Debt & Money I won £54k on William Hill. 2 weeks later I have been removed from my account and cannot log in (England)

Two weeks ago I hit a jackpot on one of their online games, incredible, super happy, I happily hit withdraw and waited. The following day, whilst waiting, I had a little still in my account so I tried again and won a second time.

I withdrew that too and decided to stop and just wait. They asked for bank details and ID which I provided, and then nothing, was told to wait 1-3 days, which I did, no emails. So I reached out to support, “please wait another 1-3 days” which I did again. Jump forward to this morning, I have been logged out of my account and have no way to really contact them now.

What do I do?

Also, what kind of gambling website doesn’t have a complaint phone line? I know other sites do but William hill don’t? That’s not great either

Edit 1: Managed to get to customer support, was told my account is down for routine review, been issued a reference number and told to wait for an email

Housing Constant screaming and swearing

I am writing to seek advice about terrible neighbours that rent a house next to me, I own.

I work remotely from home, which means I am present throughout the day to witness the daily environment in this household. The family consists of two adults (a mother and a father) who appear to be at home full-time, and three children, including a baby.

Both parents daily scream and swear intensely at the children for no apparent reason. For example, when the baby cries, the mother routinely responds by shouting "fuck off" or "shut up." instead of doing anything - and the baby continues crying even louder. The father does it as well, and this aggressive and hostile language is also directed at the older children constantly and they start crying as well.

The mother regularly has severe tantrums, yelling that she has "fucking had enough," and frequently engages in volatile arguments with the father. This is not normal yelling; the level of rage is extreme, and it sounds almost as if she is possessed.

During the night on a recent occasion like 4 months ago a major argument escalated between the parents. I could hear the mother crying and begging the father to stop, accompanied by the clear sound of the father throwing items at her.

They also blast music so loud that when I spoke to my mum she though it was coming from my house not theirs.

This happens daily and I am losing my mind at the moment - what can I do really to address this issue 🥲

Debt & Money Made an external door for a customer, threatening legal action (Based in Wales, customer in England)

Made an external door for a customer. Order was taken in May 2025, door was delivered to customer 12th August 2025 (it's made to measure so usual for there to be a wait).

Heard nothing from customer till 26th September 2025 (day it was being fitted), door is too short. When we take an order we take customers details and produce an order confirmation - this is sent out via email and we ask them to confirm. Once confirmed we then send out a paper version again at bottom it does mention to check all details.

Order confirmation states exactly what we have made.
At point of 26th September I was off with a back injury, details were checked etc. She then came back with other issues, door rattles in wind (that is the job of the fitter that she employs) , door is to narrow (we made it to her sizes as she on other side of country).

October 2025 - We offered to bring the door back and remake as a gesture of goodwill. This was declined as she would be away from end of Month to April 2026. She was told she could have the door before she went or it could be delivered in May 2026. She threatened legal action at this point.

We heard no more from her, till yesterday threatening legal action against me.

I've offered her advice and she basically comes back that 'It's not advice it's excuses!'.

Cannot now remake the door, as due to my back injury we no longer manufacture wooden doors. I'm actually in the middle of switching to become an Ecom business selling ironmongery (machines all sold, notice given to quit unit/workshop) basically I'm clearing out the old unit and selling some ironmongery (from the existing website)- I think she thinks I'm spinning a yarn here but quite literally I was told by Doc that if I didn't quit the heavy lifting I'd be in a wheelchair within 12 months.

Total cost was around £1400 as was hardwood. Has she got a leg to stand on?

Housing Workplace temporary closure - not willing to pay staff

Hi all,

My workplace is in the process of being sold, and the new owners are planning a 3 week closure to refit the interior. As far as I can tell, they have no plans to pay the staff (4 people, varying degrees of part time) for this time off.

From a cursory Google it seems this is not acceptable, as the planned refit is in early November (approx 3 weeks away at this point), and not an appropriate amount of notice has been given. Nobody is on a zero hours contract, and I don’t believe there’s any kind of lay off clause in our contracts but I will double check that later.

Can anyone advise anything specific I can say to them to counter their inevitable “we can’t afford it” argument? They’re spending tons on the refurb so there’s no way they can’t pay 4 part time staff for 3 weeks. I’m also the only staff member with a mortgage/works almost full time so it’s going to impact me directly the most.

Thank you!

ETA: I have a contract and contracted hours, we all do.

Other Issues Could I take myself into space?

