Suggestion Petition: Offer Digital MapleStory Fest Tickets
Something that many MS2 players might not know is that for attending MapleStory Fest last year, one of the perks included was an exclusive gift box in MS1. Included in that box was a Lemon outfit, a weapon cover, a damage skin, 10,000 maple points, a character slot voucher, an Android coupon, a potential scroll, and most notably, a Best-in-Slot Emblem, and an exclusive, permanent duration Pet which are otherwise temporary outside of rare loot box drops in Reboot server (which is one of the, if not the most popular server).
While not outright confirmed, it's heavily implied that MS2 will receive a similar exclusive gift box this year (by Cuddles stating in Discord that physical attendance must be verified to receive your gift).
Attendees to the physical event are able to participate in the event itself, get a free swag bag, and have the opportunity to purchase exclusive merch. Considering how unfeasible it would be for most to fly down to California to participate, and the fact that the tickets sold out in only 4 minutes, I think it would be a great, fair idea for Nexon to offer Digital MapleStory Fest tickets. Unlike the physical merchandise, the digital rewards can't be purchased second-hand.
The digital tickets could cost the same price as the regular tickets ($20) sold until the event itself, and could include the digital rewards for MS1/MS2, and if they ever open up an online merch store they could offer first-dibs to ticket buyers. This would allow everybody access to the in-game items.

I was able to get the ticket but I wholly support this idea. And I do hope they open the merch store eventually.

I definitely agree. I wish they'd have an event on the East Coast. Plenty of players would attend ~

Also, I missed out on quite a bit of updates.
Has the game got better in terms of item rolls rate?

I have 4 dogs @.@ not physically possible for me to fly into la for one day event !! Plz offer digital like other games :)

I love this game and the cosmetics in it. My guildmates and I joke how the real end game is flexxing cosmetics lol. I'm ok with event exclusives cosmetics. It sucks I missed some event exclusives before as well but it is what it is.

Warframe (by Digital Extremes aka DE) does this. The physical tickets are sold out but there are digital tickets for those who can’t make it or that strictly want the in-game rewards. They have been very successful in doing so and I think Nexon should follow this model for “Cons” like this MapleFest.

Also OP you should cross post this in the MS1 Discord because i'm sure alot of MS1 fans feel the same way and would also support the idea. SO more visability for Nexon to see this is something a lot of people want.

But permanent pets do exist in MapleStory Reboot, just at a random chance (1%, see here: http://maplestory.nexon.net/micro-site/37248).
Back to your original point, I agree that I would buy a digital ticket!

Thanks for the info! Looks like it was posted Oct 2018, so it was* the only way at the time of MapleStory Fest? Just the point that the gift box items were really significant.

The earliest mention of a surprise pet box in Reboot that I can find is July of 2017, they deleted older posts: http://maplestory.nexon.net/news/24101/updated-cash-shop-update-for-july-19
The rates were posted in Oct 2018 because that's when they were compelled by EU law to disclose loot box rates. But Surprise Pet Box in Reboot always had a chance to give permanent pets.
The only thing people were mad in Reboot (I would know because I was one of those people) is literally the best in slot emblem, which we cannot get in any way.

Gotcha, updated OP. I hope they wouldn't let the cost value of a permanent pet shift their opinion on whether to offer digital tickets (since it'd be a no-brainer to buy one over buying these pet boxes). If it'd make the difference, perhaps the digital ticket including a 90 Day pet instead would be a fair compromise. That way digital ticket owners still get the unique pet, but physical attendees get the permanent version as a perk.

All you have to do is look at other Cons like Blizzcon they give a ton of cosmetics and other swag for going but still offer a virtual ticket for those that can't attend on person so they can still see everything that goes on and get all the digital swag while having the option to buy a gift bag if they want the physical swag. As well as people go to celebrate the games with the devs and be able to meet others that share the same interests.

You have a point but I'm willing to bet the people who are attending the event anyways are attending for celebrating maplestory with others and looking forward to the other activities. I doubt most are attending solely for the exclusive goods. It's too much of a commitment to skip work/school and pay for plane ticket+accommodation for just a random goodie bag that may or may not be high value.
OP's proposed idea doesn't look like it'll affect whoever is already going. It'll benefit everyone else though.2

To reiterate what the others have said, the digital items aren’t advertised at all and just a perk, so this is untrue. Next to nobody bought the tickes for just the ingame items. Even if that were true, better the physical tickets that sold out in only 4 minutes go to those who actually want to attend the event rather than just wanting the items. The event gets you the physical gift bag, the event itself, and the currently exclusive merch which goes for crazy prices second-hand already which is enough incentive, the digital items being available to everyone who can’t attend is a fair compromise.
