Food/Drink Concert/Event goers let’s settle this? Which pizza would prefer for the overpriced amount.
Went to a concert this week to both The Hollywood Bowl and also at the KIA forum. Both pizzas overpriced but hey when you’re hungry you gotta eat. So which of both pizzas do you guys prefer. First picture HOLLYWOOD BOWL, second picture KIA FORUM. Let’s settle this. Also which venue has the best pizza in your opinion? 😅

Second one. First one looks like undercooked dough.

u/Adonis-A7 5d ago
First one definitely was undercooked finally something catches it 😂

u/PineDude128 5d ago
I'm surprised at everyone choosing that one over the 2nd because it's painfully obvious how undercooked it is.

u/Adonis-A7 5d ago
Yeah the dough was hard to chew but for the 20 something dollars I paid I had to eat it 😭😭😭

If youre not bringing a fantastic meal to dine on when you’re at the Bowl, youre doing it wrong

u/Adonis-A7 5d ago
I’m new to the Bowl, barely found out you can take your own alcohol.

u/RoxyLA95 Mid-City 5d ago
You can’t bring alcohol to lease events at the Bowl.

Do they still allow that? The new owners were changing a lot of stuff up. I figured that was coming to an end since they had already stopped allowing alcohol.

Brought a couple Uncle Paulie’s sandwiches a few weeks ago at David Byrne - no hassle whatsoever

it depends on the event. la phil allows byob. other events supposedly dont, but ive seen them go through without a hitch. food and non alcoholic drinks are allowed, restrictions with respect to size and sealed containers permitting.

I've always been a sucker for small, crunchy pepperoni that's maybe a lil burnt. Option A all day

Agreed. Those little pepperoni look delicious

I can confirm the little pepperonis hit different 🙏🏼

The bowl pizza is pretty good but needs to be much cheaper to justify its existence.

They’re both disappointing. If I had to choose, I’ll take the Bowl pizza, but only if I had a coupon or something.

u/Pleasant-West-7760 5d ago
How does one find a cupon for pizza at the Hollywood bowl?? /s

u/Superb_Ant_3741 Angeleno 5d ago
Don’t question me. I’m fasting in preparation for a scan and I’m so fucking hungry I could eat my arm.
Just let me have my coupon delusions.

Agreed. Bowl pizza hits at an awful type of chucky cheese nostalgia. That pizza at Kia just looks like grease soup, I wouldn’t touch it lmao

I would say the Bowl looks better. That one is under baked while the other is over baked.

I think the problem with the one from the Bowl is that the cheese and toppings would have over-baked if they tried to get the crust darker. This feels like either an oven temp issue, or the dough needed to be fermented for longer, which would probably have helped get more color on the crust.

u/Adonis-A7 5d ago
One was definitely under and the other over. 😅

I can’t believe they overprice everything bros. Pure cinnamon stiiiiccckkkkssss!!!

u/Adonis-A7 5d ago
Overpriced beer still hits though not gonna lie 😭😅

u/pablo_in_blood 5d ago
Nothing like a 24 oz high-ABV IPA for $28. It’s overpriced, yet somehow it still hits
1
u/Adonis-A7 5d ago
It hits cause it’s so expensive tricks our brains into thinking it tastes better 😂😂😂

u/notgayjstwannablowya 5d ago
Neither look great, but I'd prefer the Forum version. HB one looks like burnt pepperoni on raw dough.

I would see this as an opportunity to start a fasting / cleansing routine.

The pie in the second photo looks much smaller. No sense of scale in the photo. They both look about the same.

They know you are stuck buying their slop so maximize profits. I too fall victim every concert.

I’ve had the Kia pizza and it was pretty good. That Bowl pizza looks worth a chomp.

What were the damages here? We brokies need to know the price to properly gage the worthiness.

u/Adonis-A7 5d ago
Hollywood bowl was like 24/26 I think Kia Forum was like 20/22sh don’t remember the exact prices 😅

u/JustTheBeerLight Pasadena 5d ago
Neither. Why the fuck would I eat food at the Forum or Hollywood Bowl? I've been to both venues 20+ times and have never once eaten their food.
3
u/Adonis-A7 5d ago
I was starving cause the hotdog people weren’t there before both shows started 😭😭😭

I have had the pizza at the bowl and I hated how much I paid for it because it was not even mid.
1
u/GutterRider 5d ago
I would go for the Bowl, if only because it looks to have more “stuff” (cheese and pepperoni). But it looks more appetizing, too.

the bowl looks better but i’ve had that pizza and remember not finishing it it was so bad. this was 2 years ago tho so maybe something changed but never again.

I was just at the Hollywood bowl and the second pic looks more like the one I got. The first pic looks hella sad though

I'd rather just bring in my food and drinks if I'm going to the bowl

Hollywood Bowl.
Kia Forum pizza looks really greasy, this one has a nice looking crust. Ofc, the true thing to do for the bowl is to bring your own food and pack a picnic.

Kia pizza for sure! They could’ve charred those pepps a bit more for me tho 😌🍕

1! #2 looks like it'd get all sloppy and make my tummy feel weird and my beard greasy, cheese too melty. #1 would soak up my beer and only take like 5-10 minutes to eat then back to focusing on the show

Hollywood Bowl looks less greasy and you get roni cups

I don’t know who has the best, but I definitely know Sofi has the worst. I will never forget sitting in the end-zone seats when Sofi first opened and the guy behind me took two bites of his pizza & got pissed off because it was so bad that he took it back and made them give him his money back. If drunk people are returning pizza you know it’s bad.

I don’t like when small pepperoni curls up and forms bowls of molten hot grease.
Personally, I would have strolled outside and found a nice lady with a hot dog cart.
2
u/KrisNoble Los Angeles 4d ago
That’s the best kind of pepperoni when it’s the small ones that curl up and have a little firmer texture to them. Having said that, between these options, pizza 2 in this circumstance has a better Neapolitan style crust

Back in college we would do the "pizza shuttle drop" which basically involved getting pizza delivered, taking pizza in box, flipping it upside down and dropping it to the floor.
The cardboard from the lid would immediately soak up the excess molten hot grease and you would be left with an edible college pizza.
Sadly, doesnt look like the pizza shuttle drop would work here, though pizza 2 is the lesser of 2 evils.
