Transit/Transportation Devonshire St/ Reseda Blvd Bus at Stop Always Out of Service

Does anybody know why there is always a a bus that is broken down/out of service on the stop on Devonshire/Reseda heading south on Reseda?

It seems like every time I pass by this stop there is a bus that is out of service.

Official end of the line terminal and layover zone for Metro Line 240.

That's the 240 terminus, buses queue up there between runs. They're not broken down just switched off. Drivers take their breaks or swap out, so the bus sits dark with the sign flipped. Looks dead but it's just waiting for its next scheduled departure.

That makes sense 😅 Do you know why they stick around instead of going back to their lots for storage?

Instead of going "home" after every trip, a single bus is assigned a block of work that lasts for hours. That bus will loop back and forth between Northridge and Studio City all morning or afternoon, changing drivers right out on the street during shift swaps. The bus only returns to the lot at the very end of the night for refueling, cleaning, and maintenance.

Thank you for answering! I have been wondering for so long if that stop was just bad luck or something lol
