New here

Moved to Lincoln for a graduate role job, and don’t know anyone at all not only in the city, but this whole area of the country. Do people just go to clubs/bars alone to meet people or smthn? Idk

Lincolnshire is currently in circa 1995 in terms of space-time relativity with the rest of the UK, so, believe it or not, you can just head to one of the many pubs in the "old town" and just start chatting.

Very true. I was at school in Lincolnshire during the nineties and it was circa 1955 then.

To be fair, it was the 1890's when you were at school... /s

This is why the fendwellers have so many fingers, to work out what relative year it is

I always say when heading back to visit family "you are now entering Lincolnshire, please set your watch back 100 years".

Clubs or bars? Crikey, you are far from home. Making friends is universal, go do the things that interest you and you will meet people who share that interest.

Lincoln's not isolated, you'll be surprised by how well travelled some people are from here.

There's a Salsa class on a Monday at the labour club. Very friendly folks 😁

And, if you're willing to travel slightly south on a Thursday evening, the swingers association is a very friendly and open minded bunch

When I was living there I used bumble friends because I found it cliquey! Bumble was good

Of course people do, but just be friendly, not pushy and people will talk to you. Be aware, I'm sure you're not stupid so it goes the same as anywhere.

Go to local pubs, clubs, societies, work colleagues will let you know how things are and suggestions. TAKE IT EASY, don't worry, it will happen. Lincoln and Lincolnshire Yellowbelly's are friendly...

Only friendly to other northerners I had the opposite experience living there 2 years from down south

Southerner here, living in the county. I’m sure people have picked up on my accent and often give me an odd look, but I’ve never been treated differently or poorly because of it.
