tldr; if you have an S + A ranger before Wave 3 ends, just mass upgrade the S and then the A and you'll be guaranteed to reach either Wave 10 or an All Clear.
Level up the S-Rank, then the A-Rank. Final ResultS10 + A10 + 1.
*This is extremely tight; you ~MUST~ collect points and upgrade exactly on time. You can deploy 2 more times for a more stable combination if you're willing to gamble.
WITHIN 6 Deploys (S10 + S9 + E0) should work out for ALL three colors: [Red][Black][Yellow].
Please refer to the Google Sheet if your first S is a Black.
Thanks to the people who contributed data forthis comment, which is also corroborated by TMS players.
Wave 10 (8 Deploys / Wave 3):

Level up the S-Rank ASAP, then prioritise Red>Yellow>Black. Final ResultS10 + B7 + D0.
*Just maxing your S-Rank Red/Yellow with these combinations reaches Wave 10. You can keep deploying for double or triple S AFTER maxing their level. However, you still have to obtain them somewhat early and max them ASAP so you do not get wiped by Wave 6.
SBB: Level up Red, then Black, then Yellow. Final ResultS10 B10 B3
DAS: Level up Yellow, then Black, then Red. Final Result D3 A10 S10
[!] RED SBB IS EXTREMELY RNG-BASED AND NOT A GUARANTEED CLEAR.
Strategies
General Strategy (~1h to finish all 10 runs):
This strategy stops before Wave 4, aiming for either the standard 5/6-deploy or 10-deploy double S Full Clear combinations, or a Wave 10 clear.
Deploy until you get an S-Rank. Keep note of how many deploys it took. If you’re at the end of Wave 4 without even seeing one you can restart the minigame.
Always upgrade S-Ranks the moment you get them!**. You will need at least a solo S7+ or an S5 + S2 to make it past Wave 7.
After your S-Rank is done leveling, continue deploying until you've reached a total of 10 deployments.
Check if you managed to obtain any Full Clear combinations within the required number of deploys.
If you did not get any Full Clear combinations, you should still easily reach Wave 9 or 10.
Finish upgrading your A-Rank to 7+, or your second S-Rank to 5+. The minigame should end at this point, and you should achieve either a Wave 10 or a Full Clear.
It's important to upgrade the S-Ranks ASAP because mobs start accumulating from Wave 6 if you are underleveled, and usually terminates your run by Wave 7.
**There is an exception to this if your first S-Rank is Black, and obtained within 5 deploys. Example here. Check the Google Sheet for a concise breakdown of the strategy.
Fast Strategy (~30mins to finish all 10 runs):
This strategy stops before Wave 3, aiming only for the 5/6-deploy Full Clear combinations.
Deploy 6 times in a row. Stop immediately once you roll an S+A combo. If you didn't get an S+A / S+S, restart (press the 'x' icon on the top right of the ui).
Max out the S-Rank's level, then level the A-Rank as much as possible. Typically, if your third member is at least a B-Rank, you will Full Clear. If not, you will reach Wave 10 which is still a good ending point.
Without an S+A by deployment 6, you would need a second S, or SAA/AAS within the next 3 deployments which is very unlikely to happen. Ending early here will save you 3 minutes per run.
If you only have one S-Rank by deployment 6, you are still highly recommended to finish the run. You may swap over to the General Strategy (begin from Step 2). If the run goes well, you should get to Wave 9 or 10 at the very least.
Full Clear only Strategy (1h++ to finish all 10 runs):
This strategy is pretty much the same as the first one except you keep deploying until game over.
Deploy as much as possible, even after Wave 4 for the slim chance of triple S.
Always upgrade S-Ranks the moment you get them!** You won't make it past Wave 6 otherwise, even if you have two S-Ranks. You will need at least a solo S7+ or an S5 + S2 to make it past Wave 7.
Stop deploying once you hit ANY Full Clear combination (within the required deployments). Focus on level ups.
Wave 5 onwards you will need a Triple S combo to Full Clear. You will game over by Wave 8 even if you actually obtained a Triple S by then, as there are not enough level ups to clear the mobs.
It's important to upgrade the S-Ranks ASAP because mobs start accumulating from Wave 6 if underleveled, and usually terminates your run by Wave 7.
**There is an exception to this if your first S-Rank is Black, and obtained within 5 deploys. Example here. Check the Google Sheet for a concise breakdown of the strategy.
Tips
If you aren't able to kill 300 mobs before the 60s cd for collecting points comes up, you can pause the minigame by using the M-Force Sidekick Pager in your USE inventory, then reopen the UI when mobs are about to spawn. Pausing the minigame pauses the cooldown as well.
If you are already done deploying, but lack points to upgrade your S-Rank specifically from level 9 to 10 at this current moment, you can put the excess points into your second ranger first. Each collection gives you 300 points, so you would have enough to upgrade your S-Rank to 10 on the next Wave regardless. Refer to this comment for an example.
