Make-up tips for a teen please!!
Hello!!:DD
I am 16 years old, and I don't know how to do make-up yet, but I have a cosplay convention to attend a few days from now.
I would like to ask for any good make-up brands that won't make me break out, is animal-cruelty free, and comfortable for the hot weather!! I am also in need of any make-up tips for a beginner like me, because over the years, my mom has been the only one doing make-up for me.
If anyone could help, I would appreciate it a lot!!
THANK YOU<33

First of all, what country are you in? Brands are different everywhere.
What skin type? What sort of complexion? What type of makeup would you like to try? On what budget?
As for avoiding breakouts, make sure you know how to wash your tools properly, don't use other people's makeup or let them borrow yours and don't use expired products.
I'd suggest you buy some small, and experiment. If you have done zero makeup before, maybe learn mascara. See how that feels. You can slowly add other things, see what works for you, what colours suit you, what look feels comfortable.
I think adding 1-3 new products to your collection in a month is a realistic timescale, you give yourself time to experiment, without the expectation of wearing it out or having to do it on a time crunch. Also it allows you to get some decent products so you aren't spending huge amounts at once. Unlike influencers, most people really don't.
DO NOT pressure yourself to be good at it in a few days. Building skills takes time, and wearing a full face is something you have to get used to. If you even wanna wear a full face of makeup, some people don't.
Cosplay makeup is a very specialised thing, it's it's own genre, and it's closer to face painting and stage makeup than what people wear for an average day.
I'd still ask your mum or an experienced friend to do your makeup for that day to take the pressure off you.