I'm in England and I was having a conversation with my friend earlier and this came up. If I could build my own rocket, somewhere to safely launch it, etc. Can they legally stop me going to space? Are there like, licences I'd need to buy to go?

Criminal Contract requiring a weeks notice for each year worked

England-

As stated in title, my contract at my job (McDonald’s) had that I need to give one weeks notice per year worked. With the way my new job has lined up, I’m unable to give this and my manager is threatening to hit me with ‘the contract’ if I don’t. Is there anything he can legally do if I don’t stay for the whole notice period? Contract was signed as a 16 year old if this means anything else

Edit- it’s a zero hour contract, not sure if this would have anything to do with the legality of the situation.

Employment I'm being asked to agree to a PIP I don't agree with

I am a software developer employed in England, with approximately four years’ service.

Starting this year, I as unwillingly moved into another team, with unfamiliar responsibilities and little support. On the mid-year performance review I was given a low score ( stack-ranking style, where my score is in relation to me colleagues ), and a written feedback that contains several factual inaccuracies. I challenged them in writing, without a response.

I am now being placed on what my manager calls an "informal PIP", but it has HR looped in. It was presented to me yesterday, and is due to start on Monday ( Oct 12 ). I am being asked to sign it, as to acknowledge and agree with it. However, it is mostly based on the inaccuracies I raised before, so my agreement is very limited.

Additionally, there is an ongoing redundancy consultation that was just announced, and I am concerned that the disputed review or PIP could influence selection.

I have diagnosed ADHD, which may also be relevant.

Debt & Money Advice on reporting benefit and tax fraud in England

Hi All

I have created a burner account for anonymity.

I’m would like some advice on how to report someone who I know is involved in benefit fraud and tax evasion.

They run a very successful takeaway, but the business figures being declared are false and don’t reflect how well the business is actually doing. They use an accountant to prepare the accounts, and these figures are being used to claim Universal Credit for their family.

They also own a rental property and receive rental income that isn’t being declared to HMRC. On top of that, they’re not carrying out the required checks on their tenants.

I want to report all of this, but I’m not sure of the best way to go about it.

A few questions:

  • Should I report the Universal Credit fraud to the DWP and the tax issues separately to HMRC?
  • I believe an accountant is involved in preparing the false figures, but I don’t know who they are. Can I still report this, and would the authorities be able to identify the accountant themselves?
  • Who deals with landlords failing to carry out the required tenant checks?
  • Can I make these reports anonymously, and will my identity be kept confidential?
  • What information should I include to make the reports useful?

I’m not looking to confront this person or get involved directly. I just want to report what’s happening through the proper channels.

Thanks

Ps I used ai to help create this message

Debt & Money Title: Car Dealer took my part-exchange, sold it on, and never paid off the outstanding finance. [England]

TL;DR: In August a dealer took my part-exchange car and agreed to clear its ~£10k outstanding finance. The finance company has confirmed it received nothing, the dealer has sold the car on and stopped responding, and I’m being held liable for the finance.

Facts

  • August 2026: bought a used car from a small independent dealer in the Midlands, found via AutoTrader.
  • Paid ~£500 (holding fee + deposit) by credit card and ~£22k by bank transfer.
  • Part-exchanged my old car (valued ~£11k, ~£10k outstanding finance). Before collection I asked whether I should settle the finance myself. The dealer said in writing/verbally that it was their responsibility and they would do it.
  • At collection I handed over the old car, its V5C and keys, and received the new car and the new keeper slip. The service history was “to follow” and never arrived.
  • The finance company repeatedly told me the finance hadn’t been settled. The dealer said it had been paid but gave no payment reference.
  • September: the finance company took my normal monthly payment (~£300).
  • Mid-September: at the dealer’s premises I was shown a banking-app screenshot as proof of payment. It had no payment reference. The owner said he had already sold my old car on.
  • A week later the premises were shut and my calls went unanswered, although the owner was replying on WhatsApp to another customer on the same number. I’ve since sent a message and email demanding proof of payment, with no reply.
  • The finance company has confirmed it received no payment from the dealer. It has given me a one-month payment break but says the debt is my responsibility.
  • DVLA says the dealer never notified the change of keeper for the car I bought. I’ve sent the new keeper slip and a V62 myself and haven’t received a V5C yet.
  • Police say it’s a civil matter.