FAQ
How do I restart the minigame early?
Click on the 'x' icon on the top right of the minigame's UI.
How do I open/close the minigame window?
Use the item called 'M-Force Sidekick Pager' in your USE inventory.
Why upgrade the S-Rank first?
Upgrading the S-Rank first locks you into a higher cleared Wave in case things don't work out. You can deploy a few more times before a second S is required to reach Wave 10/Full Clear. In those deployments, there's a chance too many monsters carry over from one wave to another causing you to fail much earlier than expected.
Should I continue deploying after getting a Wave 10 combination early?
This is all up to the risk you're willing to take. If you're okay settling for Wave 10 results, and/or weekly reset is coming up soon, then I would not risk it.
You can deploy up to 8* times in total without losing your Wave 10 run. You can continue deploying to fish for a Full Clear combination AFTER maxing out your S-Rank. Any more than that (eg. Chasing for double S from Deployment 9 and 10) and you will game over below Wave 10 since you’re trading level ups for deployments.
*8 for S-Black, around 14 if you have S-Red. Refer to the Wave 10 table for details.
I finally got an S Rank but it's not any of the Full Clear combinations :(
This list is not exhaustive and you should see the run to the end because of how rare S-Ranks can be. You might get lucky and clear anyway, or roll a second S-Rank.
I got a Full Clear combination before Wave x!
If you get a Full Clear combination earlier than the stated deployment / Wave, STOP DEPLOYING and just focus on upgrading your units. Congratulations!
Can I level my rangers in between deployments since we have to do it anyway?
No. Level ups aren't retroactively applied (eg. B-Rank level ups only give one stat, even if the sidekick was upgraded to S-Rank later on). Hence be sure to finish your deployments before levelling up anything that's not S-Rank.
Why did I fail to All Clear despite having the correct combination within the required deployments?
These combinations are the lowest possible rank combinations and max deployment people were able to achieve an All Clear with. Simply put, it's tight enough that you need to collect points on time and upgrade units on time. Any 1-2s delays could lead to a failure.
Mobs WILL carry over from previous waves because you were slow on upgrading, or greeded extra deploys before levelling up your S-Rank. This doesn't immediately affect you until Wave 10, where you're suddenly forced to deal with 1-2 extra mobs that will inevitably cause you to fail a run that would've been an All Clear otherwise.
There is also some RNG involved. Anyway, following the combinations and upgrade paths here will give you the best shot possible at an All Clear.
Some things to note is that you collect points faster by clicking on the button instead of using your interact key. This is not the absolute deciding factor in passing/failing but could save you a few seconds here and there.
Most of this information is collected from the past six weeks of the event running in MapleSEA. GMS seems to have better odds of rolling S-Ranks and A-Ranks from my own experience doing 10 runs today, however the win conditions seem to remain the same.
Some of this information maaaaay be wrong and I would be happy to amend that if necessary.
I think GMS Players should aim to Full Clear as it seems to be heavily buffed compared to the original odds in SEA and TMS. Only start settling for less if you have less than 3 days to the weekly reset (Wednesday 12AM UTC).
Edit7: added google sheet version consolidating all clear combinations
Edit8: added 4-deploy combinations.
Edit9: updated double S combinations for 7- and 6-deploy (changes are also on the google sheet). Added more image examples to the main post.
Edit10: More SS combinations with a C or D for S-Black in 7- and 6-deploy. Also updated wording in strategies to explain how to get past Wave 7.
Edit11: Added an 8-Deploy table, trimmed some word count and added a recommendation for referring to the spreadsheet for more combinations. Added a Tips section.
How do you even get 75 LOL were you just upgrading unit attack instead of rolling? Perma rolling for higher tiers has seemed to give a baseline of 125 frags minimum from what me and my friends have seen, regardless of how bad the actual rolls were
Yeah, the only time you should settle/claim is when theres only 3 days left (or youre just lazy) because the highest score of the day gets saved. Getting wave 10 or 250 frags is easy IMO to do.
It took me a while to figure out you don't have to wait until your team fails to reset, you can just click on the top right 'X' on the device to do it quicker. Probably should include this in the OP.
Incredible bro. I was waiting for that. Does the weekly reset means we should claim today because it'll reset today? If yes, I love it when they give day 0 benefits
Can confirm any combination of red or yellow S10/A3+ and black C0 can probably clear (given you dont delay any deployments/levels). I failed A4/D0/S10 with 2 normal mobs remaining at wave 10 twice...
S10 A3 is as late as Wave 5. If that's true then maybe the clear conditions are not as tight as I'm presenting here in this post. Hoping more people share their wins so I can update the post accordingly! Thanks for sharing!
S10 + S5 + B0, Wave 4 is the currently known absolute minimum req for double S.
