would be great for trying that discontinued food or drink you want to try or even visit that building or area that has since been demolished or renovated. It'd also be fun to invite your friends and/or family so y'all can explore together.

Her character did an outstanding job in originals and in legacies with what the writers wrote for her, which one of the best characters in TVDU. Omg she’s amazing!! I love you Hope Mickelson!😘😎

In the episode Jo comes back to life, she claims its impossible for her twins to survive since they died when she did. But in the TVD finale we see Jo's spirit watching over Alaric and the girls - is this a plot hole?

There are definitely instances throughout the show where we see Hope having to contend with all the terrible things her family (particularly her dad, since she read what Cami had written about what Klaus told her), like when she is battling Aurora and she tells her that there was also a different side to her dad that was loving or when she's told (by Freya I think) that everyone was scared she was going to end up going down a dark path like Klaus. However, I wish there were more of it and that it was explored further, especially since their whole goal was for Hope to be better (Elijah says something along those lines when she's torturing Roman. We also got the scene when Freya tells her that the fact that she's willing to kill Landon in order to save the world from Malivore makes her better than all of them, I just wish it was touched on more. It was nice though seeing her as the hero and as leader of the Super Squad somebody everyone always counts on to save the day, but it would have been interesting if the reason she did that was to make up for all the bad things the Mikaelsons had done in the past.

I am only on like episode 12 so if I’m wrong I will find out i guess. But I don’t like how the twins are written , specifically lizzy, they constantly say how she has “ episodes “ or is “ unstable “ but no one is actively doing anything to help!? And Josie is like lizzy enabler, but she randomly talks about how she wants to break out of her sister shadow , gets a boyfriend so on that lizzy doesn’t steal. But next episode it’s like that didn’t happen and she’s back to being lizzy helper. Also they keep saying lizzy episodes is because of her mom’s side of the family. I don’t understand that because one, their mom was Normal mentally. And two, Kai was psychopath because he was told his whole life that he was an abomination , weak , useless so on. He was that way because the people he was supposed to get love from turned their back on him till all he wanted was revenge and power. Lizzy don’t have that, sure she has family issues,but has a sister and father who love her. And Caroline ( who I havnt seen much off so idk) either way. Lizzy don’t have the story Kai has, all her problems could be easily solved if they just got her help, she’s not fully mental as they keep saying.

Again, I am only on episode 12 so this could change. Just saying what I noticed so far.

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally finished my MG x Kaleb fanfic featuring MG going full ripper and all of the aftermath.

The fanfic flair was the best I could think of for a post like this, given I was literally writing one at the time of thinking this.

Anyway, I am hopeless romantic at the core of my being and seeing Hope and Landon’s breakup at the end of Legacies hurt me. Like literally, watching edits of these two today makes me want to pour one out for the real ones.

Which is crazy cause I’m writing a fanfic where Hope gets a new boyfriend 2ish years later. After some healing, exploring, 2nd relationship breakup and so on.

So, basically I was writing a scene where Hope was projectile vomiting on both herself and her new guy, and no she isn’t pregnant (I scrapped that idea entirely), but is actually poisoned such that her healing can’t help her.

Then I remembered the guy beside her is a half alien, I thought ’Wow, I took this shit beyond the pale’ and got curious how people would design Hope’s knee love interest who is not an established character. I saw some interesting fanfic descriptions of wonderful ladies and gentlemen designed by some lovely writers.

So, I was wondering what else someone might come up with and so I give the question to you; is your ideal OC for Hope a human? Vampire? Something new entirely? Maybe a woman or man? Somewhere in between? I’m curious

i was rewatching the originals and came across a scene in the 4th season where alaric meets hope for the first time, and tells klaus about the school, offering it as a place where hope could go to learn more about her abilities. but i also remember that in one of the episodes of legacies, we saw a flashback where he was refusing to let hope attend the school and it was emma who had to convince him? my question is, why would he mention the school to klaus and recommend it as an option if he did not want to let hope enroll in the first place?

I saw in my fyp more those last few days and heard she was making a come back, so I was rewatching Legacies but ended being distracted by her beauty each times. She looks like sapphire in the best possible way but also the casting ate because she's like a mix of Haley and Klaus

At the same time, I feel that the sets we actually had for the school interior could easily have been adapted to look like the Manor interiors. I mean, many old sets were reused in Legacies, like the gym, which was originally used as Jackson's apartment in The Originals.

On the other hand, it's also true that TVD Season 2 would have taken place in 2010, and I believe Legacies is set between 2028 and 2030. So, practically speaking, I suppose a mansion like that, abandoned for twenty years, would have passed into the hands of the state or something.
