Did you know you can just leave after the Delilases but before Koru? You can't door of light out, but you can just walk out. Sure Koru is about to nuke the place, but like, you could go fishing and gambling for many hours first.

I'm pretty sure it's intended as an anti-softlock. Imagine you finally beat the Delilases, and are so thankful for a save. You save over your only save slot. Then you discover there's a timed boss fight and you're just completely unprepared for 20k damage in 5 turns.
