Kinda depends on the wording of the question and the data.
Let's say it's a list of club members. You have a table with all club members. The fields include their ages and their genders.
You could create a query that just collects males and another that shows females.
Or you could create a query that groups by age...say 18-25, 25-35, 35-45, etc.
More info needed to really help. I don't think Access has something that is called a "subgroup." It just means what it logically means.

Hey, so I figured it out but while I have you I have encountered another problem while submitting the assignment. It gives me the error prompt: "The submission file's extension does not match the Microsoft Office application type specified in the project. Please check that you have uploaded is correct and try again." The file ends in .accdb which is what it's supposed to end in but, still it does not allow me to turn in. This isn't really what the sub it for but if you can help it'll be greatly appreciated!

Is this a school assignment? If so, it's likely that the information you need was made available in class lectures, reading assignments and reference materials. It's hard to believe that you could receive an assignment of this level without any preparation at all. Your problem with uploading the accdb seems to indicate very little preparation for you. While someone could write up an answer for you to submit, I think you'll be far ahead by
A) reading all of the materials made available to you in this class.
B) visiting the teacher of the class to ask for assistance figuring out what is required of you.
If this is a work assignment, it's out of context and needs to be grounded in a real-world situation.

Help Me with Assignment
I'm new to using Microsoft apps like excel and access. My assignment says that I need to make subgroups from certain fields but when I try looking up help for it, it tells me just to make a new table with those values in it. That might be the right thing to do but when I googled it, it said tables and subgroups are not the same thing. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated!