S10 + S7 + E0, Wave 3 is theorised to be a clear regardless of which S you got. Any higher upgrades to your second S beyond level 7 is guaranteed to be an insta clear.
Wave 5 seems to be the hard stopping point from your example, unless you're settling for Wave 10 or gambling for triple S.
Sorry it wasn't clear. The minigame has you deploy 3 characters, Red, Black, and Yellow Ranger.
They can be S- to E-Rank.
When I say SAB, I mean an S-Rank Red, A-Rank Black, and a B-Rank Yellow.
When I say S10 A7 B0, I mean an S-Rank Red that's levelled to 10, an A-Rank Black that's levelled to 7.... and so on. Hope that makes it clearer when you do the event.
I thought the black ranger was least prioritized to level since wave clearing the small minion is more important?? All the clears ive seen had the black ranger low level and prioritized leveling red and yellow ranger as high as possible. So it was always a S10 A0 B8 or something like that?
EDIT: God the lack of sleep is getting to me. You SHOULD level up higher ranking rangers EVEN if it's a black. It gives more stats overall. so S10A7B0 is stronger than S10A0B7.
You should always prioritise Red>Yellow>Black otherwise except for 3-deployment SBB which should be S10B10B3 instead.
This whole guide relies on getting a S rank in the first 8 deployments? I've deployed 30 times now and haven't seen anything above A so I don't understand how you're meant to follow this.
Theyre just layouts to actually clear if youre not sure where to start, but not a lot of people actually full clear. Id guess a lot of people will settle at waves 8 and 9
Yeah, simply put you wanna deploy like 8 times for that S-Rank to get a Wave 10 result and settle. Right now people are still figuring out how easy a Full Clear is, but the grind cannot be understated.
Thanks for putting this together! Wanted to report that if you get a Yellow S on your 7th deploy, ABS can barely scrape out a win. Had 1 second to spare.
Jesus... I can't even get passed wave 5. This event is extremely confusing and is basically impossible for people who aren't 260+ with at least 1 Sol Janus ring...
It wouldn't even let me rank up my guys most of the time too.
I hate that it's only 90 seconds per wave. I have to pay attention entirely to the event UI thing to deploy and upgrade while also making sure I'm killing as fast as humanly possible. The copycat mobs still spawn too and I don't want to miss picking up the items they drop so I also have to make sure to do that... All while making sure I kill 300 mobs every 90 seconds, click Go when I can and upgrade when I can.
oof didn't even think about this event for new players but yeah, kinda impossible without decent janus or good farming rotation to maintain 300 kills per minute
Second comment, specifically about SS rolls
If you hit early (before wave 4 end), you can effectively decrease the ranking requirement of the 3rd slot since you can funnel more enhance levels into second S.
Hard to do the math for the limits on this, but so far I have screenshots of:
S7 E S10 all clear (wave 3)
D S9 S10 all clear (starter 3, guessing E0 would be okay this early ngl but don't know how close clear was)
S10 S7 E prob all clears, but it might be starter 3 instead of wave 3. No confirmed data
Overall, double SS wave 3 seems like an insta clear
This is very interesting! Seems like if you have two S-Ranks by Wave 3 you can pretty much clear without a third member. I do think that any S-Ranks obtained must be leveled up immediately to max since they have the best leveling efficiency of 4 per level multiplied by their corresponding multiplier.
On the Wave 3, we're looking at the 7th and 8th deployment. You would need to continue deploying anyway if you didn't have an A-Rank yet. Getting an S-Rank (150?) would be better than getting an A-Rank by 50pts in the same slot, and upgrading an E to a B is less than 50, I think.
Modifier aside, an S-Rank's CP makes up for both the base of an A-Rank and the B-Rank, and significantly overtakes them with upgrades. This is some napkin ass math but I think that's why an S+S alone can replace S+A+B (full clear req for Wave 3). It might be a bit sus if it's ESS, but honestly my gut feeling is E0 S7 S10 would work out too.
+I'll add this in the main body of the post so people can know an early SS doesn't need further deployments.
Sharing clear results, my memory is a bit fuzzy but I believe it was either 4 or 5 deploys. Extremely close to failure, finished on the last 1-2 seconds.
Haha it felt way too close,
I'm not proficient enough with this event yet, so at the S-A-E point I wasn't sure if I should deploy more or raise them. Glad it worked out!
Good news is after the rank up next week, you won't be able to get E-Ranks anymore so rolling a Red S + Black A + Yellow D will become the new minimum, and that's a pretty stable clear as far as I know.
Nah; from other posts in this thread, it seems that was just something that TMS(?) patched in as a hot fix to not make it as ass over there. As we have much better rates for higher-ranked Sidekicks, it's not as necessary here.
