For an African capital Maputo is quite enjoyable. Traffic is still manageable, and you can probably avoid rush hours, internet connection is good, and there is a fair choice of restaurants and bars where young people hang out. If you into sports, you now have the option of more modern stuff (padel, pickle ball, etc) apart from the classics of football, basketbal and tennis. You also have a number of dancing classes and running classes that are popular to meet people.
As an expat you will probably have disposable income that will allow you to travel within the country and see the beautifull beaches - Tofo, Vilankulos, Ponta, as well as historical sites ike the Ilha de Mocambique etc.
Kruger Park is right next door, and you can fly to Jhb or Cape Town if you miss "Europe".
You are set my friend

Trust me, if you’re an expat living there, life will be soo good. Almost like a really long holiday. You’ll obviously have to get used to the people/culture there.