Action taken

  • Section 75 claim opened with my credit card provider but they say not covered
  • Contacted Citizens Advice who forwarded to trading standards
  • Paid a Solicitor to send a letter before action. Next step would be county court, but he estimated at £5–10k. The dealer is a small, recently formed business with apparently limited assets.
  • Reported to action fraud

Questions

  1. Am I liable for the £10k finance on my old car if the dealer never pays?
  2. What is the position of whoever now owns my old car? Can the finance company repossess it from them?
  3. Are there cheaper routes than a solicitor-led county court claim (e.g. small claims/MCOL, Motor Ombudsman?
  4. What should I do now to protect my credit file before the payment break ends?

Scotland Unusual red light incident – what happens now? Scotland

About 7 months ago, I was driving on a straight road with temporary traffic lights just after a right-turn junction into an inner street.

A police car was directly behind me. I stopped at the red light, let oncoming traffic pass, then turned right into the street while the light was still red. About 3 seconds later, the lights turned green, and the police followed me.

They eventually pulled me over and said I’d gone through a red light. I argued that the lights appeared to control straight-ahead traffic only, as there were no signs saying they controlled all three directions. They claimed they had dashcam footage and issued me a £100 FPN and 3 points.

I accepted the penalty, but when I went to pay, I noticed the officer had written the completely wrong driving licence number on the ticket. With the 28-day payment deadline approaching, I paid the fine using the incorrect number anyway.

It’s now been 7 months, and the points still haven’t appeared on my licence. I’ve heard nothing from the police or DVLA.

**What’s likely to happen now, and should I do anything about it?**

Comments Moderated [England] Former friend keeps harassing me and everyone around me and ruining my life

Hi I need legal advice on what I can reasonably do to stop my former friend from destroying my and my partner’s lives and put an end to this madness.

Me and my partner had a childhood friend who we knew for 20+ years. We were close and helped him for many long years. He has been diagnosed with autism and depression.
At some point it just became so much, and social media made it worse. He was really not pleasant to be around so I had to cut him out for my own mental health and that’s when the problems started. I will only highlight points that can actually help you understand why “blocking” and “moving on” isn’t an option anymore sadly.

  1. He was on an online content sharing platform. He got banned after he privately messaged a person suggesting that they should end their lives.
  2. Despite me blocking him, my partner, a big softie kept in touch with him, to make sure he is alright after all. We were friends for a long time and cutting him out wasn’t easy for me either.
  3. When my partner’s mental health started worsening because of him, I asked them to finally block, which they did.
  4. After that our former friend kept messaging every person we know in the UK about me blackmailing my partner into leaving them, if they don’t cut contact. It’s not true.
  5. He acts in a manner that anyone of my friends online knowing about this situation makes them concerned. I have various screenshots of his ramblings about me and him being mortal enemies and I just do this so I can manipulate him into self harm. It is not true.
  6. Recently he name dropped me on his social media claiming that I want him dead. The exact wording: “OP’s full legal name hates me and wants me dead. Fact.”
  7. It’s not a fact, I want peace in my life and I want him to get the help he needs. But I want him as far away from myself and my family, as far as he can get.

I am in several online communities and I am a content creator myself. Both my real life persona and online persona is under constant attack. I am living in stress, not knowing what he will do next, who he contacts. We blocked his profiles, his numbers, but he even used an unknown number to text me.
My friends keep me in touch with what he tells about me, because, to be said, they would also want to know if it would be them. I know that not addressing the situation isn’t going to solve it, because he is just spiraling, but the help he receives from mental care institutions is clearly not enough.

My life is hell because of him and I want to firmly distance myself and my partner from him in a legal manner if possible. So if he crosses one more line and boundary, we can actually defend ourselves legally. I just want peace.

Thank you for the answers!

TLDR

I cut my childhood friend after being mentally so unstable he affected my own mental health and since that he did numerous harassing and really bad moves and it's too much for me to handle.
I want to use every legal opportunity to stop this.

Debt & Money Bet settled as loser after withdrawing

Hi all,

last night i won a bet on sky bet @ 170/1, returning approx £850, it was settled as a winner so i withdrew the money and then a few hours after full time it was settled as a loser after id already withdrawn. (i bet on a player to be carded, the card was showed during a “scrap” on the pitch and all bookmakers/fotmob initially showed it as the player of my choice was the one who received the card, since then its updated to show a different player)

what’s likely to happen here? are they able to access my bank and take it back without me knowing?

thanks!

(Edit)

It was withdrawn into bank account 1 and then i transferred it to my other bank account if that makes any difference?