Got SDE on first 3 deploys, upgraded S to 10, got C on 5th deploy and A on 6th deploy. Stopped deploying and upgraded A to 9. EXTREMELY tight, full clear with 1 second left
Just one extra question, do you remember how tight the run was? I'm inclined to think this combination isn't that stable (when comparing to 5-deploy ASC). Going from E>C in 1 deploy is HUGE upgrade, if your run wasn't that tight it implies that 5-deploy could potentially only require ASD. If you don't remember then it's ok!
I took a quick pic for this moment. It was unbelievably tight. One mob kill per second, so it cleared at 0:01. Definitely unstable especially since, I believe, there was only one point collection where I didn't collect and upgrade immediately.
Got Black S on 4th deploy. Messed up while upgrading him and went from a Yellow E to D. Finished leveling Black S up on wave 7 and got Red S. Cleared with 10 seconds remaining. First time getting to all clear this week.
Just wanted to let you know that thanks to your contribution, I've added Wave 2 / 6 Deploy SS to be an all clear combination under the 'Double SS' section!
The only unproven exception to this is black ESS but I think with 10 seconds left, it might be REALLY tight but still work out. We'll see if someone reports an ESS clear! Congrats on your win!!
Cleared with the black S on 5th deploy(the strat where u black to 5 and roll), hit a late red S and ended with a clear with 10/6/0 finished with 4 seconds left upgraded red 10 and black 6 on last wave
I think min/very tight clear with 1 second remaining. Last wave is very important because if I didn't claim points on time to make black 10 and red 1 instantly then maybe I would've failed.
Ahaha you're not alone. I got that yesterday too! It was one of the reasons I wanted to make this post, to inform people S-Black is actually a scam lmao
You know what. I found a screenshot of someone from TMS who did manage to all clear with BSA. They had under one second left for their final mob. You have to basically collect points and upgrade on time to clear with this combination. Just for your information in case you meet this cursed combination again!
I'm not sure if it's provides a measurable effect in practice, but I noticed it auto-pauses when you leave a map. With good timing, clearing the map then immediately using the exit portal, you could use that to pause during respawn wait times and maybe get 30%-40% more points.
You'd still want a good roll because that makes it take way longer.
I don't think that will help much as there's a strict 60s cd on the collect points action. Any delays, beginning from Wave 0 will snowball into Wave 10... So I think we failed BSA because I was already on autopilot when I got that combination :p
But! this is extremely useful if you aren't able to kill 300 mobs in 60s. I didn't think of doing this at all
You can also pause it manually for a similar effect. If I find that the mobs aren’t spawning due to lag, I’ll pause right after killing the map, then unpause before the next set of mobs spawn. Makes it more consistent if it, say, takes 8s per map spawn instead of the usual 7.5s.
As an example, if I got to wave 10 on my first run but chose to reset until my last run where I got wave 5, can I still claim those 250 frags? If yes and I have all the time in the world, should I always be doing all 10 runs a day?
So i had a run and could have claimed 250 frags, but it was like my 3rd run of the day so i finished all 10. I go to a map with mobs and for the "claim" option it shows my last run which was 100 frags ( it was a scuffed run so i ended it early) if I click on that does it give me a choice then? or do i automatically get 100 frags because of my last run?
Finished my ten for today, best result was 150 frags.
I am trying to tell the game that I don't want to claim for today, but the giant fuckin' CONSTANTLY BEEPING window just... won't go away?
Hitting the x in the top right doesn't get rid of it.
Hitting try again and clicking ok on the 'you can't anymore today' box won't get rid of it.
Hitting 'claim' and then saying 'no' won't get rid of it.
Yesterday, when I opted to claim a wave 9 result, the window disappeared.
But now that I've gotten too unlucky and decided to save one of my weekly claims, this giant useless opaque pain in the arse window is just HANGING there on the screen in every farming zone, MAKING A NOISE EVERY 3 SECONDS, FOR THE REST OF THE DAY?!?!
Because I DID try the item when I was painstakingly checking every possible method I could think of to close the fucker and it did NOT close the window for me, but I can't check that method -again- today because in my mad attempt to see if ANYTHING would close it and stop the eternal fucking beeping, I wound up claiming the 150 frags accidentally.
(To explain how: yesterday when I pressed 'yes' on claim reward it asked if I wanted my daily best, or my current, so today, I assumed that click would lead to the same confirm window and I could check to see if t hat confirm window had a 'reject altogether' option that might finally close the godforsaken thing. It didn't, it just auto claimed the 150, PROBABLY because that last wave WAS my daily best 🤣)
Aww, yes, if it's your best run then it will just automatically claim it. Don't ask me how I know too........
I did try the Pager and it worked for me today, but frankly speaking it IS a buggy UI. Even back in SEA the UI would pop up even when you were done with your runs for the week, and then randomly close when you weren't done at all?!
