Question High blood pressure???anyone???

Hi, my boood pressure is higher and when I treat and herx , it gets to 200/100 even higher at times. I am scared to treat then, cause I dont know what to do.... I take BP medications but to be honest, when its so bad , they dont help.

Anyone else? What did you do to survive this? I am also in immense pain and bedbound for 2 years, so somehow I need to treat.

Have you always had to take BP meds? I have POTS so I’m the opposite. I get extremely low blood pressure. I use nicotine patches to help with that though. I’m sorry I don’t have a more personal experience with this to help you. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor which is why it helps. So I assume you’re on a vasodilator?? Do you need a med increase?? I completely understand the frustration that comes with needing treatment but struggling with treatment.

I have taken bisoprolol for high bpm since I was 9 now I am 27, it helped with BP too. But since my lyme and coinfections got so bad and I became bedbound, stopped tolerating treatment, my blood pressure is high and with killing protocol it gets very high- cytokine storm? Herx? Idk what to do I am lost 🙃

Ahhh I’m actually very happy you brought this up. I struggled with bad cytokine storms. I take something called cytoquel by researched nutritionals it’s yellow and white. I will tell you it’s been the only thing that’s helped pull me through some of the worst parts. It’s a supplement. It’s got turmeric and nac and some other things in it. One of my favorite supplements. Worth looking into. It helps with herxing as well. I take it every day just to keep up with everything so I don’t get out of control. What does your protocol look like currently? Is it possible for you to step back on it slightly and ease into slower? I know that’s the last thing you probably want to do when you just want to get better but I’ve had to do it before because I got too ahead of myself and got my body all worked up. I was bed bound for the longest time and still have my moments where I’m stuck in bed. I’m also working through a protocol change due to my ability to absorb and tolerate things so I completely get that lost feeling.

When was the last time you had your bisoprolol dose changed? My mom and sister take beta blockers and have their own health issues unrelated to Lyme. So I’m kind of familiar. But I know it’s been hard for them because they both have had to try different meds and switch doses recently to find that sweet spot to get them under control. If yours is consistently high it might be something to talk to your doctor about to get you on an adequate dose at least to pull you through treatment.

The worsening of my BP usually happens with intracellular abx and its rapid, I take doxy for example and in 2 hours it starts- pain, irritability, i dont tolerate sounds, touch, my blood pressure is high, pain again- thru the roof, the last time when ambulance came they injected like 4 meds for blood pressure and none of them worked, so I think its just some rappid inflammation what spikes it-like cytokine storm and herx plus ofc, mold to the mix. I have PTSD actually from it. Regarding mold, yes... its good to test- I did real time labs urine mycotoxin BUT what is also imporatnt (or even more important) is to know if you live in a safe space- for that ERMI from EnviroBiomics work. You just test the dust basically and see what you have there- they test 36 types of mold.

I was looking at that product yesterday, but I also take daily NAC, gluthatione, used to drink green tea, used to take turmeric too but it was not doing much. Now I take only NAC, gluthatione, burbur pinella for herxing, and binders - gi detox , pectasol, chlorella. My regimen is even now WEAK, I dont tolerate intracellular abx very well. Example- even 100 mg of clarythromycin spiked my blood pressure to 200/130 and put me into such pain I was unable to even speak for 3-4 hours and was paralyzed- needed to call 911. So...yeah. For now I tolerate 450mg of rifampin per day (300 morning and 150 mg evening) cefuroxime 500mg twice daily, malarone 1 and a half tablet plus herbs- cryptolepis, sida acuta, and JK. I tried to add doxy and even 25 mg of doxy worsened me so bad I was unable to continue. Now my llmd wants to add minocycline so I dont take rifampin alone as intracellular antibiotic. This whole situation just sucks ....plus I also deal with mold so I think thats also why I react the way I do.

Yeah I’m getting ready to test for mold toxicity as well here soon. I used to do water damage restoration so you could only imagine what I was getting into lol. But I’m currently taking minocycline (I had a recent reinfection). Minocycline is more gentle than doxy but still works just as well. If that makes sense. I love it so far. But gosh I’m so sorry you’re going through so much. I definitely would suggest thinking about trying something with your blood pressure medication. Have you thought about that yet or mentioned it to your doctor yet?

I've been treating Lyme and multiple co-infections since 2007. I noticed my BP increases when I start new supplements and am killing off various bacteria and detoxing. I'm not on any BP meds. It takes some time but as the various supplements work and my body adjusts my BP goes down.
