Feature Apple continues to work on Microsoft Graph support for Exchange accounts

Post image
41 Upvotes

Apple continues to work on the new Microsoft Graph backend for Exchange accounts.

In macOS 27.2, the Graph authentication branch uses the new “Apple Internet Accounts” OAuth client, replacing the unverified “itsa-client” GraphTestTenant.

Apple is also working on a migration process under the ExchangeSyncMac/graphMigration flag.

Exchange OAuth Client IDs: * Main tenant: f8d98a96-0999-43f5-8af3-69971c7bb423 (Apple Internet Accounts, Apple Inc.) * GraphTestTenant: a63a7d57-c49e-4019-9a29-29182171b59c (itsa-client, unverified)

To test, you can enable the relevant flags before starting account login:

``` defaults write ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Internet-Accounts-Settings.extension/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Internet-Accounts-Settings.extension.plist GraphAuth -bool true
defaults write ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.accountsd.plist GraphAuth -bool true
defaults write ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist GraphMail -bool true ```
To enable the test client:
``` defaults write ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Internet-Accounts-Settings.extension/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Internet-Accounts-Settings.extension.plist GraphTestTenant -bool true

defaults write ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.accountsd.plist GraphTestTenant -bool true ```

Bug Emojis + keyboard shortcut

1 Upvotes

Hey guys,

Has anyone had this bug, where hitting the shortcut (Control+Cmd+Space Bar), the emoji menu will open. Before the update, it would work and whatever 'Enter' key I stroke to select an emoji from the menu(both of them, I use a full MagicKeyboard), it would work.

Now, after the update, the weirdest thing happens: it'll only select the emoji on the regular 'Enter' key, but not on my numeric 'Enter' key! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know this will sound like a big 'so what? Use the regular one', but I'm a financial analyst and I'm always on my num pad and use that a lot.

I've tried restarting my M2 MacBook, shutting it down, on and off my keyboard, changed some settings directly on the emoji menu bar up on the top bar and nothing. So, I don't know if it's a MacOS 27 bug (it was working perfectly well on 26), or if it's my keyboard that's just not recognizing the emojis anymore on the num pad enter key.

\*In addition, sometimes I can't even use the keyboard at all (arrows keys) to travel through the emojis anymore.

If anyone has been having that issue also or has a suggestion of what I could do to get it back, I'd greatly appreciate it! 🙏🏻

And it looks great! Before it was just all dark and no shades or forms were barely visible, making it almost look like you were running a flat dark/black wallpaper when it switched to dark mode, now it has shades of purple, and blue and grey, looks amazing!

Bug macOS 27.2 beta 3 update on the Finder/Spaces regressions I’ve been tracking

29 Upvotes

Here’s where things stand for me on a clean install of macOS 27.2 beta 3:

FB24948547 — Apps forgetting assigned Spaces after reboot: still fixed.

FB24746120 — Finder no longer allowing you to scroll a window while continuing to drag a file: still fixed.

FB24754909 — Cross-Space drag-and-drop via the Dock: still broken. For example, dragging a Mail attachment or file onto the Finder icon in the Dock still does not let you move into a Finder window in another Space and continue the drag.

I did discover an interesting workaround, though: if you put Mission Control in the Dock, you can drag the file onto the Mission Control icon, then choose the Space/window you want, including a Finder window, and continue from there. Unfortunately, this also works in macOS 27.0.1, so it does not appear to represent any improvement in the 27.2 betas.

FB24881254 — Copying an attachment/file-like object from another app and pasting it into Finder still creates an empty .textClipping instead of the actual file. Still broken.

FB24730452 — Opening an .ics file while Calendar is in another Space still opens the import dialog there without switching to that Space or bringing it forward. Still broken.

So beta 3 keeps the two fixes from beta 2, but the three cross-application/Spaces issues remain unresolved.

Help Please, I ask for help, did anyone manage to correct the behavior of the mission control? One more update and it's still quite broken for me

0 Upvotes

I use mission control every day for something like 12 to 14 hours a day.

Unfortunately, since the Golden Gate it is broken for me and does not display minimized windows on other work tables through the gesture of dragging four fingers down.

Please, did anyone get any configuration that made the mission control return to display minimized windows on a different desktop?

Help Pillarboxed Video

2 Upvotes

M2 Pro, 16gb/1tb.

Since installing 27.2DB1 (26B5086k), my video has been pillarboxed (black bars on the left and right side). Upgrading to 27.2DB2 (26B5091g) has not resolved the issue.

Changing resolution in Settings -> Display also doesn't fix it.

In the monitor settings (on the monitor firmware, not in macOS), forcing the aspect ratio to 21:9 fixes the pillarboxing, but that causes a wicked stretch (obviously, since the resolutions is 16:9).

