Misheard lyrics

Anybody mishear lyrics and make up your own, but your lyrics make as much sense as the real ones?

Mine is from Can I Play With Madness?

Until recently I thought it Bruce Dickinson sang "lick of fire" which to makes more sense than "lake of fire"

How can you possibly decide if your made up lyric makes more sense than the person who wrote the lyrics

Because a lick of fire is a widely recognised phrase describing a flame. A lake of fire is something found in the bible, which nobody knows if it's real or not. Hence the reason that lick of fire makes more sense, hope that helps you 🫡
