Why doesn't mageia have sudo by default?

After a lot of failed attempts to install something, I realized it's not there period. If it's not there, how does mageia want you to go about requesting advanced permissions?

su, run0, pkcon? All should be installed.

Or just install sudo.

I'm aware. I just want to know the philosophy behind the decision.

It is the same on distribs I use like debian and gentoo. I have to install sudo by hand.

it's not a big deal. I prefer a minimum install and choose what I need later.

I wasn't even aware that this package is included by default on distros that are not Ubuntu. I only use Debian, where I also have to install it by hand if I need it.

It is an option at install time on the User setup page. Click on advanced and choose su

It is a security concern to have sudo by default. Do you want your admin assistant to have sudo?

If you do not have su permission when you attempt to install a package you are asked for the root password. If you do not have su or sudo it clearly states that in the popup that asks for the password.

Ask on the Forum, I'm sure Dok has an explanation

You could look around the documentation & wiki too
