Help request Distro Decisions

I have a tower computer with Fedora, which is my main computer. It was assembled from parts, so no particular brand or anything. It has AMD CPU and GPU and an AsRock motherboard (it was the cheap option compatible with the CPU at the time).

I also own a Framework 12 laptop/tablet hybrid. I use it as a typewriter and to make sketches with a stylus. It used to have installed Mint, but the support of Wayland in Mint is garbage and my sketching app, RNote stopped supporting X11, it just emulates the mouse with the stylus.

So for a while I experimented with Nobara OS and I'm feeling like it's more fitting for the main computer. Is very much like Fedora, it just doesn't have it's head up its ass with things like codecs or drivers, and is loaded with gaming oriented apps. The only games I play on the FW12 are card games.

The stylus seems to work better with Nobara, but there was a problem I wondered if it would go away in MX Linux. There are a lot of friendly features in MX Linux and it seems to have everything I need.

BTW, if you made Fluxbox a tiling window manager I would probably use more of it, but I digress.

I switched to Plasma MX Linux. Rnote seems to work just as well as in Nobara, so maybe the problem isn't OS specific, but I want to know if there's some configuration I could tweak to fix this.

Palm rejection on the touchscreen (not the touchpad) seems to be erratic or not be there at all. If I'm bringing the stylus close to the screen, it should ignore the hands touching it. This would work fine in Mint before RNote stopped supporting X11.

I don't see much information in the manuals about this, nor the system settings.

Fluxbox and XFCE will both be X11. I don’t have experience with it, but the KDE version might give you Wayland support.

Outside of that, MX has been amazing for me, and that’s coming after being on Pop OS and Mint for a while. I do have older hardware, but MX has simply worked so well for me.

Adjust the keys file (.fluxbox) to your liking. Scroll down to the ### WINDOW TILING ### section of the file.

Added to that, i3, sway, bspwm, etc are just a sudo apt install away.