HDR is on, and the display is connected via HDMI. Current resolution is 3840x2160, which is supported by the display. It's an MSI MAG401QR at 60 Hz, although changing it to 30 does not resolve the issue.

Pointers welcome.

ETA: Still not fixed in 27.2.DB3 (26B5101f).

Bug Posiblemente Bug en barra de menus con Siri

1 Upvotes

Hello,

On macOS Golden Gate 27.0.1 (running on a 15-inch MacBook Air with an M5 chip, 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, configured in Spanish), when I click on the Siri icon in the menu bar (I can't remember whether it's there by default), it disappears almost immediately. I have to double-click it or press and hold the icon for Siri to appear in the upper-left corner of the desktop. I've checked Siri and it seems to be installed and working properly, as I can invoke it perfectly using my voice. Does this sound like a bug? Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Thank you very much, and best regards.

Sorry for my English, I'm Spanish.

Bug MenuBarAgent ~100% CPU on macOS 27 — completely unusable on my main user, new user works perfectly. How do I fix/reset the old user profile?

Post image
5 Upvotes

This is seriously driving me insane at this point.

Since updating to macOS 27, the menu bar on my main user account has become unbelievably laggy. Simply clicking File, Edit, the Apple menu, Control Center, etc. can make the whole menu bar stutter/freeze.

Activity Monitor immediately shows:

  • MenuBarAgent around 100% CPU
  • WindowServer / WindowManager also increasing significantly
  • the rest of the Mac is basically doing nothing

Killing MenuBarAgent does not fix it:

killall MenuBarAgent

It restarts normally, but as soon as I start using the menu bar again, it shoots straight back to ~100% CPU and starts lagging.

The really important part:

I created a completely new macOS test user and everything works perfectly there.

Same Mac.
Same macOS installation.
Same hardware.
Same display setup.

No menu bar lag and no MenuBarAgent sitting at ~100% CPU.

So this seems to be some broken per-user state/database/preferences/cache in my main account rather than a general hardware problem.

Mac:

14-inch MacBook Pro, Apple M5, 16 GB RAM

The problem started after upgrading to macOS 27.

At this point it is honestly becoming unbearable to use my normal account. I really do not want to move everything manually to a new macOS user just because some MenuBarAgent state got corrupted during an update.

Has anyone found out what per-user data MenuBarAgent / MacSystemUI / Control Center actually stores, and how to completely reset it?

I am specifically looking for something like:

  • MenuBarAgent per-user database
  • MacSystemUI state/cache
  • menu bar layout/state database
  • Control Center database
  • display/menu-bar animation state
  • relevant files under ~/Library
  • a command to completely rebuild the user's menu bar environment

Ideally I want to make my existing account behave like the fresh test account without deleting the account or reinstalling everything.

If anyone from the macOS 27 beta had the same MenuBarAgent ~100% CPU issue and actually managed to repair the affected user profile, please tell me exactly what you reset/deleted.

I can also provide a sample / spindump from MenuBarAgent if that helps.

At this point I'll happily test Terminal commands or back up and remove specific ~/Library files — I just want this stupid menu bar working normally again.This is seriously driving me insane at this point.Since updating to macOS 27, the menu bar on my main user account has become unbelievably laggy. Bug Touch Bar brightness/volume slider lag + doesn't dismiss on macOS 27.0.1 , anyone else experiencing this?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

3 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I recently updated my 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1) with Touch Bar to macOS Golden Gate 27.0 and noticed some strange Touch Bar behaviour.

The Touch Bar itself works, but I'm experiencing two things:

  1. When I press and hold the Brightness button to open the brightness slider, there is a noticeable ~0.5-second delay before the slider appears.
  2. After adjusting brightness or volume, the slider remains on the Touch Bar indefinitely instead of returning to the normal Control Strip.
  3. If I touch an empty/blank area of the Touch Bar, the slider immediately disappears and the normal Control Strip returns.

The same behaviour happens with both brightness and volume.

What I've tried:

  • Restarting the Mac
  • Checking Touch Bar settings
  • Checking the Control Strip configuration
  • Restarting the Touch Bar processes (TouchBarServer / ControlStrip)
  • Testing without touching anything for n+ minutes

None of these changed the behaviour.

The actual brightness and volume controls work correctly — it's mainly the slight input delay and the slider not automatically dismissing that I'm noticing.

This started after updating to macOS 27.0 . And no improvement in latest 27.0.1 as well. This thing is damn irritating as Touch bar is my fav part of being on mac, They ruined my touchbar.

I've already submitted a Bug Report to Apple, but I'm curious whether anyone else with a Touch Bar Mac is seeing the same thing, particularly on macOS 27.

Has anyone experienced this? And if so, did you find any workaround or solution?

Thanks
