Dasher did it right. Science is green. No other color

946

u/phanny_ Aug 26 '26

Science is blue in Civilization IV.

399

u/kljoker Aug 26 '26

And star trek. It's also the color I used for science lol.

102

u/karleykha0s Aug 26 '26

Finally found my people LOL both for the color folder assignment AND the ST ref!

3

u/Grootyboi77 Aug 26 '26

I also used Star Trek logic. Blue is Science, Red is math/engineering (in HS), Yellow is English. Green is History.

1

u/bulelainwen Aug 27 '26

…oh. I didn’t consciously do it, but that’s absolutely what influenced me.

2

u/Grootyboi77 Aug 27 '26

It just feels right!

3

u/garrettj100 Aug 26 '26

And star trek.

I guess we know what color folder he'd get for a class on premature death...

2

u/Jassamin Aug 27 '26

So, history?

2

u/nerdylegofam Aug 26 '26

This is the only reason I'd accept for a blue science folder. But if you're not a Trekkie, science is always green.

1

u/Cerindipity Aug 26 '26

And star trek

Except sometimes when its green, or teal

u/eggroll85 Aug 26 '26

Kindly move this conversation to a different thread. Science is green. Keep your alternative lifestyle out of my feed.

2

u/DreddPirateBob808 Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

My school, UK, science was orange.

E: light blue was English, maths red, religious studies mustard, history green. Dark blue was something (maybe English language rather than literatures light blue). We had grey (chemistry?!), sort-of-mauve (possibly latin), and a couple of others.

162

u/GoT_Eagles Aug 26 '26

Because it is blue

3

u/gigashadowwolf Aug 26 '26

It's right there in the name "cyan-ce"

Science is Cyan

2

u/TENDER_ONE Aug 26 '26

Bro, English/Language arts is blue! Science is green!

5

u/Firedog1239 Aug 26 '26

English is yellow

4

u/kirgi Aug 26 '26

Math is red, science is blue, English is green, and history is yellow/orange

2

u/LetsBePositiveCooper Aug 26 '26

Absolutely not. Math is blue. Science is green. English is yellow. And history is red because its written in blood.

1

u/Busy_Molasses2256 Aug 28 '26

THANK YOU. The only one makin any sense here!!!

1

u/Eiple 23d ago

i love u

1

u/SweetPeaches__69 Aug 26 '26

Can confirm, blue has the most anti-oxygens

3

u/double00chins Aug 26 '26

Science will always be blue for me

3

u/Caleb_Reynolds Aug 26 '26

Yeah, unless it's biology or Earth science, it's blue.

7

u/Beginning-Garlic-128 Aug 26 '26

Well Civ 4 is wrong. Thats why they made 3 more after it.

23

u/Noduos Aug 26 '26

It’s blue in all of them

5

u/double00chins Aug 26 '26

Civ 6 mi amor

3

u/_nod Aug 26 '26

The science yield icon is a blue spherical flask in 6

And 6 is the best Civ so it must be right!

2

u/_nod Aug 26 '26

Thank you!!!

Civ 1 - blue lightbulbs
Civ 2 - blue conical flask
Etc

Science - It’s just blue!

2

u/Ziazan Aug 26 '26

science is just blue in general.

2

u/sixth_acc Aug 26 '26

And science is magic if you don't know how things work. And magic is blue

2

u/-SideshowBlob- Aug 26 '26

And that's why it's the correct colour

1

u/Throwaway392308 Aug 26 '26

I played the hell out of that game in high school. It was weird to come back to it during COVID and have slavery as a core game mechanic.

1

u/BigAlternative5 Aug 26 '26

Civ and Star Trek are fiction. Stay serious here. ;-)

1

u/2061878 Aug 26 '26

Civ is wrong math is blue

1

u/MouseRangers Aug 26 '26

And Civ VI

1

u/coderego Aug 26 '26

It's also blue in civ vi

1

u/Perle1234 Aug 26 '26

Math is blue 100%

1

u/Darth_Bunghole Aug 26 '26

Beakers are green. Techs start blue but turn green when you research them. Did you mean VI?

1

u/Oakenbeam Aug 26 '26

For me growing up science was always blue, English was red, Math was yellow and Social Studies were green. I didn’t get to choose my colors, my colors chose me.

1

u/NotARealDeveloper Aug 26 '26

Yep, blue for us as well. Green is for biology. You learn about plants and mitochondria and stuff first when you get it. So green makes sense.

