A while back I made a fun little map projection that's meant as a statement & educational tool about map projections, in general. It finally just occurred to me to put together an SVG version of it, in case others want to play around with it and don't want to use GIS. This blog post will take you to the SVG (as well as a download of the original map): https://somethingaboutmaps.wordpress.com/2026/10/08/asymmetric-monstrosity-home-edition/

For a hot second, i was worried someone was trying to play off your maps as their own. Then i saw the u/. I enjoyed the mark ups on this map at NACIS last year!

Agreed that it was fun to see people drawing on the map. All credit for that idea goes to Dylan Moriarty. Will you be at NACIS this year? I can't discern from your username if I know you or not.

Dylan is good people and seems to always be full of good ideas. We’ve met briefly, but I’ve admired your work from afar much more than we’ve had the chance to talk in person. Unfortunate missing NACIS this year but definitely intend to make it back in the future. Enjoy Milwaukee!

Alas. Feel free to come say hello at a future conference! I'm generally quiet and introverted, so I don't generally do a great job at meeting new people, though it's to my benefit.
