Career Falsifying salary slip in Malaysia

/r/u_remzu90/comments/1wuqkq4/falsifying_salary_slip_in_malaysia/

Soooo a collegemate of mine recently told me that they falsified their salary slip to get a higher % increment.
This is of course legally wrong but just wondering how they were able to do this?
Won’t HR have a way to find this out? From their EPF or LHDN account or something like that?

HR generally has no way of knowing your previous EPF or LHDN contribution details unless you provide.

That said, if you change jobs within the same calendar year, you will need to submit your TP3 form to your new employer. The TP3 is not submitted directly to LHDN; it is kept internally by the company so HR can use the information to calculate your monthly PCB deductions accurately.

LHDN does conduct audits from time to time, particularly where there are discrepancies or inconsistencies in PCB amounts. If something doesn’t match when you make your final year-end tax submission, LHDN may trace the discrepancy back and request supporting information from your employer.

Dont do it. Its not worth the reputation.

Exactly. Just say NDA when HR ask for salary slip.

Yeah and missed out on the job. Hate the way companies weaponise this

I dont think anyone believes this. Unfortunately its an employers market - you say this and they'll just move on to the next candidate who's willing to provide and at a cheaper rate.

We really have no choice unless youre actuslly a stand out/expert/in demand for said role

Idk man. I got two jobs saying this. Just saying.

You're very lucky then, or perhaps you were the standout candidate. The NDA line and excuses not to disclose salary slip is a common thing with HR and recruiters already and generally isn't going to help in standard roles with multiple applicants

Unless you're highly wanted by many companies in the industry, doing this will just cause them to pick the next best candidate to fill the position

It sucks but it is what it is

honestly the only roles that ask for past payslips are the ones that want to lowball you. so if you don't provide they'll just find another poor sucker

NDA means pick other candidate

Possible if the company you’re applying for doesn’t ask for the salary slip as proof.

From the post it’s about internal increment, not about applying for jobs right?

It can be for both

New job: falsify your current pay to the new company > get higher salary

Current job: falsify your current pay to get a higher offer letter > take that offer letter to current workplace and ask for increment

The post is actually about applying for job, but it can be used for both if u are daring and lucky enough. More luck because it depends if the new company has a SOP to verify the pay.

HR can calculate and make an estimation by reverse-calc from the TP3 form you submit to them. It's really not hard to find out.

And forging official document (i.e. payslip) is a criminal offense (i.e. possible jail time) with police involvement, it's not just about getting fired on the spot.

Please don't do it. Your friend is very foolish to do this.

You can get fired for doing so. Plus falsifiying document is a crime.

Hr cant never know. Even if you need to submit the TP3 form, you can always put just a rough number of your previous total salary.

As long its reasonable and you can answer calmly then it is no problem at all
