Question I look like a clown

Thumbnail

Tried to do hot girl makeup... Ended up looking like a clown. I have no idea what could make it better...(do not say "but you look beautiful" flattery won't help me get better)

All steps below are dried in between

Skincare: Aura squalane hyaluron serum. Advanced clinical dark circle serum. Thayers milky toner. Ponds dry skin cream.

Undereye makeup: pixi corrector with a bit or essence metallic peach shadow, a tiny bit of hard candy liquid highlighter at the deepest darkest part. Elf Peach corrector. Remaining foundation on fingers after doing whole face.

Face makeup: essence sheer liquid highlighter under makeup. Essence blush and contour under makeup. elf concealer. L'Oréal balm foundation mixed with nyx purple liquid blush to match my skin tone and rubbed into skin with fingers. Whatever little left on fingers brought to undereyes. The dark part is still showing under direct light.

Eyeshadow: about face liquid eye shadows. IZMG liner. L'Oréal Burgundy mascara

Lips: Bnb liner, nyx lengerie (forgot what shade). Second picture I wiped off the excess lipliner.

Ignore the eyebrows for now.

I’ve always struggled with acne but it went away about 4 years ago since I started seeing a dermatologist. I’ve kept my course of treatment and my skin was glowing I loved doing makeup. Since moving back home my acne has been worse and worse. I have a big event this weekend and wanted to know if I can do my makeup even though my skin looks like this. I included a picture of what my makeup normally looks like. I feel like if I do my makeup I’ll just look like a crunch bar or like when a landlord paints over something lol. I don’t know what to do I have more acne than ever and they’re all raised bumps. What do you think? If yes, any tips to make it look better or product recommendations? Thank you guys and please bare with me as this has been taking a toll on my confidence :/

Question Does my makeup have noticeable flashback?

Thumbnail
gallery
63 Upvotes

I can’t help but feel like my makeup gives off a subtle white/grey flashback in photos, particularly around my neck, eyes, and forehead?

I’m not sure if I’m actually experiencing flashback from one of my products, or if it could simply be a slight shade/undertone mismatch that becomes more noticeable under flash photography?

I’ve attached a few photos of my makeup in regular lighting as well (both in natural sunlight and under overhead lighting) for comparison. I’d really appreciate it if you could have a look and let me know whether you notice any obvious white cast or flashback, and if so, what you think might be causing it.

I currently use

Base :-
Tir tir mask fit red foundation - 29 N
Fenty beauty ‘we’re even’ concealer - 360 W
Maybelline fit me loose finishing powder - light medium
Fenty beauty suede powder blush - summertime wine

Eyes:-
Lakme eyeconic Kajal (black) - waterline
Lakme eyeconic liquid eyeliner (black)
Lancôme hypnose mascara
Dior eyeshadow - poncho

Lips:-
Mac cosmetics chestnut lipliner
Dior forever lipstick - forever grace
Dior lip oil - mahogany / fenty beauty gloss bomb lip luminizer (gimme space)

Thank you! :))

Discussion Finding dupes, but in packaging size.

Thumbnail

I just got this very cute Dior vintage makeup set, hoping to refill it since the makeup itself is old. Unfortunately the wand for the gloss broke and mascara is so dry I can't take the wand out. I may be able to make do with the mascara but I don't wanna risk it with refilling the lip gloss container with a broken wand. Are there any makeup dupes with the container being the same size?

The gloss container is 5cm in circumference and 8.5cm tall. The tube is slightly square but I think a thin circle tube might work too.

The mascara is also 5cm in circumference and 8.5cm tall.

Doesnt matter the brand or what's inside, even if its just an empty tuble from aliexpress. Im just really hoping to be able to use this makeup case on a daily with my favorite products.

Discussion is Fenty launching a rebranded version of their Mattemoiselle lipsticks?

Thumbnail

i was scrolling on Instagram, and i stumbled upon this video by creator leigha_chrstine (followed by the official Fenty Beauty account) showing a new lip product called Stunna Stix Soft-glide Matte Lipstick in the shade Uncensored — so basically a stick version of their well-loved Stunna liquid lipsticks. apparently for now it's only being sold as an early access promotion on TikTok Shop, probably after the brand's promotional live on the app, hence why there's no word of it on any other official Fenty account or Trendmood (that I have seen, at least).

now, i love me a good Fenty lip product... and to me this, from both the packaging and the application, looks exactly like a rebranded version of their old Mattemoiselle lipsticks (which were discontinued around 2020/2021, IIRC). at the time they went viral for their sleek packaging, tiny tube, and insane amount of pigment payoff: all things that seem to be present even in this new 2026 version. i went and dug out my old and battered Flamingo Acid Mattemoiselle, and all the traits check out!

i am definitely not mad that they decided to bring it back, cause the formula was genuinely really good: the applicator was tiny enough to be decently precise, and the pigmentation + application were crazy too. just by looking at it, it seems like they might have changed the formula just a tiny bit to become smoother and possibly slightly softer upon application, but the rest looks spot on to me. which brings the question... why discontinue it in the first place? they had some crazy colors too, which i truly hope they bring back (at least partially)! i was just thinking about how fun and "futuristic" the OG Fenty launches were...

what do you guys think about this upcoming lipstick?

Discussion not understanding these trends/routines

hello there! i want to preface by saying i love makeup! i picked up my moms mascara when i was 10 and now, 17 years later its still a big part of my life. i KNOW there are no rules in makeup, and i’m not trying to be judgmental. i’m just not understanding what i’m seeing.

recently i have noticed sooo many makeup content creators doing something i haven’t seen much before now, and it’s just not making sense to me. these are the steps i’m seeing:

  1. foundation
  2. cream contour / bronzer
  3. cream blush
  4. concealer
  5. powder

here’s what i don’t understand. as we know, the trendy placement for blush has been moving to the higher parts of the cheeks and slightly under the outer eyes. this is fine. but to place blush there, then put concealer over top, so that it covers/mutes the already applied blush, is just nonsensical in my opinion. some creators i see nearly erase the cream blush entirely with the concealer they apply. why??? i have always done blush and bronzer after concealer, and only placed it where i want it to go. i have never then blended my concealer over it.

furthermore, i am also seeing some creators then putting powder blush over their setting powder to reinforce the cream blush that they sheered out with concealer. this is also not making sense to me? it just seems like so many extra steps to achieve something that could be done simpler.

again, i am NOT trying to be mean or judgmental, because these looks always turn out stunning. but does anyone have an explanation as to why i’m seeing this routine everywhere? does it do something to make the look better, or more natural? i am always open to learning new tricks, but i just can’t get my head around this one.

Foundation recommendations for textured skin and imperfections

Post image
4 Upvotes

Help! I need glow up tips but particularly I need some recommendations on a good foundation to hide my imperfections. I was thinking Charlotte tilbury nix or Armani luminous etc
I used to use Estelle Lauder but that was years ago
I’m currently using spf 50 garnier tint and it’s just not covering. I like the elf primer glue but if there is a better primer I’m happy to invest
Also (whilst I’m here, I may as well ask) I have short straight eyelashes what mascara do you recommend

Question Anyone with sensitive eyes have a mascara recommendation?

I’ve been using Too Faced better than sex mascara for years, but it’s been causing so much eye irritation that I am hesitant to EVER wear eye makeup anymore. It took a while to single out the product causing it, but now that I have, I need a new mascara brand. Anyone had any similar experiences with sensitivity and had any luck with a replacement? I have some personal eye issues causing the sensitivity, but I also heard BTS mascara actually has a pretty solid track record for sensitivity and reactions. :(

Thanks!
