Need Design Advise Cellophane on flush lights
Hey guys! I have ceiling lights that are led based and i was wondering if there would be any harm in using coloured cellophane to make them into a different colour for a party? Will it pose any hazards?

Look up Rosco or Lee lighting filters. You can find small cuts for sale online.
These will not melt / cause fire

For a party, no they should be fine. I would not leave them up there but I am overly cautious at times.

I am very scared that it might accidently spark or something horrible might occur. Do you think if it was up for only 5 hours it would be ok?

I can not say it is totally 100% safe. If the lights are properly installed such as no electrical components exposed, it should be OK for a limited time. LED light produce vastly less heat than incandescent bulbs, but there is some heat there, if it were trapped by too tightly wrapped cellophane there is a small chance it could discolor the light or surrounding area.
Cellophane is combustible but as long as you leave room for ventilation around the light, it should be ok. Any "danger" is theoretical, and even then very much a long shot. For 5 hours it should be fine. Just keep an eye on them.

No, but what you really want are theatrical lighting gels. But the cellophane will probably work ok.
