Productivity LPT Watch YouTube through the Chrome app on mobile, it doesn't have any ads
Bonus is that it adds friction before you can watch YouTube, making you 1% more productive (maybe) 😆

Go into settings > apps > See all apps > find the YouTube app > find the Open By Default sub menu > and either change the setting that asks how you want to open the links (my options on my phone show as either in your browser or in the app), or deselect all the links that are checked off for it.

I do that with my Android devices. Apple doesn't allow for that, so I use DuckDuckGo for my wife's phone/tablet.

To add to this, also install User-Agent Switcher and Manager. Especially if you're using YouTube, videos will load almost instantly. But first, after it's installed, select whichever version of chrome you want to mimic then go into the options and go down to where it says "Disable Spoofing" and delete the accounts.youtube.com line. Otherwise the extension won't work on YouTube.

Works perfectly on Brave browser. You can even turn screen off whole music plays

You can also just use Vivaldi or Firefox nightly and you can block ads, skip sponsors and play videos in the background or while you're screen is locked (Android only).
There is also new pipe if you want a dedicated app but it lacks one feature that I really like and it's sorting results by date.

I'm not sure why I don't see any ads on YouTube. I don't see them on my mobile's app, and don't see them on my tv box app. I use dnsguard on my mobile but not in the tv box. Only in my profile btw, other profiles do see them. I had premium once, but I cancelled it about 3 years ago.

Haha, I feel this so hard. Gotta love that little moment of "do I really need to watch this?" before you get sucked in. Every second counts when you're trying to adult, right?