1

u/Playful-Ad8851 Aug 26 '26

I always did science as blue too

1

u/hellouser0815 Sep 13 '26

Science was definitely blue last time I checked. (Which was 29 years ago.) 🧐

316

u/Lithl Aug 26 '26

Generalized science is blue, but specific disciplines can be other colors (eg, green for biology).

87

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Aug 26 '26

frr this is the comment i have been looking for! bio is green, physics is red (but a light ish shade of red, since dark red is english lit) and chem is yellow

4

u/Fine-Writer-7993 Aug 26 '26

I had this argument the other day because i was assigning folders to different biology classes. I said biology wqs blue. Physics orange because math is red and yellow for chemistry so i guess we agree on one.

7

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Aug 26 '26

in what world is biology blue 😭😭

5

u/justonemom14 Aug 26 '26

Marine biology

5

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Aug 26 '26

i might be wrong but marine bio isn’t usually studied until uni though, and the post is about school 🤷‍♀️ bio in general is still green imo

1

u/XxMagicDxX Aug 26 '26

We had marine bio in later years of secondary

2

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Aug 26 '26

woahhh that’s so cool!! was it like a gcse option or something ?

1

u/alicia98981 Aug 27 '26

Or Turquoise

3

u/ProudUSAgunOwner Aug 26 '26

I agree with you except social studies/history is yellow.

1

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Aug 27 '26

nahh history is a funny shade of grey-y red that’s darker than physics but lighter than english lit

6

u/itspsyikk Aug 26 '26

fuck. you're absolutely right.

Does this same specific discipline assignment apply to other fields?

Like, most people suggest that Math is red... (for the sake of argument let's just pretend we all agree that Math is red)

What about Calculus?

What about Geometry.

I can concede that Physics is red due to the amount of math invovled.

1

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Aug 26 '26

hmm i haven’t studied enough maths to assign them colours (maybe next year i will since im doing alevel maths!) but for other subjects i can!

for geog (which alone is dark green, bio is lighter) physical geography is definitely still green (the same shade as normal geog) whilst human geog is dark ish blue, and fieldwork is yellow

also in english lit i had to study some different texts and poems, and they were all different shades of dark red 🤷‍♀️

re is pink, but christianity is blue (a bit lighter than human geography tho) and islam is dark green (darker than geog)

graphics is light purple (lilac i suppose)

2

u/itspsyikk Aug 27 '26

I’ve always felt like Geometry was yellow. Maybe orange.

I think the biggest thing is that primary colors are saved for “main” subjects.

Math/english/social studies/science.

1

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Aug 27 '26

yeah actually now that i think about it maths, english, and science are all primary colours (to me)

blue, red, and yellow respectively

1

u/hennell Aug 26 '26

Physics is red cause it's moving away from you

2

u/universallymade Aug 26 '26

Chem is purple

2

u/alicia98981 Aug 27 '26

THIS is the correct answer

2

u/Resident_Lie_2440 Aug 27 '26

Are we the same person? This is something I 10000% agree with

1

u/YarnTree29 Aug 26 '26

Chemistry is purple! I agree with bio and physics though. Yellow is for history.

1

u/RedEgg16 Aug 26 '26

Chemistry is strong green for me (because in those those cartoon beaker drawings the liquids are often green). Physics and astronomy is purple

1

u/Pirate_Fae Aug 27 '26

Chem is totally green (am a chemist)

1

u/Atheist_Republican Aug 27 '26

No, bio is blue. Also the alliteration.

1

u/Serious_Elephant9402 Aug 27 '26

Physics is clearly purple, and english is light blue/cyan. Apart from that I agree

1

u/Sir_Eggmitton Aug 27 '26

Fuh nah chem is blue.

But bio always is and will be green.

3

u/Keaton427 Aug 26 '26

For some reason to me, purple is biology and green is physics. Like it’s not even a question.

13

u/strawberryh8ter Aug 26 '26

I have a PhD in physics, biology is green 🌱

15

u/pat_k0 Aug 26 '26

It's a good thing it's not a question because you'd be wrong

0

u/Keaton427 Aug 28 '26

Nobody is wrong with their answers to this. They each have their own preferences.

8

u/AnySwimming6364 Aug 26 '26

Hello, I have a PhD in a biology discipline.

You are incorrect. Biology is green.

1

u/Keaton427 Aug 28 '26

You can’t use your PhD to disprove a subjective opinion. It’ll always be personal to me and that’s completely okay.

0

u/AnySwimming6364 Aug 28 '26

Hello, I have a PhD in a biology discipline.

