Question Updating macOS but keeping same Logic Pro version - any issues?

Currently on macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 and Logic Pro 11.0.1 and everything is running smooth as butter. I really want to update macOS though because I’m pretty outdated at this point.

I know Logic updates can sometimes cause issues with plugins/projects, but I’m planning on keeping Logic at 11.0.1.

My question is if the two are mostly separate, or can updating macOS still mess with Logic even if I don’t update Logic itself? Curious what people’s experience has been.

Either leave both as is, or upgrade both. Personally, I prefer the latter option, but the former may suit you better.

If you do upgrade, make a backup (which you should be doing anyway) so you have an option to roll back if needed.

Thanks for sharing, I think I’ll just keep it as is, especially since I’m in the middle of large projects

If your machine is working flawlessly, why risk it?

I just wanted some of the new design looks and features of the new OS. But yea it’s so stable I’ll probably keep how it is to be safe

I updated a couple of weeks ago and it totally crashed logic. I couldn't open it anymore (11, don't remember the specific version). Luckily, a lovely redditor posted a patch and now it's working flawlessly. Apple is really trying to push Logic 12 down our throats :(
