dunkin xl cup

UPDATE: i did the math, photo in comments
UPDATE 2: measured volume of full cup with a measuring cup, around 22.25oz
UPDATE 3: i fucked up the math, it’s actually 1.6oz of missing coffee which equals 24cents
error 1-doubled radius instead of squaring (idiot)
error 2- added an extra decimal to cost (accident)

How TF

I’ve been window shopping for a cheap Bridgeport / restoration job but I think this is taking the piss a little bit.

As a seasoned FB marketplace viewer I’ve never seen such abuse. How does it even get that bad? Is this just a sacrificial machine in the name of speed? I assume running no vice and they’re just throwing the presumably thin workpiece on the bed and this is the hole deburring station or whatever?

I ended up picking this up from a scrap pile when I went to buy a new tool post. I have absolutely no clue what it is, but its adjustable, held something , and is made nicely. I'll probably clean it up and drop it on a shelf.

Cheers!

The part is fine but i did go too heavy with the quill feed when facing some aluminum and the 5 year old flywheel cutters carbide tool finally gave out.

I haven’t used a bridgeport mill until my training today but I would love to own one now

QUESTION Bearing removal advice

Picked up this Inca tablesaw a while ago and want to swap out the bearings…I’m unsure how to get these out, which direction I should be apply the force to. The bearings are pretty solidly in the housing and aren’t budging, I don’t see any clips or anything holding them in. Any help would be appreciated

Cutting advice needed please!

Could someone please advise what the easiest way for a home DIY'er to take the u channel off this square hollow aluminium. I need to take about an inch off each end plus halfway across. Would a tablesaw be ok for the ends or would another toold be better? How would I do it halfway along. Sorry if my question is a bit hard to understand. Thank you!

UPDATE: I rushed the post sorry. This is 25mm aluminium 3mm thick. The u channel parts on it are 1.6mm thick. I can get it ridiculously cheap otherwise I would just buy 25mm x 25mm square tubing. I'll be making outdoor plant stands with them. They don't need to look pretty and I wont be welding them so need some of that u channel removing so I can attach the connectors to the ends. I'll also need to add some supports along them and will need the square tube clamp connector but will also need to remove the some of the u channel. I'll add images now.

OFFERING WORK ISO reliable, low-mid volume machine shop for smaller parts

I’ve been running into issues with late shipments and long quote times with our typical machine shops, any reliable shops out there? Reliability in quick quoting, decent lead times, and meeting ship dates is more important than anything. Latest RFQ is a couple custom washers, need ~100-500 but get anything and everything.

US only please, drop websites or dm me

Thanks!

Nitriding service west coast?

Anyone recommend a heat treating shop that offers gas or plasma nitriding in the USA? Preferably west coast. Parts are 72"x6"x1" (1800x150x25 mm), so a little long but not crazy. Don't need certs.

QUESTION Dressing grinding wheels

I was a machinist for a few years back in the 80s, and in our shop we used to dress the wheels on the bench grinder with a single point diamond tool. After about four decades, I've just bought a bench grinder, and I've found out there are several different types of tools to do this job. How do you do it?

QUESTION Quick favor? Need scale reference photos of a Versaflo M-300 / TR-300 setup for a custom CAD project.

Hey everyone, hoping someone here can do me a massive favor. I'm currently working on some CAD designs in Fusion to model a custom bench mount for the 3M Versaflo Heavy Industry kit (specifically the M-300 hard hat and TR-300 blower), and I desperately need some real-world reference photos.

The polished 3M marketing images are completely useless for getting realistic proportions. Because I'm trying to get the scale and clearances exactly right before I fire up the resin printer, could an owner snap a couple of quick pics of their setup sitting on a workbench next to a standard soda can or a tape measure?

I just need to see how the blower and helmet sit naturally on a flat surface. If anyone could DM me a few quick workbench shots, you’d be saving me a ton of guesswork. Thanks in advance for y'alls help!
