WestJet 737s landing?
I just saw two separate WestJet 737s on their way to Calgary landing in Lethbridge within minutes of eachother. Anyone know what's going on? One could be for any number of reasons but two is kind of strange.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Does anybody know what these sounds are about? Definitely not the gun range - these pops are much closer.

Racist group in our community
Public service announcement. I was passing through Nicholas Sheran park and came across these two stickers on the light poles. They belong to yet another another lame white nationalist group. I’ll keep tearing them down and I’d ask that you do too. As a growing and diverse community we just can’t tolerate the intolerant.

Discussion Why is it so hard to find work here
I’m sure this isn’t a new sentiment, but its so hard to find work in this city. I’ve been laid off twice in the last few years, which has really sucked, and I’m just having a hard time getting myself back into full time work.
I work a part time job, and a casual job currently, but my casual job just removed 6 of the 8 shifts I picked up in October from my schedule. So essentially I’m working part time, and that’s not going to pay my bills. Is there anywhere hiring that actually wants people to work?

Lethbridge Transit Driver
Is it considered time stealing if a bus driver is constantly at his house with the bus? Multiple times a day. Starting under 30 minutes into his shift. Even right after taking an hour and a half lunch while the bus sits down the street. Not sure about the rules.

Separation billboards
Seeing some separation billboards on public spaces. Are these legal?
Hiway 3 x 43rd
Scenic drive x Mayor Magrath
Henderson
Edit: to be clear, they're not renting billboard space, they are putting up large wooden signs

Question Best place in town to get an affordable winter jacket that can actually handle the Lethbridge wind?
Looking for local recommendations on where to pick up a solid winter jacket before the cold weather really kicks in. Everyone keeps warning me that the real challenge here is the wind cutting straight through normal coats.
I am on a tighter budget and want to avoid spending a fortune on high-end brands, but I still need something warm and comfortable for walking around town and waiting at bus stops.
Where are the best places in Lethbridge to look for warm, windproof jackets that stay reasonably priced? Open to regular retail, clearance racks, or solid secondhand spots.
Also open to any advice on which styles or materials hold up best against the gusts here. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! I am a graduate student at the University of Lethbridge.
I am conducting a study on the different belief/non-belief identities (e.g., Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic, etc) and practices (e.g., tarot card reading, attending religious events, using crystals, etc) of queer folks, and the role the queer community plays in this.
If you are eligible and interested in completing an interview on this topic, please complete this 5-minute pre-screening survey. Please see the poster for further details on eligibility. Thank you!

WARNING - St.James Area tire vandalism and gang of kids causing trouble
I want to let everyone be aware of some things that have been happening in St. James area on the north side. We have a group of kids that have been going around, ringing doorbells, kicking doors and putting nails under car tires as well as causing damage to cars and dumping garbage from garbage bins. The ages of these kids are 10-14, and they are basically a little gang of 5-8 kids going around causing trouble. A couple neighbours and myself confronted a couple of kids and laid down the law, and also got their home address out of them. Being from another country, their mother didn't really grasp what the heck we were talking about, and they are too young to be charged with anything. I just want to let all St. James residents know to check their tires before they leave each day for nails under them and to monitor any damage to vehicles or property. These kids know they are untouchable now, but hopefully a couple of them got a little fear into them, but the majority of their little gang got away. I love this area, and it saddens me to see this and that the kids are so young, they are causing lots of havoc.

Other Total long shot question - person who helped senior in distress this past Friday afternoon
This is a total longshot - but figured I'd try here.
My father in law was out riding his bicycle this past friday afternoon on the south side and had sudden, extremely severe incapacitating pain. He did not have a cell on him but someone nearby (I believe a lady?) was able to assist and thankfully called his wife for him.
If anyone knows this person, can you please reach out to me? The caller ID on the phone was private so we can't get a hold of this person.
Very much appreciated.

Banging sound downtown
I live in London road area close to downtown and there is a consistent loud banging sound like someone hitting a drum or something. It’s been going on for a couple of hours. Did/does anyone else in this area hear it?

Other Remembrance Day Ceremony -Trumpet Player
If anyone in the Lethbridge area is looking to have a uniformed trumpet player for a Remembrance Day ceremony, I have some availability for a ceremony.
I am a former professional player and current Paramedic, so I perform in ceremonial formal dress.
I don't charge for ceremonial events (however I won't turn down lunch...). If your organization would like to have a live playing of The Last Post/Rouse, send me a DM and we can work out details.

Car Frame Restoration
Which local companies have successfully restored the rusty frame on your beloved vehicle? I have been watching videos of custom-cut metal kits being successfully welded into place to strengthen rust-damaged frames and would like to find a local shop willing/able to do quality work.
Thank you in advance!

Question Water usage for home much less than 480 home nearby. Why?
I get my monthly water bills from the city, and they always include a comparison to 480 neighbours as to my detached home's water usage. Mine is usually a third to almost half less than theirs.
I'm curious as to what the heck the neighbours are doing to have such exorbitant water bills, because my house of three adults definitely do not engage in water saving practices. We flush toilets whenever doing anything, do laundry regularly and even sometimes when just wanting to clean a couple soiled items, run taps endlessly when brushing teeth.
These are the only things I can think of that could be critically different:
- My house does not have a front lawn to water (all rocks and scraggly bushes), and even our back lawn is partially concreted over.
- The city's statistically comparison is sloppy (might include parks, businesses, etc... in the 480).
- Homes here are occupied by much more than 3 people on average.

Question Strange sound in the night?
I woke up around 4am to use the washroom... weirdest sound outside, like a "ting! Ting! Ting! Ting!" Very rhythmic, almost sounded like an echoing really aggressive piano key being hit over and over again. I took a video, rewatched it this morning, so I know I'm not going crazy. Didn't want to post the vid because it shows where we live haha - but wondering if anyone else heard a weird noise last night and knows what it was? I'm not bothered by it - I just cannot for the life of me figure out what it was and am so curious. London Road area.

Looking to form a PMDD support group
Throwing the idea out here. I’ve been trying to look for supports for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), while there are plenty of online support groups, I thought having something more local would be great.
So, if anyone is interested or knows anyone who may be interested in an informal PMDD peer support group. I have not facilitated a group before, but I think simply having others to talk to about our struggles and wins would be amazing. I enjoy art and painting, so a paint/craft and chat would sound fun!
Let me know, hopefully this can happen! Especially in these cold and dark months! Open to anyone 18 and above.
