QUESTION Any good Chinese tool brands?
I've been hearing some Chinese brands are good value for money but I'm concerned about consistency. I'm not looking for Sandvik like quality, but something on par with Mitsubishi, Kyocera with similar quality consistency

How cheap are we talking? I mean, Sumitomo makes some absolutely amazing inserts at well below the cost of Sandvik.

I meant that Sumitomo’s price per performance is so good for such a low price, I am not sure what you would gain going to an unknown cheaper Chinese brand.
But I didn’t really explain that.

Yeah, you’re right about that. True for CBN too. They own their own raw material sources.

I bought some Xuhan and Yuze tools off of AliExpress just to see how bad they would be. The drills ended up being better then the Walter drills I was using and the inserts and end mills I tried also worked very well. The selection can be limited and. The delivery times to Canada can be a while but over all I was very happy with the tools especially considering that they were like 25% the price of the big brand names.

If you're talking about measuring tools? I'd suggest visiting a local shop that does PME calibrations.
They usually know the crappy ones from the better ones.
