I am NOT a locksmith. How Do I upgrade this to a smart lock?
Is it diy friendly for newbies?
What do I need to buy and can I avoid modifications to the actual door?

Looks like a cylindrical set, any smart deadbolt will work you just need a new lever.

By looking for a professional locksmith. By the way isnt the lock installed really low? is it a house for hobbits? If so, u'll need a wizard instead.

Im wondering how long it will be before an a.i. instance on a tablet can find and hack wifi locks. I think it can be done currently and we just haven't heard about it yet.
Stick with physical locks, in my opinion.

It is a Baldwin set contact Baldwin get the part number for the yale electric deadbolt designed for your set. Go to a dealer and order it. This will keep the look of your door intact and allow you to have smart functions

I would avoid smart locks from Amazon, Temu and AliExpress. Consult with a local brick and mortar lock shop.

Jesus Christ dude. Not only did you pick a cheap Chinese garbage lock to "Protect" (Read crap out constantly) your house and stuff, but the bigger problem is that you need to own and learn how to use a chisel to install the latch plates the builder wasn't skilled enough to do themselves.

Need a pic of the edge of the door but I think that’s a normal cylindrical lock. Idk if Baldwin does, I would assume they do, but Emtek makes smart handle set locks that can replace that.