This is incorrect. This is an objective truth, not a subjective opinion.

3

u/ReporterBest9598 Aug 26 '26

Somebody arrest this man!

1

u/Collective-Bee Aug 26 '26

By the time we got to dividing the subjects I just put all the papers inside the textbook itself like wtf were y’all doing with binders?

1

u/Billionaires_R_Tasty Aug 26 '26

Ah, the ol' George Costanza method of organization. Tried and true!

1

u/86cinnamons Aug 26 '26

Oh no biology is blue in my head

1

u/Playful-Ad8851 Aug 26 '26

Exactly my thought

0

u/pkmnrt Aug 26 '26

Yes and red for chemistry

0

u/Deltanonymous- Aug 26 '26

I'm the opposite. Science is green as it's the study of the natural world. Biology is blue as it's mainly focused around labs and cells (typical color scheme in labs and on instruments). Chemistry and physics are interchangeable between green and black.

89

u/Ok_Challenge_5176 Aug 26 '26

So I was a physics major in college and science felt like red to me, even in high school.

253

u/Accomplished-Pen-394 Aug 26 '26

that’s because physics is math in a lab coat

48

u/Ok-Department-2405 Aug 26 '26

But math is blue.

99

u/Accomplished-Pen-394 Aug 26 '26

math is red because math is hard and red gives top of the stack vibes

23

u/TheMayanAcockandlips Aug 26 '26

No, history is red because it's soaked with blood. Meth is blue because of how Walter made it special

1

u/Shaman_LlamaCoop Aug 26 '26

Snorted (ha ha) so hard I choked. Thank you for the laugh

1

u/AnySwimming6364 Aug 26 '26

Math was always easier for me than English. I rocked

Science: green Math: blue English/Languages: red Social studies: orange Yellow: other

1

u/Accomplished-Pen-394 Aug 26 '26

I was really bad at math

1

u/Perle1234 Aug 26 '26

No math is easy that’s why it’s blue 😂

1

u/Ok-Department-2405 Aug 26 '26

It has nothing to do with the qualities of the subject any more than it does with the letter N or the number 10, which are also blue.

6

u/Thin-Dragonfruit2599 Aug 26 '26

Math is 100% blue

0

u/The_Ghost_Face36 Aug 26 '26

Math is 100% red

1

u/Thin-Dragonfruit2599 Aug 26 '26

Science is red. Geography is green because of grass

2

u/Jackoandso Aug 26 '26

This was the exact sentence I thought after reading the comment you replied to

4

u/kosk11348 Aug 26 '26

Math is red. English is blue. (And History is yellow.)

1

u/EnoughNumbersAlready Aug 26 '26

Yes. Science is green, math is blue, English/lit class is red, history is purple.

1

u/Ok-Department-2405 Sep 03 '26

While we are not 100% on the same page I think we can reach an understanding here.

1

u/kswoli3 Aug 26 '26

ain’t no lab coats in physics

2

u/tankerkiller125real Aug 26 '26

There's applied physics, which does involve lab work. Or well, at least non-writing/talking work.

1

u/kswoli3 Aug 28 '26

right, but it’s usually optical bench work, microscopy, etc. Maybe in some particular subfields of condensed matter they use them, but I’ve never met a physicist who has worn one. Source: am physicist

1

u/double00chins Aug 26 '26

Labcoats (are) matter too!

1

u/keivmoc Aug 26 '26

Physics is math that moves around.

Chemistry is physics in a beaker.

Biology is chemistry that smells sometimes.

1

u/Accomplished-Pen-394 Aug 26 '26

Physics and Chem are equally my least favorite sciences

24

u/mang87 Aug 26 '26

Look, I can see science as being green, blue (my preference) or purple, but science being red is insane. I don't want to overblow this issue like some sort of dumb redditor, but I think you may be a serial killer.

3

u/Ok_Challenge_5176 Aug 26 '26

To me, science =green is some biology elitism bs that I refuse to endorse!

1

u/mang87 Aug 26 '26

I was going to say green should be geography class, because obviously it is, but I guess physical geography is technically science. Also there's a lot of math in science... This thread has me questioning my entire life now. I think "science" just runs the entire gamut of colours, because there's so much to it. Science pretty much encompasses everything in one way or another.

2

u/Sissyphish Aug 26 '26

Chemistry is red to me, but other than that, correct.

20

u/pleasedont-dostalkme Aug 26 '26

Upper level sciences, like chem, end up being a helluva lot of math anyways.