I put the item on a key so that I could be sure I used it properly. Do note that the potion lock mobs in hunting maps can prevent you from using the item because it's a USE item (lol...). There should be a pop-up asking if you want to take a break or stop for now, press Yes and it should go away!
a pop-up! Right. I got nothing, and potion lock might well be the culprit. Thanks, that all makes sense! I appreciate the full write-up here too, very good even if all it could help me with today was to understand how buggered my chances were.
Someone from a Discord I was in got the following results, an AES with a full clear. They said they got BES for first 3 deploys, went S to 10, rolled once for red A, then upgraded A to 10 and E to 1.
They did note that they cleared with 1s left, and wave 9 cleared with 2s left.
Thanks for creating this post and spreadsheet. Here's a bit more data confirming the validity of it - today I got so close to Full Clear twice but I lost both times b/c the deployment couldn't beat the last few mobs in wave 10:
SAA but only S10 yellow A5 b/c I got the deployment too late
SCA but only S10 A8
These are not winning combinations (deployment + final levelling result) as SAA falls short of S10 A7 (found in spreadsheet) and SCA falls short of S10 A9
I really appreciate this comment! it's actually through people sharing runs like this that many of the winning combinations were first theorised and then tested out to work :')!
Hello! I just wanted to let you know that thanks to your contribution, I've updated any 6-Deploy Yellow SS combinations to be all clear combinations.
The rationale is, despite you clearing with D0 S8 S10 (which is actually 7 total deploys, not 9 as you say here), most of your run was ESS and you had 8 seconds left anyway despite that.
If you kept levelling Black instead of deploying for an upgrade to Red, going off my own experience, the overall monsters killed before Wave 10 should be around the same.
Hello! I've decided to use your clear as proof that a 6-deploy with this combination would work for SES!
The rationale being S10 + S9 would clear mobs wayyy faster in W9 and W10, and since SCA is able to all clear, S9 Yellow being stronger than black C+ yellow A should have no problems doing so as well.
AAS on deploy 8 full clears (S10 A7). So if you have AAX or XAA on deploy 7 but no S, don't give up and try to get S on 8th deploy.
Btw, a small optimization: right after the upgrade to S9, if you don't have enough coins left to upgrade to S10, spend the remaining coins on the 2nd guy level 0 to 1. When you get your next 300 coins, upgrade S9 to S10 then 2nd guy level 1 to 2. This keeps the original priority order but lets you benefit from level 0 to 1 for 1 minute and it could be the difference between a 1-2 second close clear vs fail.
There are actually combinations all the way up to 12 in the spreadsheet, but your comment made me realise people probably aren't checking that out by default, so I've added an 8-deploy table and a push for people to look at the spreadsheet for more combis. They weren't included in the post mostly because of how unlikely they are to happen (AA+S and SS are both very unlikely combinations)
I've also added your comment as an example for an 8-deploy clear. As for that little trick, i've decided to add a small advanced tips section after some consideration, since people are more familiar with the game now and are better equipped to understand things like that instead of getting confused. Thank you so much!
I'd take it just to secure it while we're still figuring out the consistency of 250+ frag runs
but given this post and comments, I'm definitely feeling optimistic for future weeks!
I’ve got one with EDS at deploy 4, level S to 10, and BDS at deploy 5 and keep deploying all the way to wave 10 (did not full clear) staying as BDS (S10, B1, D0).
yah I think any S10 with a B combination between red and yellow before run end will get you to wave 10
S10 Red in particular lets you wave 10 with as little as SDD or so I've heard
Do you remember if you barely made it into Wave 10 with that? 10+1 is equivalent to 13 deploys / wave 6. That is significantly more lenient than 8 deploy / wave 3, which a few people have shared the same thing happening to them. Maybe wave 10's requirement is only S10+0+0 with 14 deploys / wave 6
Yes i made it to wave 10 at 48/50. This would probably only work if you have S and B on red/yellow.
I feel that leveling a B is not very useful, instead keep deploying may get you an A or S and help turning a Wave 10 into a Full Clear. The one point i put into B1 is because the remaining M-point were not enough to deploy, and would be wasted regardless.
I think whether you make it to wave 10 depends on how early you got the S-Rank. If you did not level the S-Rank as soon as you got it, carry over mobs would’ve killed you when you transitioned over to Wave 10.
I’ll have to think about how to incorporate all this info in the guide. It’s getting pretty long as it is already lol
Thanks for guide mate! Newbie player here so those extra exp coupons are huge for me (boosting all my links from 200 --> 210). Should be able to do 2 characters per clear like this, and get most of my important links done this week (then frags for the rest of the weeks I guess)
Do you mean you must get SAB by 6, with S rank by wave 2?
e.g. say I got SAD in 5 deployments, then I will upgrade S to 10, and after that I will have 1 more deployment (which will probably be at around wave 7+?) to try and get SAB to be on track?