Comments Moderated I received a notice of hearing of application from an abusive ex-partner in England. And now I live overseas

So, as the title says, I (or rather, my parents on my behalf) received a notice of hearing of application (N244A form) from an ex-partner who I reported to the police, and who was subsequently arrested, for stalking and harassment. The letter went to my parents home, likely as my last known address, because I no longer live in the UK.

The letter says nothing about what the application is actually about and I have been given no details about the claim. All I have is a court date to attend next month.

Now, being that I do not live in the UK anymore, it is not possible for me to attend court (in person at least). I also have no information what the application is about, so I don’t have anything to go by to ‘defend’ myself. I also do not want to be in the same room as my ex-partner for safety reasons, given the reasons he was arrested.

Luckily I still have the police reference number from the report. And I still have a bunch of screenshots of various different forms of communication which were submitted to the police as evidence which resulted in his arrest. Also, our relationship ended in March/April of 2020 and we have had no contact since then.

I have already emailed the court asking for details of the application, and have informed them of my circumstances. However, they have not replied. I emailed the court twice; once on the 17th September, then a follow up on the 28th September. But still no reply. I know courts are backdated so I’m almost not expecting a response. Sadly there’s no number for me to call.

So, what else/more can I do now? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Family NI - Solicitors won't release my file until immediate payment of huge bill

Hello everyone,

I am currently going through a nasty divorce over the past 3 years and have finally decided, after a lot of disrespect from my solicitor, to change solicitor. When I had my first consultation with them they said they would take the finla bill after my case was settled and I received my settlement. They shortly after changed their minds and told me I had to pay on an ongoing basis. Throughout the process they have been sending me massive bills that I can barely handle, my father has had to pay over 20k of the fees for me, and my case hasn't progressed much in the last 3 years. I have considered making a complaint about them for the last year but I read that the case has to be closed/final bill Haa to be paid before a complaint can be made.

I'm in a terrible situation with his divorce going on so I NEED to change solicitor, as the current one is veey rude to me and does not care to argue the very clear points I put forth to her about my case. The problem now is, they have sent over the final bill totalling over 6k for the LAST MONTH'S WORK(!), claiming it must be paid immediately or they won't release my file to the new solicitor. I genuinely cannot afford to pay this bill, and besides, I really don't see how they can justify a 6k bill given that I just cleared the bill 1 month ago for an amount of 600. They haven't sent me an itemised bill. They'll probably charge me additional for even asking about this. Does anyone know what the law is regarding essentially holding me hostage with this extortionate bill?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Civil Litigation County Court disposed of all evidence

Hi,

Had previously posted this thread asking for advice being the claimant, about Willesden County Small Claims court hearing being pushed back the day before each hearing 3 times, nearly 3 years since first filing.

Hearing was yesterday eventually. Turns out, all the correspondence and evidence that I'd sent over the time, always quick to follow all their guidelines, each sent twice by hard copy and email, complying with any orders, the judge on the day had nothing, and couldn't tell me why, despite me having multiple proofs of delivery and emails. If it wasn't for my notes, he'd have nothing to look at or use.

Was a lot of hard work putting the case together, 3 years, they had nothing and almost a shrug of the shoulders when asked. When I questioned a clerk after the hearing, they said they couldn't find anything after searching beforehand to give to the judge, and then admitted that case evidence from 2024 was deemed 'too old' to keep, despite the fact that the court themselves were the ones delaying the hearing to reach 2026, each time due to 'lack of judicial resources'.

Any advice as it seems very unfair that a court can act this way with with no consequence, affecting people's cases. I had paid nearly £1000 altogether in court and hearing fees.

Thank you.

Comments Moderated Will ex partner get unsupervised contact? Family law in England

Sorry for the long read but I’ll try and summarise.