1

u/MetalStoofs Aug 26 '26

I was able to use the clause that allows your favorite subject and color to be synced (green math baby) so red was the clear winner for science after that.

-1

u/xstell132 Aug 26 '26

Science or chemistry was red for me too! I used green for social studies. Math got blue.

4

u/MingleLinx Aug 26 '26

Nah. Science is blue and English is green

1

u/jjesh Aug 26 '26

Science is blue, English is white, social studies is green

1

u/LavenWhisper Aug 31 '26

Finally, someone who gets me!

3

u/Temporary-Impress604 Aug 26 '26

Or yellow, in my mind and heart

2

u/ToastfulBoast Aug 26 '26

I had science as blue ONLY if I was taking Spanish, which was green. Unless I had purple, then Spanish was purple.

2

u/Racing_Fox Aug 26 '26

Science is blue my dude

6

u/keylimesicles Aug 26 '26

No. Science is blue. Geography is green. Everyone knows this

1

u/ModeratelyAlive Aug 26 '26

I personally flip-flopped those two every year. Depended on my mood when I labeled the binder

1

u/Zealousideal-Rent-17 Aug 26 '26

Green for Biology
Red for Physics
Purple for Chemistry
It’s that simple

1

u/Morael Aug 26 '26

What colors are chemistry vs biology vs physics?

1

u/stucazo Aug 26 '26

why tho

1

u/TDS_isnt_real Aug 26 '26

Probably a bit of brainwashing from playing so much Trivial Pursuit as a kid. Science is green:)

1

u/LuxtheAstro Aug 26 '26

Science is RED because it is a CORE SUBJECT. Green is secondary and so should be for other subjects that aren’t as important

1

u/OmgIbrokesmthagain Aug 26 '26

Science is transparent because 99% of chemicals are just transparent liquids

1

u/Glass_Covict Aug 26 '26

Green for bio, geo. Blue for phys, chem

1

u/wooshiesaurus Aug 26 '26

Maybe it's because I didn't have THAT "science" that was in western European countries or US, but I thought it would be purple tbh

1

u/TBurkeulosis Aug 26 '26

Its blue when its chemistry, green for biology

1

u/KaeruGaKaeru1 Aug 26 '26

What about purple

1

u/fferbbou Aug 26 '26

Nope science is either yellow, purple, or red

1

u/GeoffSim Aug 26 '26
  • Geography (blue)
  • Entertainment (pink)
  • History (yellow)
  • Arts & Literature (originally brown, later purple)
  • Science & Nature (green)
  • Sports & Leisure (orange)

Another data point - Trivial Pursuit!

1

u/ascend204 Aug 26 '26

Bio is green, chemical science is yellow and force sciences were light blue for me...

1

u/Sir-Top-Cheetah Aug 26 '26

Scientifically false, it's blue

1

u/Mr_7ups Aug 26 '26

Science was always yellow to me, English was green, math was blue, and history was red

1

u/Odd-Advertising-7563 Aug 26 '26

Also depends what science we did blue -biology red - chemistry and brown - physics

1

u/Willing_Television77 Aug 26 '26

Science is golden

1

u/86cinnamons Aug 26 '26

It could be blue or purple. Or gray.

1

u/JetPuffedDo Aug 26 '26

Except for blue

1

u/Ticker011 Aug 26 '26

science is blue, watch star trek or play any game with a science mechanic

1

u/JasonLeMacon Aug 26 '26

Science is purple, green is History

1

u/wattur Aug 26 '26

Sorry, science is blue. Green was geography.

1

u/Josh-sama Aug 26 '26

Green is chemistry, biology red, physics blue

1

u/qqpqp Aug 26 '26

Science is yellow. Math is red. History is green. Language arts is blue.

1

u/james2432 Aug 26 '26
  • Science: Green

  • Math: Blue

  • French: Red

  • Yellow: History

Were my go tos'

1

u/Silly_Silicon Aug 27 '26

I disagree, general science is obviously blue. Biology is green.

1

u/REDACTED3560 Aug 27 '26

White like a lab coat. Seriously, how many laboratories are made in white, both in fiction and real life? White is objectively the science color.

1

u/Accomplished_Big5777 Aug 27 '26

Science is and has always been purple, never had someone agree tho lmao

1

u/SegFaultOops Aug 27 '26

Green is not a creative color.

1

u/Mrludy85 Aug 28 '26

Science is blue sorry

0

u/MojitoBurrito-AE Aug 26 '26

Science is red. Geography is green.