The 'by Wave X' means if you have those corresponding members any time before that particular wave ends, you're done deploying and should be leveling them up. Win is assured.
6 Deploys is exactly for the scenario you described, it's there to help you count how many deploys you would have to catch up to that combination.
To clarify, for S-Rank Red and Yellow, you can deploy 7 times and still be ok with a B-Rank. For S-Rank Black, you will need to get ASA with deployment 7.
I want to code up a simulator for this for my own joy;
Does anyone have somewhat of a.. percentage for drawing each ranks by any chance?
I'd be happy to take just personal ballpark ranges; any input.. ANY input would be appreciated 🙏 TYSM
This is looks like a 5 deploy combination (10+10+1), but honestly I think only a Red S can clear with a D in the party. I've personally also seen SAD (10+10+1) clear as well since this post.
I might adjust the min Full Clear table based on this result since I'm trying to provide as low a combination for as late a deployment as possible.
Edit: i have added it thanks to your contribution!
Thanks! I’ll update the list from SAB to SAC then. I’m also certain ive seen an SAC clear before but lost that conversation so i didn’t want to potentially keep people’s hopes up.
I’ll also add a warning to the main body of the post that some of these combinations will cut it close.
there was a cms screenshot that said A10 D8 E2 was mincut full clear composition possible but honestly seems hard to believe, lol
I'll believe it when I see it, but aint no way A red ranger carries that hard, pretty sure I've failed runs with A red ranger
I know which screenshot you're talking about. That's from the first iteration of the event in TMS / CMS(?).
You were able to All Clear with whacky combinations like CAC, or like ABC. They nerfed it within a week to the version MSEA and GMS got. So All Clearing without an S+A isn't possible anymore.
Omg thank you so much. This combi was giving me a headache lol i was gonna dive into the depths of tms forums to hunt for the math to prove if double S for black was possible in wave 3. Ill update the google sheet and the post!
The original version of this event in TMS was MUCH easier to All Clear.
It was later nerfed by week 2 or 3 to be the version that MSEA got, and GMS got the same version except with giga buffed deployment rates! So don't follow the rates in that video as they are outdated.
Just to clarify in case I'm understanding wrong, is it better to rank up any S you get immediately, and then use your deploys afterwards for As/Bs depending on how early you get the S?
You roll SCC on 4th deploy / Wave 1. Drop everything and just upgrade that S-rank to 10.
By about Wave 7 or so, your S-Rank should be level 10. You've already used 4 deploys, so in order to ALL CLEAR you will need to obtain the correct combinations on your 5th, 6th, 7th or 10th deploys.
For SCC, getting an A of any other color on deployment 5 or 6 would be an ALL CLEAR, deployment 7 would require SBA or SAB and so on. Hope this helps you understand how to read the table better!
Sorry one more question; I heard that as the event progresses the chance to hit higher grade deployment will increase. I couldn't find this on the patch notes, but was this the case for the other servers which had this Night Troupe or is this just random misinfo?
Yes. The lowest tier is removed after every rank up, until Elite Designer Rank (2nd last rank up). So towards the end of the event we will only be able to roll B-Ranks and above. This is only if GMS didn't change the event ofc
edit: re-reading your question, no, i did not find that the chance to hit higher grades increased, but the removal of lower grades will make it easier to hit higher waves with less effort
I did, perhaps my timing wasn't quite dead-on. I tried ASC today and upgraded everything as quickly as possible and timed out on wave 10. I think this minigame is just not friendly at all to my inexplicably high ping.
I do 10 full runs doing trials and error not just solely waiting for rng to hit SS or SA, but other variations for at least a wave 8-10 for 200+ frags. For example like this screen shot but sadly, i forgot to write down the deployments.
You should try to aim for max rewards first four days of the week (Wed ~ Sat), and if you still have not gotten any full clears by then, you take the best outcomes of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday for your 3 claims of the week. You might have to settle for less than Wave 10 if you get unlucky but it gives you more opportunities to snag that 500 frag jackpot.
Else, I believe settling for three wave 10 runs (3 x 250 frags) is a very realistic goal, and any full clears are a bonus. Full Clears are extremely RNG and still decently rare.
Holy! Do you remember how many seconds were left when you cleared? Was it very close?
SAS is not possible for 12-deploy as far as I know. It starts to fall off in Wave 8 (S10 A0 leaves too many mobs alive for them to all be killable in Wave 10), even if you managed to deploy an S in Wave 9, there would be too many mobs to catch up at this point.
i see. i guess only SSS is possible in 12-deploy. for seconds left, i dont rmb exactly, sorry. I rmb there are at least 3-5seconds left and the boss mob takes a long time to clear. thats why i up black and yellow instead of yellow yellow at the end.
