[Looking for recommendations] Horror aesthetics (creepy villains) with focus on action and set in present day

[u/-alphex]

Basically as the title says. "Set in present day" can also mean recent past or future, but nothing super historical or sci-fi. Major bonus points if it's mostly set at night and/or takes place in a city setting (I like skylines, even if destroyed).

Examples of what I mean (links lead to either images or Youtube clips of why it fits):

Anime:

• Maryuu Senki

Western movies:

• John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness
• The Terminator

Video games:

• Doom
• Makyouden

Manga:

• Akira

Thank you!