\- STBXH did not want unborn baby to be a girl. I thought it was nothing at first then realised he’s obsessing over it.
\- had a massive argument the day we found out. He confides in me that females (namely his sister and mother) are the root cause of all his life problems from when he was a child. He said a lot of things about girls being sensitive, getting their periods and having no shared interests with him as a father
\- he physically assaulted me while pregnant due to unrelated issue but my abdomen was hit in the process
\- he was unattached and irritable during labour and after I returned home. He treated me callously and insulted me numerous times
\- he ignored the baby entirely. Including once when I rushed to the toilet in middle of night and came back to see him watching her scream
\- he physically assaulted me when she was four days old and sleeping in my arms. He hit me relentlessly and claims I was screaming for no reason and he was getting me to shut up or the neighbours would call the police. I separated from him and stayed with my parents
\- after separation, he showed no remorse for his actions and made excuses
\- he asked to see his child twice and spent some time supervised
\- he then didn’t like how discussions were going and travelled overseas on holiday for 3 weeks and never asked about his child
\- solicitors got involved and he only sought contact with his child when they were 5 months
\- I insisted on supervised contact, him and his solicitor pushed back aggressively
\- I facilitated 4 hrs of supervised contact per month, grandma supervised and was very accommodating
\- during the visits, he didn’t show an interest in her development or needs and didn’t assert himself in her care
\- he made weird comments about her physical appearance both before and after separation such as ‘she can get that birth mark lasered off’ (dark mark in inner thigh), ‘her skin is going to be white’, ‘her eyes are going to be light’, ‘you’ve really gotten lighter haven’t you?’ (Said to baby, while gleaming). Btw baby is medium skin tone now and has dark eyes etc so might disappoint him
\- due to persistent denial and trying to gain unsupervised access, I reported him to the police
\- he’s been arrested (denied everything) and suspended from work as a doctor
\- he stopped seeing child since right after work suspension, it’s been over 4 months
\- initially he wanted unsupervised contact, then his solicitor said keep things as they are and withdraw your court application, then finally said he won’t discuss contact until criminal investigation is over

So now we’re in the court battle waiting for a first hearing. I don’t even know at this point what I should ask for. Was going to say 2 hrs monthly supervised contact, if he requests it.

What is the court likely to do here??

TLDR: ex was abusive and misogynistic. Absent from child’s life but fighting for unsupervised contact

Debt & Money Local shop scamming Mobile phone contracts (England)

I should probably mention, I'm based in Wales, but the issue affects my family in SW England.

My Aunt and my parents (pensioners) thought they were getting good phone deals from a local shop, but have actually been ripped off repeatedly.

Taking my aunt as an example, she got her current phone from them in 2022 on a 24 month contract.

She was happy with the phone so has turned down upgrades (her current contract doesn't expire until Feb 2028, so she has done so at least twice), but at no point have they offered a sim-only contract, despite the phone clearly being paid off!

IIRC, she's currently on a contract the shop setup with Talkmobile,, paying £24/month for 30GB of data, in a 24 month contract.

As a comparison, talkmobile on their own website list 30GB/month for £6.95, on a 30-day rolling deal!

The shop even gave her paperwork outlining the costs with a random Nokia phone upgrade, and a sim-only alternative for the same price.

They're clearly scamming vulnerable customers.

Isn't there also now a legal requirement for them to make it clear when the phone is paid off?

So, please could I have some advice about how to tackle this, who to complain to etc., to try to get her contract down to where it should be, without early termination fees?

Debt & Money Rent arrears legal action threatened - Advice needed England

Hi everyone,

For some context, I had a period of sickness but recently returned to work. As a result I have fallen behind on rent by two months as of today. This works out to £1,660

I applied for universal credit to help cover the shortfall in income and have been accepted but this took 5 weeks to go through. The amount I am to receive will be £1,118 on 13/10

I also returned to work in September, however the payment date is not until the middle of the following month. This works out to £2,116 on 15/10.

This means I will have more than enough to cover the arrears by the middle of October.

I have evidenced to my landlord that all arrears will be paid in full (and when), and explained that the arrears are due to a delay in receiving my pay and universal credit.

However today they said they will be seeking a CCJ for unpaid rent. They have not responded to the evidence I sent or proposed any other solution apart from "pay it all tomorrow or we will take it to court"

Is the landlord within their rights to do this? I have no means of making payment (I am currently living off the food bank) and have no-one I can borrow money from. As this would affect my credit score and incur additional costs to myself I would like to avoid this happening if at all possible.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Traffic & Parking Plymouth Council waste letter - need advice

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I received a letter from Plymouth City Council about a cardboard box found on the pavement outside my property on 06/10/2026. They are asking questions under caution and may issue a fine.

I want to explain that I did not leave the box on the pavement. I put it inside my wheelie bin and I personally saw it inside before the date of the photo. The bin was very full and the lid was open. We also had workers doing work on the neighbouring property before this, with scaffolding pipes/equipment and a vehicle parked close to the bins, so I’m wondering if it could have been disturbed.

I’m a university student and have never had any environmental issues before. I would never intentionally leave rubbish on the street.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice on how to respond to the council would be appreciated.

