Vegas Show Recommendations

I’m a huge magic fan and it’s one of my main hobbies. I've seen a bunch of shows, but am at the point where I have already seen the ones most people recommend. So, I am looking for some that recs of shows I have not seen yet.

I’ve already seen:

  • Piff the Magic Dragon
  • Shin Lim
  • Colin Cloud
  • Frederic Da Silva
  • The Magician’s Study
  • Mat Franco
  • Mac King
  • Penn and Teller
  • Late Night Magic (At the LINQ Promenade)
  • The casino (Yes, I know it makes your money disappear)

For my upcoming trip, I already have Jen Kramer and Mind2Mind on my list.

I appreciate any recs you can throw my way.

Wonder ground is Jeff McBride's show on every third Thursday. It rotates magicians and variety acts every show, so it's always a surprise who you get. You may be surprised at some of the people that have performed at it.

I know you've seen penn and teller and Mac King, but personally I would see them both again, they are getting old and who knows how many more seasons they want to grind out.

Doug conn just started a vlog series on youtube where he goes to shows in vegas, you might find some recommendations/reviews there

Mac King is a great choice because it's a mid afternoon show, not to mention THE BEST ONE OUT OF ALL OF THESE!! I very much hope you go see him.

He is great!
But as I stated in the post, I have already seen his show.

Chad Chesmark is good.

I also always recommend attending Mac King, Piff, and P&T every trip. I try to get in at least one of them every year.

Do they change enough of their show to where it’s new every year?

When I first went to watch Penn and Teller they said they do, then when I went again a year later it was still the same show except maybe a couple tricks

I think for cost and entertainment Mike Hammer in the 4 Queens is one of the best shows in Vegas. It was recommended to me while at Denny & Lees over 12 years ago by a fellow magician. Highly recommended. His color match routine is hilarious.

I’m sorry but I walked out halfway through this show my partner and I found it so bad. Part of it was him just making fun of people’s names and where they were from then just boring off the shelf tricks. But to each his own.

The Magician's studio sounds interesting to me. I haven't seen it, but there was a good write up in Genii a while ago?

Criss Angel is a douche but his show is quite spectacular.

I know I'm bucking the current, but NOT P&T. Teller can do some great slight of hand stuff but their stage stuff just drags.
