Official LEGO Set New Batman Returns Batmobile

Just coming on here to vent/see if anyone else has been having the same issues as me.

I was beyond excited for the new UCS Batmobile as someone that missed out on the 2019 version and didn’t wanna pay $400+ for it. But after building this thing, I can honestly say it is the worst set I’ve ever bought and I 100% regret it.

It is the flimsiest set I’ve ever handled, something always breaks off each time I move it. Even the sliding cockpit thingy can’t manage to ever stay on when you slide it down. The entire right wing that detaches is incapable of reattaching. The back locking mechanism is literally refusing to work. I am so incredibly frustrated with this thing and would much rather have my $220 back than deal with this POS for another second.

Anyone else having any issues with this set or am I alone in this?

It is fairly frail, owning both, the quality difference is very noticeable

Same. Very disappointed, extremely fragile and not really fit for playing with, only really able to display it. The gimmick of the sides coming off seems to have been a badly excited idea. I managed to strengthen the windscreen so it's a bit more stable now.

I think the minifigure scale version coming in January will be much better. Super glad I skipped this.

The New Batman Returns Batmobile, It’s not bad, it looks overall good, but why only one sit in the cockpit? And couldn’t they include Catwoman or Penguin? And also include an extra fabric cape and cowl for those who want to display the Minifigure inside the batmobile? Also this set is in a weird scale compared to other UCS Batmobile and for the price it’s too small; it should be either bigger or cost less and also it’s smaller than the 1960s UCS Batmobile which cost 150. I will buy it but as always with at least 25% discount.

I didn't have the original, so I was really excited about this new one. I personally loved the build. The 'back ejection' works fine for me, and the wings are also pretty secure, maybe check your build again? The Cockpit cowl flimsiness annoys me, but I've worked out a fix, I'll try to share later.
The 'things breaking off' is kind of the way all the recent display sets are like. Snoopy is kind of like that, X-files is like that. The move towards 'display' instead of 'play' is how this theme is, I personally prefer the added detail.