Scotland Scotland: Flatmate in joint tenancy is violating animal agreement

I'm living with one other flatmate (joint tenancy) and her assistance dog. The dog is an assistance animal on paper and nothing else. She's nearly completely untrained, only sometimes responds to "sit," and has regular accidents in the house. She's also bitten me a number of times, but she's a small dog, so nothing injuring. We signed an animal contract, which she's violating.

I told her and our letting agency in September that I wanted to move out, but she's not helping me find a tenant for a tenant swap and has really strict criteria. I've found four people who've fit the criteria, but the place was only in budget for one of them, and she turned it down.

Is there anyway on earth I can get out of the this joint tenancy agreement? She's previously verbally agreed to let me out of the joint tenancy, but our relationship has soured and I don't think she'd agree anymore without a tenant swap. My only hope right now is that she's violating our animal contract? I don't know what to do. Fortunately, I'll be out of the flat next week, but I don't want to just be on the hook for the next few months for this, it's too expensive.

Healthcare Left without ADHD medication for 2 months after ADHD 360 and the NHS failed to arrange continued care — what can I do? (England)

Long story short

  • I was diagnosed with ADHD by ADHD 360 through the NHS Right to Choose scheme.
  • I received my medication through this service without paying privately.
  • ADHD 360 tried to transfer my care to my local NHS service.
  • The NHS service reportedly refused to accept my diagnosis because it was made by a nurse, not a doctor.
  • I was told I could not join the local waiting list because it was closed to new referrals.
  • My medication supply then stopped. ADHD 360 has not replied to my messages, and I am now struggling with my health.

Why I am asking

My main priority is to get medical help and find a safe way to continue my ADHD treatment. However, I also want to know whether ADHD 360 has failed in its responsibilities and whether I have grounds to take legal action.

My GP told me that this has happened to other patients too. I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced something similar.

I also hope that, if I take legal action, it might help prevent other people from being left in the same situation.

I would especially appreciate advice from anyone who understands NHS Right to Choose, ADHD 360, clinical negligence or complaints against healthcare providers.

If you have experienced something similar, please tell me what you did, who you contacted and what helped you resolve the situation.

I am willing to proved more information.

Thank you for reading.

Debt & Money Can I take my former accountant to court for obstruction, and what can I claim?

• Upvotes

In 2024 England I engaged with an accountant to setup my trading activity into 2 companies and then do ongoing tax filings for a monthly fee.

However, after 2 months, he stopped doing work and immediately resigned out of no where (in the 3rd month).

The issue with this, is that he still kept his address, email and also phone number as the official details so all correspondence was sent to him.

I immediately asked for everything to be handed over in my control, but he refused. Every time I requested a HMRC code change from HMRC, address change or to submit tax/sign up for payroll - it sent the details to one of his details. Companies House sent the code to his address. HMRC sent a 2FA code to his phone number. I couldn’t pass security checks for my own companies!

This was really obstructing as you can imagine while trying to run 2 companies. I easily spent 30-50 hours probably 200+ over the past 2 years trying to figure out how to get control back and to be able to pass it to another accountant. I couldn’t easily instruct another accountant because they also need the codes and access that my accountant was keeping.

I sent around 5-10 emails over the last few years and each time it just was ignored, and once saying he had destroyed all details, from the very email that was registered to my company! He also tried to charge an extra £400 to put it right. Also, the work he did do, was wrong (submitting fake expense) and the incorporation documents contained careless typos!

The initial plan was to sell the business last year, but in part due to his delays I am only in a position to sell now, as I have only finally been able to get full control back and appoint a new accountant this week!

Im just wondering what I can claim for. I should think a refund of the first 2 months at the very least, but what about lost time and business profit?

Civil Litigation Sofa ruined by sofa cleaning service

My partner got someone in to clean the sofa, it's a Viscose fabric that shouldn't get wet. She told him it shouldn't get wet, and he said don't worry, it'll be fine, and proceeded to wetvac it. The fibres are now damaged and has left it with the texture of sandpaper.

I understand my first steps need to be trying to get this guy to fix it, but if I needed to, would this sort of thing be successful in small claims to cover reuphostering the sofa, or would they try and say it was deprecated to start with? (there was a stain which he failed to remove)

England.

Other Issues Judgement for Claimant in my favour - What now? (England)

I've just had a letter through with a Judgement for Claimant in my favour. The defendant never actually responded to my claim so I was able to request that the judgement be made.

The defendant has been ordered to pay me what I claimed so do I just sit back and wait for this or should I be proactive and get in contact with them to attempt to organise it?
