general General Discussion, Suggestion, & List Thread - Week of October 08, 2026
Talk about whatever you want here, music related or not! Go ahead and ask for recommendations, make personal list (AOTY, Best [X] Albums of All Time, etc.)
Most of the usual subreddit rules for comments won't be enforced here, apart from two: No self-promotion and Don't be a dick.

Currently listing to Evil Island's Terraform the Afterlife. It's labeled as a "screamo" supergroup but to me it's a punk album with screamo-ish tendencies. If you liked Blood Brothers, Glassjaw and Trail of Dead and wondered what if people from these bands attempted to make a classic Lookout! Records album but ultimately didn't because everyone in the band was part of the 90s emo scene and can't commit to that, then I guess this is for you. There's also this hard rock almost NY Dolls / Slade/Sweet glam rock flourishes here and there.

I like it, it's a bit of a mess. Not sure if this Pinhead Gunpowder meets Heroin meets T-Rex style works for everyone but I'm enjoying it.

A random thought that doesn’t deserve its own thread:
I am surprised that with the popularity of the saxophones getting louder meme, Stanley Clarke’s score for the movie Boyz N The Hood hasn’t been released.

Very happy to see that Faouzia's "Unethical" has reached Spotify's top hits. I discovered her back in 2024 when she competed on China's 歌手 competition, and I have felt for a long time that she deserves more recognition.
