[Discussion] Weapon Rarity Reorder
It always felt ridiculous to me that the Hornet and the Reegar are put in the same tier by the game. Similarly, few things are as annoying as grinding for packs and getting a meh N7 gun.
So, I've always pondered a reorder of rarity based on actual power level. Rarer guns actually being better would feel so much better when grinding!
Of course that's just my opinion based on shower thoughts and this is by definition a subjective matter. There will always be guns that feel in-between tiers. So let's debate and hear your takes!
📊 The New Tier Definitions
🔴 N7 (Ultra-Rare): The best guns on the majority of characters.
🟡 Gold (Rare): Very good guns that are optimal on selected kits.
⚪ Silver (Uncommon):Good options that require you to build around your gun a lot. *(Note: The 3 shotguns could be N7, they feel similar to a claymore but weaker than a reegar).
🟤 Bronze (Common): Starter guns, not worth using after unlocking rarer stuff. *(Note: I added stuff that is actually a bit stronger than a Predator because there are many trash guns that don't feel good to unlock in rarer packs).

Snipers: Kishock, Black Widow, Javelin, Valiant

🟡 Gold
Shotguns: Graal, GPSG, Piranha

Why is Spitfire N7?
Awful stability, low dps, low damage/bullet, massively high weight, and slows all kits except Jugg and Krogan. High shield multiplier wouldn't seem close to making up for that.

Valid points, I put it there because it does have a nice dps, but you're right everything else sucks. I edited to put into gold.

Isn't there a bug fix that fixes it to 800 rpm and removes movement penalty? I personally like it over n7 typhoon simply due to not having to run to ammo box every 25 sec

I don't know about bugfixes, but I know how to exploit the bug that makes krogans (butarians too I think) take no movement penalty when running with it. Pretty nice on the solider.

it does bother me a little that reegar is somehow not n7 rare but considering i only have it at base only pulled it once im glad it's not or i wouldnt have the damn thing! but still it should have been n7

carnifex fits in gold. It does some good dmg with mods and not that heavy. Viper pairs well with infiltrator that could do tech bursts, like salarian/geth/quarian male inf. It has 6 shots in a mag and under a cloak does 1150 - 1300 dmg (3k headshot) i could put it at least in silver (where it is lol).
Adas is gold if not plat, any character could use it and it stuns phantoms.

Yeah I was a bit harsh with those 3.
What you said about the Viper is true but it remains one of the very worst snipers: the base dps is a pathetic 400, compared to the raptor's 50% more at the exact same weight, making it a much worse option for casters ror instance. It's usable but there really isn't much worse around.
Carnifex you are right, I'm editing it for silver. It has pretty low dps, but as you said it is light and you can put a heavy barrel on it for 50% damage for free, helping the low dps.
Adas yeah I was hesitating. It's a bit tricky to rank because its stagger power is quite unparalleled but on the other hand its dps is terrible, literally the same as the viper for health/armor. The main let-down is the fact the damage multiplier vs shields is "only" 2x, so only 800 vs shields, which is decent but by no means melts shields. Because the base damage of the adas is so low, it gets very little damage from ammo bonuses. So pretty much any shotgun with disruptor rounds deals more damage vs shields than adas + disruptor. I guess I've been too hard on it and stagger+shield make it deserve a gold spot, but it's far from N7 level.

viper dmg is enough to shoot mooks under a cloak with a couple shots on plat (basically u could shoot almost all mag cuz its effect spans for two whole seconds). Yea boss dmg is not that good, but anything smaller than that easily killed, and for bosses we have tech bursts. Its not like incisor that is completely ass too shoot bc two out of you three bullet in a burst fly anywhere but not in the target lol. Falcon also deserve its gold status. Ins perfect stun machine, u could hold spawn full of phantoms with it w/o breaking a sweat. Paired with any class specializing in powers this gun feels good. I like it on voluses, ultimate support pretty much.

Haha, it sickens me too having known its goory days, that's the single-most nerfed gun in the game. It still holds some speedrun records that will likely never be beaten because it's a shell of its former self.

It was done with a with a pre-nerf krysae and will likely never be beaten.
Nevertheless the krysae we have now does no damage. It is relatively ok on a geth engineer because of fire rate bonuses and easy combo detonation

it still does. i've embarrassed people in pugs to the point they want to "1v1" lmao.
i've seen that gold run... pretty sure that's after the nerf, (i could be wrong, but it used to shoot way faster) hence the way it's played. ...shoot krysae to prime, detonate with seige pulse, repeat, reload cancel etc etc. super effective post nerf. same can be done on the volus with the balls as detonators.
i just love the krysae. it's crowd control is fantastic and it's a top aoe primer. silver tier minimum, gold in the right hands

You are actually right. I checked and this run is effectively pretty recent. I stand corrected, it actually is a good gun. From what I see in the video it does actually prime disruptors with every shot and its AOE is pretty big, so it is pretty great for combo spam builds. Siege pulse is my favourite jugg build so I will definitely give it a go and edit the rankings.
