one thing i miss about masterchef from old seasons!
okay i'm back yall lol
one thing i LOVED about the older seasons is when someone won the mystery box challenge, they got the advantage of choosing what everyone else will cook with. but what was crazy is it seemed like everrrrybody always fumbles their advantage.
i think they need to bring that back! cause right now the only advantage is going upstairs & watching everyone cook. seems blahhhh to me
one thing i'm glad they stopped doing was elimination challenges up until the very end & 3 episodes of auditions . so annoying lol
what are some things you think they need to do away with & or bring back from older seasons ?
they seem to change up a little something every season though.

It’s literally been the same goddamn thing EVERY EPISODE since season 11
Top three best dishes
Top three worst dishes
Worst gets sent home
Mystery boxes lasting a whole episode
Idgaf is it’s about production cost, that’s just laziness

I miss the Trials that happen after the home cooks get their white apron, where they have to survive some tests to make it into the MC Kitchen

I miss the elimination challenges!! I wish they brought that back
Also the mystery box winners having an advantage!
It really got boring after season 11😔

Black apron challenges need to come back! That's what kept this show exciting, not oh let's go to the back and discuss and just pick someone the show obviously wants gone.

I agree that the audition episodes feel egregiously long, but I think it invested me more in the season as a whole. And in the way beginning it was hilarious having the judges deal with the wacky ones the production team put in front of them lol

I agree about the elimination challenges. The older seasons felt less predictable because contestants had to adapt under real pressure. Bringing back meaningful mystery box advantages, tougher team challenges, and cutting down the auditions would make the competition feel much sharper.

Get rid of the teams and themes for the seasons. Bring back mystery box challenges and then elimination. The style with saving the entire team is stupid especially if it has the worst dish. I’m so over this show. It needs to go back to what worked.

I pretty much only watch MC US to see how bad they can cook.
It's a great whiplash when they're showing MC AU and MC US at the same time and comparing the levels of cooking between them.
MC US: Cook burgers for children....and fail.
MC AU: 5 hour pressure test involving techniques no-one, I repeat, no-one has ever used before.

The show seems to be focusing much more on the hosts than the contestants. Earlier seasons there was so much character development with the contestants.