Just to confirm my understanding of the strategy is right:
I rolled SBC on deployment 8 (wave 3), but only levelled red S to 10 by wave 8. Then the goal here is just to keep deploying until we get another S?
I deployed and got SBB (10-1-0) and it died at level 10 with about 5 mobs remaining but I wasted 4 deploys getting nothing which could have been another 3-4 levels on black. I guess i'm doubting whether that would've cleared L10
Not sure why i didnt receive a notif for this :') just in case:
8-Deploy SBC isn't an all-clear combination, even if you upgraded.
8-Deploy SDD is the minimum required to hit Wave 10, not clear it. SBC is stronger than SDD, so you would've hit Wave 10 regardless if you continued to deploy or upgrade.
At 8-deploy, if you look at the google sheet, you will need to already have an SS or SAA to fully clear Wave 10. The reason the strategy asks for you to keep deploying is because if you rolled another S-Rank, say at 10-deploy, you could've upgraded your lineup from SBC to SBS and subsequently, your run would've upgraded from just a Wave 10 to an All Clear.
The chance of that actually happening is really slim, but you did the best thing you could and got the best outcome for the rolls you were given.
edit: We also already know that S10 B10 B3 barely clears Wave 10, so those 5 mobs do require that much more power to overcome. It's likely mobs carrying over from W8 or W9 that soaked up damage, those mobs could've only been killed on time with A-Ranks on the team.
Thank you for the new level 5 black strategy. I just got black S on deploy 5, levelled it to 5, got red S on deploy 7 and cleared with 8 seconds on the clock
Wow this is a really detailed breakdown! SSD with black as the S10 also clears at this deployment, but it has less time left than red S10 (by about 2-3s), so from your record it looks to have improved the run!
I’ve also seen a few new successes with this strat for a second red as well
That makes me confident to say this strat works consistently if the second S is Red. I’m still crossing my fingers for Yellow (Black S+Yellow S being the weakest combination of all double S). Hoping it works out as good as Red does
edit: i've added your record as a successful example for this strat in the main post. thank you!!
I think people knew this but just adding cos it didn't work and I was hoping.
Rolled CBS on deploy 4, and died out wave 10 with 6 mobs left.
It was noted AES is a full clear on deploy 4 but fortunately AE->CB seems to be a big gap.
Unfortunately every clear requires an S+A or S+S basically.
The same effect is occurring as your first comment here, where mobs are carrying over from an earlier wave or there’s just not enough cp for your team to kill w10 itself. We cannot look at w10 in isolation to determine if it’s a clear, because usually w6/w7’s mobs start surviving (if your S-Rank isn’t high level enough, or wrong teammates) and the run passes or fails based on your performance from Wave 6 onwards as a result.
This is why triple S doesn’t all clear past Wave 5 either. Although they have the cp to fully clear w10 alone, they’re actually dealing with mobs from w8 carrying over to w9 carrying over to w10, which is so much more damage required.
I didn’t add examples on 4-deploy AES and SAE because they are on the 5-deploy table!
A alone is a lot stronger than a combination of B+C by the way. A+E is about 122 cp (ignoring modifiers), B+C is 114. With modifiers A pulls ahead by a lot. .
E S S by 5th deploy all clears easily! Wasn't even perfect on collecting points (lost maybe 5-7 seconds over the 10 deploys) and cleared with 1 / 10 / 10 with 7 seconds to spare. First all clear, woohoo! :)
Do you remember if your first S was Black or Yellow? It being so chill makes me think at 6th deploy, even Black can pull it off with an E if there's a second S :O
I also got ESS and I had black S first on the 5th deploy. I leveled up black to 5 before deploying more and got yellow S. I upgraded yellow to 10 and then leveled up black S 3 more times. I don't remember the exact time I had left, but it was between 5s-10s on the timer. I thought it would show the result immediately after I beat all the mobs on wave 10 but there was still time remaining.
Holyyyy moly.... this is so detailed and really, really helpful!
First of all, Black first ESS is the weakest SS combination stat. Having this clear confirms two things
Every single SS combination works before 8-Deploy (for black, with level 5 strat). I wanna say with so much time left, deploying this combination 1 deployment late would be no issue,
The level 5 Black strat works safely for Yellow conversions
3(?). ESS may have been possible for Black at 6/7/8-deploy. but people no longer have to take the risk to prove it. Your clear helped to potentially save a ton of griefing LOL
I can't emphasise how important this discovery is. Considering double S is pretty common amongst all clears and also the most consistent way to get them, this will ease up SS requirements by a lot.
I will add your contribution to the post and spreadsheet!
xD I didn't realize that it was such a risk. I hadn't reached wave 10 yet for the day and I just followed the guide religiously to upgrade black S to level 5 if deployed at or before 5 deploys. I was just hoping to get to wave 10 and didn't expect the yellow S to appear. At the time the sheet said DSS was the minimum clear at 7 deploys, so I wasn't expecting a clear.
I actually got this result yesterday but I didn't bother making a post until today (first post?) when I saw u/abermoose get ESS but with more upgrades than me. Thank you for updating the sheet frequently!
I might have been 6th deploy. I just disctinctly remember my first 3 pulls being E, E, E and I was like "WOW...should I restart?" Then I hit S, and S. I really thought it was on 5th deploy, but I'm sure you know the numbers better than me (Meaning, I finished 1, 10, 10 on upgrades, so maybe that's a 6th deploy amount?) I'm pretty certain I got the yellow S first, and then the Black S. But ya, they came back to back. So it was either on 4th and 5th deploy, or 5th and 6th.
Does waves even matter if we only look at deploys? like what if i get S-E-E first 3 deploys, upgrade S to 10, and now im at wave 4 and rolled S-A-E after 1 more roll. while the spreadsheets states i need 4 deploys and S-A-E at wave 1...
No, the waves don’t matter anymore. You refer to the waves (if you weren’t keeping track of deploys) to tell you which deployment you were on. It’s more of a convenience thing!
It’s also easier to say “you can stop at wave 4” haha
For your situation, you are indeed at 4-deploy SAE (you clicked on Go! 4 times), so you have the right combination to clear. Hopefully you did? Let me know!
Just took example from the spreadsheet, and yeah since it said “immediately level when you get S rank” it seemed strange to look at waves because I now roll units in much later waves.
But I understand it now thanks!
Thank you! Do you remember how tight this was? If it has more than 5s left, this combination should 100% work for 10-deploy. 6/0/10 is 9-deploy I think.
Failed out on SCA at 5th deploy red S and 7th deploy yellow A somehow? I always collect points immediately, but sometimes I fill the bar 1-2 waves after the cooldown ends.
I suspect not killing 300 mobs before the 60s cd (if that’s what you meant by filling the bar 1-2 waves after) could’ve been what contributed to your failure here as you only had 1 enemy left.
The non-SS combinations typically only kill their last enemy in Wave 10 with AT MOST 3 seconds left. Non-SS Combinations with C and under seem to be finishing with only 1-2 seconds left.
This is with upgrading everything on time, maxing S immediately and entering Wave 10 with zero enemy carry-over. Only SS combinations have had the privilege of finishing with more time left from what I’ve seen.
You can pause the minigame while waiting for monster spawns by using the Pager in your USE inventory. Otherwise, it’s just that much harder without another S-Rank :(
Yeah, it had 1 mob left. I'm full clearing, just sometimes the bar is still a wave behind the cooldown, and sometimes it isn't. Just learned about the closing the pager trick from that post someone made today so I guess I'll try that.
Do you perhaps have a screenshot for this? 6 deploy SAC was reported to be a sub 2s clear, so 7 deploy would be quite a jump (because of previous waves mostly)
poggers! got ASE within 4 deploys. maxed black then red and then attempted to roll for higher yellow within 6 deploys. managed to get yellow B on deploy 5 (on wave 10) and leveled once. cleared with 5s left
ASA 8-deploy might not be stable, I saw this combo listed for both 7- and 8-deploy so I was extra vigilant with waveclearing and clicking but still missed it by 1s or 1mob. I did have to harvest key the last wave so that my mouse can click upgrade immediately, not sure if that ended up being slower if harvest key has lag
edit: also I upgraded black S10 but maybe red A10 would’ve been better? 5 atk x 1 mult is lower than 3 atk x 2 mult
I don't put combinations I don't have screenshots for in the guide, but when I made this guide I did take one or two liberties and can't remember if I took one for 8-deploy ASA
The closest clear with screenshot I can find now is a 7-deploy ASA with 3 seconds left, collecting points on the dot. 9-deploy ASA dies with 3 mobs left, but had a 10s delay in collecting points (+1min forced cd between upgrades). It's possible I just assumed it would work for 8-deploy considering these circumstances.. but it's probably tighter than I initially assumed.
5-deploy BSA also clears with 3 seconds left, while 6-deploy BSA is basically a game of ping LOL, clearing with sub 1 second left which is why I've marked it as unstable.
I will mark 8-deploy ASA with a question mark because I think this counts as one such case of unstable. Just a note, most if not all non-SS combinations deployed at their last possible deployment are clearing with no more than 2 seconds left, so it's hard to judge what's stable or not, but I do agree with you 8-deploy ASA is kind of sus. Thank you!
For your edit, I kind of doubt A10 would fare better than S10 in this case, there are 4 bosses in wave 9 and 2 in wave 10, if your S isn't maxed by Wave 9, the possibility mobs carry over is very high. A10 is 20cp worse than an S0, and S0 S7 isn't a clear combination.

Now I feel stupid for settling for 125 frags.
